The wife, played by Geena Davis is amazing in "The Long Kiss Goodnight" alongside Samuel Jackson. Edit: I forgot about "A League Of Their Own". Awesome movie Starring her, Tom Hanks and Madonna.
OMG yes. A League of Their Own is a classic! Long Kiss Goodnight is also great, one of the earliest (I think) action films with a female protagonist NOT played by Sigourney Weaver.
A League of Their Own is a sports movie you should definitely react too! Geena Davis is great in it!
The Long Kiss Goodnight!!!! SLJ said that it's on his Top 5 performances. It's so underrated and it'll blow your mind!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
@@YolandaAnneBrown95726 Agreed it's so underrated. I loved it when I was a kid. Need to watch it again I think!
She's great in "The Fly" too! They definitely need to watch that one!
Keaton doesn’t get enough credit. one of the greatest actors of all time
He played the villain in "Desperate Measures". A GREAT villain. One of my favorites.
Keaton is absolutely terrifying in Pacific Heights. Oof
I completely concur. In my home is a huge poster sized frame “handbook for the recently deceased” displayed right next to the goonies movie poster. Iconic!
He is great.
@@cathleencooks748 No he was nominated for an Oscar for Birdman. He lost to Eddie Redmayne. The movie did win the Oscar though but I'm still mad Keaton didn't win for best actor.
Fun Trivia Fact: This film is the reason Michael Keaton got cast as Batman. At first the studio didn't think he could play a "dark" character, then they saw this.
Same director too! That helped. 😊
I actually think he was the best Batman. It was the only one I really was interested in
I think the “dark character “ you were think about was from Pacific Heights..
He was in a number of comedies.. but pacific heights.. he showed a real dark side .. check it out .
And he still my favorite batman.
You wanna get nuts?? Let's get nuts!!
Most of Michael Keaton’s part as Beetlejuice was 90% ad lib. Tom Burton said go for it!
Yeah that tracks.
A lot of stuff done in this wouldn't fly today
NOW you can see why we all loved it when you reacted to Harry Belafonte's "Jump In The Line" a couple weeks ago! Great reaction!
As parents, you guys should check out Michael Keaton in "Mr. Mom." Hilarious.
Even better was his performance in "Night Shift"!
@@Beeracuda922 And "Pacific Heights."
Multiplicity! It's such an underrated movie. It's currently on hulu.
My other favorite Michael Keaton movie !
I love so many of these early Tim Burton movies! This is one I can watch over and over. You’ll have to check out “Edward Scissorhands” too! And I agree with the people who recommend “A League Of Their Own” with Geena Davis…as a sports film I think J will enjoy it 😊
This movie left them speechless !!
I love Tim Burton's early movies! I wish he had never lost that mojo.
"There's no crying in baseball!"
Gotta do Ferris Bueller's Day Off.. another hilarious classic.
I just suggested this too!! The actor here was the Principal! 👌🏻
So many actors that you will see in other movies in here! The incomparable Geena Davis from the later movie, Thelma & Louise, playing Barbara. Alec Baldwin. The genius, Michael Keaton. Catherine O'Hara from Home Alone and Schitt's Creek. Jeffrey Jones who was the principal in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Winona Ryder, most recently from Stranger Things.
Geena Davis was great in "Tootsie"
Don’t forget A League Of Their Own. Classic!
Alec Baldwin here awww 😍😭😭
@@triciaisrad She's been in so many great movies. I didn't want to run down the complete list. Personally, my favorite of hers was when she was a total badass with Sam Jackson, in "The Long Kiss Goodnight".
@@sf0tacticalguy touché! She’s been great in so many roles. I just love ALOTO so much!!
Jordan, you mentioned liking sports movies. You should definitely check out “A League of Their Own” who stars Geena Davis (who plays Barbara the wife in Beetlejuice). It also stars a young Madonna, Rosie O’Donnell and Tom Hanks. It’s a fictionalized account of the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL
"Field of Dreams" baseball and son bonding with father
Yes!! "A League of Their Own" is a must! "Field of Dreams" too!
