This was one awesome video. Thanks Rick and Linda once again. Happy and safe travels on one lonely byway.
Rick and Linda! This type of video is my most favorite. I absolutely love the desolate places!
Love you guys. You're living proof you're never too old to grow a new wild hair.. to go down desolate roads and find vast empty spaces surrounding your campground. It was beautifully shot an edited.
Really enjoyed it. Take good care of yourselves.
I always love your videos. I learn so much and I love how real your experiences are. No silly music or hype. Thank you both! God bless and stay safe. 🙏🌎🇺🇸
Our pleasure!
Loved the video. I appreciate that we can count on you two to get a video posted every Friday. We look forward to it all week. Take care❤
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching, Vivian.
Better than anything on TV that’s for sure.
Ah, yes. Drove this going from Great Basin NP headed towards City of Rocks in Idaho. It feels very isolated. We are very self sufficient and know we can self-rescue ourselves from most situations, but still a disconcerting feeling driving down this road which seems to go nowhere... I think we saw two vehicles in just over an hour.
Hi, we made it back to Debbie's house and I got my air conditioner fix last night. I got home this afternoon. Thanks again for all the information and fun conversation. Hope to bump into you all again sometime. Travel safe and have fun!
Glad you're both home safe and sound! We sure enjoyed meeting you and of course, ʻook forwatd to seeing you again. Somewhere. Much aloha!
Rick,
What you have expressed regarding God’s handy work in nature was a breath of fresh air, so to speak.
I’m amazed every day with his grace and protective promises. Now, more than ever in history, we need a close relationship with our creator.
I bet the stars are amazing.
This is definitely a long stretch of lonely highway without any traffic or towns but it is very beautiful looking out there. awesome scenery and beautiful skies
all over there in that part of the country. have an awesome weekend and as always take care and Thank You again Rick and Linda.☕🤠🇺🇲
“Save the spot!”
😂👍🏻
Nice video, thankyou for sharing and may God bless you
So well said. Being out in remote areas with a wide open sky, the majesty of our Lord is overwhelming.
Looks like you two found a perfect camp spot. I camped two nights next to the dam on Sublett Resiovore. I drove my Polaris over Heydruff Cayon down into...well close to the old town of Holkbrook. This place is very close to the Utah border and I was running on empty with no extra fuel so I turned around and headed back to camp. Thanks for the video.
We like the same kind of places. Beautiful and remote.
Thanks for the hide-a-key reminder Rick! I ordered one from Amazon before continuing with the video. One thing to think about for folks who may live in wetter parts of the country is to wrap the key in plastic before hiding it away as it may rust over the years in such an environment. You and Linda take care and be safe!
It is a photochemical phenomenon that is not yet perfectly understood. It is generally accepted that the ultra-violet light initiates an electron exchange between the manganese and iron ions. This changes the manganese compound into a form that causes the glass to turn purple.
Thank you!
Seems like you are a long way from coffee and pie!
I know, right? No worries, we'll find some pie somewhere.
I remember a passage where the devil tempted Jesus on top of a mountain over looking the city saying "I will give you all of this if you will worship me" so I do agree with you on where more of the evil lives. Thanks for another great video.
Great trip. I see you guys use the Gazetter as well. Great maps. I bet the stars were vivid out there at night. I’d like to get a little of that serenity!
They sure were!
This is a really great vlog! Thanks for sharing!
I’m inspired to go on a dessert adventure myself.
: ) THANKS MUCH for sharing and LOL @ Linda's Dead Eye accuracy : ) ALL the BEST, ENJOY, and Cheers ! ! ! ! : )
Spectacular! Thank you! ❤✌️
Here for y’all.😊
Antique glass with manganese oxide will change color from clear to purple when exposed to the ultraviolet rays of the sun.
Beautiful little slice of Heaven out there. I wonder if the cattle mysteriously knapping along the road were the result of an Alien Buffet? I love those long empty roads in Nevada and Utah. I keep an extra 5 gallon tank of gas in the Truck Camper just for those situations where you're on a long highway where I'm getting 8 to 11 mpg, then pull off to explore a side road for several miles where I'm getting 6 mpg. You can easily find yourself running out of fuel in the middle of nowhere. Take care guys.
Thanks, Jeff! Nowadays we do carry a little extra gs mostly for the TeeDub but its there if we need it.
