  • We paddle a couple of half-day locations in the western mountains of Maine. Sandy River Ponds and Quimby Pond. Not a lot of talking, just a lot of beautiful scenery. We paddle in a Wenonah super light Minnesota II, and our friends are in their new Sea Eagle TC 16 inflatable travel canoe.

Excellent - the "local anchor" idea is great. We have issues in northern Michigan with boaters accidentally transporting invasive aquatic plants.. I do have a question - what is a "man made loon"? and was happy to see everyone escape the python that attacked your canoes.. 16 ft at least... didn't know they were quite that far north, yet. Seriously - Great job all the way around. I'm looking froward to getting up there some day and experiencing it for myself - Safe Paddles. G

The man made loon is a new genetic creation. The man made loon nesting platform, however, is a tried and true location for a nesting pair of loons. 😂🤣
The snake, however, was a true threat to my sanity…especially when it came toward my hand and camera submerged in the water! 😉