A league of their own was made here in Evansville Indiana and tri state area. I was there a couple days filming at Garvin Park. It was a blast!
A League of their Own, Field of Dreams, Bull Durham and Moneyball are all MUST watches
League of their own is AWESOME!!!!
Oh, and fun fact: the original ending of the movie had the Deetzes going back to New York leaving Lydia with the Maitlands. They ended up changing the end because parents abandoning their child didn't test well with audiences even back then. 😆
Does anyone else remember the ending was the parents going back to New York and leaving Lydia with the ghosts?
I'm sure that was the ending and I've seen the movie many times but just not recently .
Let me know if you remember it differently.
OMG 😲
@@njkauto2394 People in test audiences remember it that way...
oh that is what happened... i was wondering why i remembered it like u said above and said huh that is not how it ended lol thx.
And just two years later, we got to see Catherine O'Hara and the rest of her on-screen family abandon Macauley Culkin. So I guess it all depends on how you present it…? 👀
@@someTransChick In all fairness, THAT abandonment was a complete accident.
If you guys want a really funny comedy I highly suggest "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks. I still laugh out loud to that movie no matter how many times I've watched it! :)
Hands down, one of my favorite Hanks films.
"Two weeks" XD
Which is a remake of Cary Grant's Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. IMO The Cary Grant film is better.
Absolutely one of the most criminally overlooked comedies. When it first came out, I had to watch it multiple times because I couldn't stop laughing through key points.
Even Tom Hanks has bashed The Money Pit though the years, and it makes ZERO sense! It's a great comedy
Ooh that is a good one. Funny.
This was one of my favorites growing up no doubt about it. Michael Keaton in his early years although I'd seen him in quite a few other films prior to this which I highly recommend watching Mr Mom. This was the first film I ever heard my name Lydia in a film. It's hilarious and I hope you truly enjoy it
I second watching "Mr. Mom!" For me, an even more better movie than this one!
Keaton's movie "Night Shift" was fun
@@kateritter5765"Night Shift" was the first time I ever saw Michael Keaton. He made a good first impression!
My favorite of his is Multiplicity and then Nightshift. Michael has also had some good serious parts too. One Good Cop and Desperate Measures are two off the top of my head.
One of my first childhood crushes was Lydia in Beetlejuice and, subsequently, Winona Ryder in everything else she ever appeared in.
I was getting a kick out of Jay laughing and Amber was like what the heck! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Beetlejuice was played by the great Michael Keaton "Multiplicity" is another great movie to watch staring Keaton. Thank you for the reaction guys, I really enjoyed it.
Yes!! Multiplicity.
I like pizza!!😊
"Hey, Steve!"
Check out "Mr. Mom" and "Night Shift"
I can watch that now and be on the floor!
😂🤣
@@Alex-pi6jt Me too! I'm going to see if I can find it somewhere.
@@rsw1227 Haaaaa... I forgot about "Hey Steve" LOL!!
For another Michael Keaton (Beetlejuice) movie, Batman from 1989, also a Tim Burton movie. Also Mr. Mom. For another Geena Davis (Barbara) movie, A League of Their Own. (A great movie), and another Alec Baldwin (Adam) movie, Hunt For Red October.
And Heathers for Winona Ryder. :)
If you didn't recognize the voice, the song during the dinner scene was "Banana Boat (Day-O)" by Harry Belafonte. Beetlejuice was my first known exposure to both "Banana Boat (Day-O)" and "Jump in the Line". When I hear them, I automatically picture the Beetlejuice scenes.
oh god wynonna dacing in the air in the last scene makes me soooo thrilled' jump in the line' is the best
TIm Burton, the director, is the epitome of weird. You might also like Edward Scissorhands.
You guys are SO movie deprived, you've got lots of work to do!
A classic, weird, scary fun movie. Knew you guys would love it, so glad you enjoyed. Michael Keaton played Beetlejuice, geena Davies played the female of the ghost couple, Alec Baldwin was the male ghost of the couple, the young girl that could see the ghosts, that's Winona Ryder, the girls mom is Catherine O'Hara, the girls father is Jeffrey Jones, Otho was Glenn Shadix, Juno the couple's case worker was Sylvia Sidney. Beetlejuice is one of my all time fave movie's.😎👌
@Jenn Stetler Typo but you still knew who I was referring too.