Wow you guys are awesome thank you for your travels I have to come down there someday and find my great grandmother's grave her name was Lucy love it Rosenberg she was my great-grandmother she was put in the Albuquerque New Mexico cemetery she ended up marrying a gambler and then dying at 23 and it looks like nothing but desert but no
Great video as usual 👍. Good tip on the ‘hide-a-key’ too. For those that have the very expensive ($75-$100+) fob type key , like most newer rigs now, you can usually get a plain old flat key made that will at least unlock your door for just a few bucks. I bought a 2012 Jeep Wrangler about a year ago and sometimes I would come back to it and it would be locked when I didn’t remember locking it. Thought it was locking itself, maybe a Jeep quirk and they have a few. Usually in the ‘TIPM’ ,module inside the fuse box (RUclips it), starting to go bad . Luckily that prompted me to get a hide-a- key because it happened, one day I got out along a road without shutting it off and when returned the door was locked, I would have been in a pickle. What I have later discovered is that when I reach to open the door with my fingers the heel of my hand sometimes brushes the lock button.
Great video as always. Looking at that sky... I was wondering if you might have trouble with lightning. Near taller objects I wouldn't care so much.
Wow! To be out there like that is so awesome, however, it can be a little spooky too! I've had many occasions out in a desert in CA, NM and AZ where I wouldn't see another soul for hours. I know this video was taped before our recent flood of Northern lights, but I sure hope wherever you are that you get to see them. They have been spectacular here in the Flathead Valley! Be safe and have fun! And yes, being out there like that does make one feel a little Biblical for sure❤
Our daughter sent us some pictures taken from her back yard in Grehat Falls. Looks like we're missing a spectacular show!
@@gonagain the most brilliant colors I've ever seen! Even red!
Great area of adventure...thx
Not only one of the loneliest roads, but one of the loneliest camp sites! Did you find a shady spot to camp? If the weather is nice with low winds, then it’s a perfect place. Good video!
Great video guys,
I have a hideways key, and I've had to use it. It's in the same magnetic key box that you have.
Loved the TDub action.
Safe travels guys.
Thanks JT!
Good words about God. You are certainly blessed!
Save that spot, 😅 Linda
I always attach my keys to my beltloop with a metal caribbeaner BEFORE i exit my RV. It is a rule i never break.
Amen to God's creation. Never be afraid to speak about God.
Amen...
Never say never 🤣and have a full tank of gas. In emergency brake glass but a key is better and cheaper too. Have fun.
When I run street psi’s in TW’s other cousin XT two fitty the front is like a basketball off road. Ear regardless of what tire. I have Ax41’s due to pavement and gravel travel and rain in summer. They are pretty rugged. First time I did a “trail air down” also known as I forgot my gauge I arrived back at camp with 2 psi in front. Bit low. I run 12 ish …
I aways have. UNTIL this new truck. It has a key fob, anyone could open the truck if I had a hide a fob! LOL. Also, it's smart enough to not let you lock it in the cab. I've tried. 😁

You're right.
I passed you just before South Fork. Guess we should have turned around and chased you down, but didn't think you were stopping so soon. Maybe next time when you're passing through.
Were you in a greyish truck?
Looks like some lonely, quiet country
I'd stay a few days too.
If I had the means to carry sufficient water and fuel, I would relish the opportunity to visit such places. Once we are able to travel more freely, those are the kinds of destinations I'll seek out, especially if there's a chance to set up my telescope and gaze at the night sky.
So a lot of manganese in that piece you showed us, prolly around 1913-1915.
Never Say Never
I keep keys in my billfold
What do you have in the yellow tube inside your vehicle up over Rick's head ??
There is a reason for the desolation-that land is not fit for man or beast and could be very cruel for the unprepared. Didn't see one cow, deer, or any fauna at all in this video. Those dead cows you saw probably died from thirst or starvation, attracted to the road and fence line in hopes of finding a helpful human.
I assume if you're far enough off the beaten path you can camp overnight without a knot
Do wear gloves because your hands are cold or to help with the vibrations to ease your hands?
At that point it’s not towing its recovery.
How do you get such good drone footage when I assume there was alot of wind out there?
I put the drone up before the wind came up.
@@gonagain can I ask which drone you use? My husbands Drone flew off on him this August, lost forever. Lol
WHAT DO YOU LISTEN FOR AT NIGHT ,ARE THERE DANGERS THERE TO LOOK OUT FOR , OR IS IT SAFE THERE YOU DONT HAVE TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT.
A lot of elbow room and then some…
I would much rather watch you and Linda than Jeff and Andrew
I am so disappointed to hear that you are surrounded by evil in the city......evil? Certainly did enjoy your videos.
"God" is man made too. If there really is only one true god(s) then there would only be one religion. The Universe is the only god and it don't care about none of us.