One of my favorite movies when I was a kid. Beetlejuice is supposed to be scary but he's so outrageous, flamboyant and crazy that he comes across as hilarious. All Tim Burton movies have that weird aesthetic he himself has. I think you should watch Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, The Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice 2, Mars Attacks and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Is there a Beetlejuice 2?? I don't think so 🤔
@@TheOsiris66 Coming in September.
@@TheOsiris66 There is now.
I have so much respect for you guys these reactions are cool your music reactions are awesome I wish you guys nothing but all the best in your lives you got a true fan right here take care of yourselves
You guys should react to more Tim Burton films…
"Batman", "Batman Returns", "Edward Scissorhands", "Ed Wood", "The Nightmare Before Christmas", "Mars Attacks!", "Sleepy Hollow", "Big Fish"
🎥🍿
Pee Wee’s Big Adventure!
Sleepy hollow... Johnny Depp 👏👏
"Ed Wood" would go a mile over their heads.
I second ur statement on ALL* of these
*(except Ed Wood. Never seen it)
Ed Wood, a personal favorite.
They actually made a cartoon for kids out of this movie too. GenX childhood was something different. 😆
I still like the old lady administrator though, that actress didn't get enough credit for how much her nonchalant snark added to the movie. :D
I used to watch it! I agree that as a Gen Xer , we had a great childhood!
I really enjoyed the animated series! In the show, the main characters were Beetlejuice and Lydia.
"THE WEDDING SINGER" 🤣📽🍿🤣
Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore
I second that.... Jay & Amber will recognise SOOO many tunes 👌
I remember how hard it was to think of him as Bruce Wayne after this😂😂 -He completely pulled it off though 😎😎
Sylvia Sidney is legendary actress from the golden age of Hollywood. Sidney played the part of Juno in Beetlejuice. Juno is an afterlife caseworker whom the Maitlands go to for help in dealing with the afterlife and for assistance removing the Deetz's from their home. She had Beetlejuice as an assistant at one time until he decided to go "out on his own" as a "Freelance Bio-Exorcist" who claimed he could "get rid of the living". She warns the Maitlands not to summon Beetlejuice but to scare the Deetzs out of their house themselves because Beetlejuice. "does not work well with others". Sidney died from throat cancer in New York City a month before her 89th birthday, after a career spanning more than 70 years. in Tim Burton's film Beetlejuice, for which she won a Saturn Award as Best Supporting Actress. Tim Burton cast Sidney in his 1996 all-star comedy Mars Attacks!.
Beetlejuice is played by Michael Keaton, who has an impressive body of work. Most notably he is the original and IMO best film version of Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992), he also did amazing comedies like : Night Shift, Mr. Mom, Gung Ho, The Dream Team, and Multiplicity. His serious work is just as impressive with the likes of: My Life, The Paper, The Founder, and Birdman. Hope you both explore more of his work along this journey.
I even like him in small roles like Jennifer Lopez' smarmy ex boyfriend in Out of Sight. Keaton was subtle but perfectly fleshed out for not even a secondary character.
Keaton has a crazy if minor role in Much Ado about Nothing.
Gung Ho is pure comedy gold!
When Michael Keaton was cast as Batman, the reaction was very negative. Keaton was a comedic actor, why on earth would they make the mistake of casting him as Batman? Yet, he nailed it an is now the best version of Batman.
Tim Burton is one of my FAVORITE directors, nice choice y’all. For more Tim Burton (and Danny Elfman who almost always does the music for his movies) try “Edward Scissorhands” “Big Fish” and “Batman” I love his style.
The actress who plays the mother is the same actress who played Macaulay Culkin's mother in Home Alone 1&2
And the voice of Sally in the Nightmare Before Christmas.
Catherine O’Hara!
More famously won 2 Emmys for Schitt's Creek.
I grew up with this movie, I used to watch it all the time. Such a classic! 🧡🥰
The dad in this made me think of a GREAT suggestion...."Ferris Buellers' Day Off"
You will love it!!!
I have no idea why, but I was in high school when this came out and I was really obsessed with this movie. I went to the theater a ridiculous number of times to see it. Can’t wait to see your reaction, fun movie!
I was too! I took a hit of acid and watched this movie LOL!
Nothing strange about that, you obviously had exquisite taste in movies! lol
Did you watch the cartoon later?
@@canonfodder2068 i never did, i should! : )
@@Johnny_Socko : D
A childhood classic of mine! I went to see this with my parents in the theaters way back in 1988 when I was 10 years old!
The dad was also the principal in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. You should definitely check that out if you have never seen it. Classic! Ferris’s sister was played by Baby (Jennifer Grey) from “Dirty Dancing”. And maybe react to The Beatles, “Twist and Shout” before you watch the movie. 😁
Some more suggestions: "Michael" with John Travolta, "Moonstruck" with Cher, "Thelma & Louise", " This is Spinal Tap - a mockumentary", "Grease", " The Pianist", "Best In Show", " A (Hard Days Night" "Help!" - The Beatles). "Selena". " The Godfather" The original "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" , "Jesus Christ Superstar"!!
Michael Keaton has done so many amazing films and I know you will get a lot of better known suggestions, but for me The Paper is one of his best movies of all time! Amazing cast! Oh, and Mr. Mom is an 80's essential must-see! "220, 221, whatever it takes"
Seeing Geena Davis in this made me think of the movie A League of Their Own. It's a great movie starring her, Tom Hanks, Rosie O'Donnell, and Madonna. Y'all should react to that one in the future. Funny and heartwarming.
This is so campy and fun. I love this movie. 💕
The bit with the fly screaming "help me! help me!" is a reference to 1958's The Fly. It was remade in 1986 with none other than Geena Davis. Aside from being one of the only movies I've never been able to rewatch, The Fly remake also stars Jeff Goldblum who is not only terrifying to watch but was also married to co-star Geena Davis for a time (1987-1991), both Mensa members.
Mr Mom with Michael Keaton is a must see! Loved it growing up in the 80s and think you would love it, also Don’t tell Mom the Babysitters Dead is another great childhood movie I recommend
YES!! I was just wearing my Beetlejuice shirt yesterday! "I myself am strange and unusual" 🙌🏻✨Been excited for you guys to check this out since the Harry Belafonte reaction.
Couple of fun facts is that Geena Davis is actually a member of Mensa, and Alec Baldwin is indeed, "a Baldwin," only saying that bc I know Amber has seen Clueless. When Cher admits to herself that Josh is "kind of a Baldwin," it's a reference to the Baldwins circa this time period - Alec Baldwin being quite a looker and all 😏😉 Another Baldwin (Stephen) is in The Usual Suspects, great movie. There's also a hidden Jack Skellington in the climactic showdown - on top of that circus tent that Betelgeuse rises from & says "attention K Mart shoppers." Nightmare Before Christmas is still a few years away but Burton had been developing Jack for quite a long time. Michael Keaton plays Betelgeuse, he's multi-talented, in so many great movies (childhood favorite being Jack Frost), including an adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, where he essentially reproduces his role from this just as a Shakespearean guard named Dogberry.
Catharine O'Hara is iconic - her delivery of "I will go insane and I WILL TAKE YOU WITH ME!" gets me every time! You might recognize her from the first two Home Alone movies, but she also is in Penelope from 2006 that is just a phenomenal, magical movie - highly recommend it.
Also, Amber, I LOVE your shirt 😍👍🏻 Kindred sprits when you commented that you'd need some sage in this house 🤣🤣 so true! some sage, some selenite and black obsidian, and a bit of rosemary for good vibes.
Another Tim Burton movie to check out (this one might genuinely scare you, so decide for yourselves) is the thoroughly underappreciated adaptation of Sleepy Hollow from 1999 with Johnny Depp & Christina Ricci, plus another FANTASTIC cult classic with Winona Ryder in it is the dark comedy Heathers (1989) one of my favorite movies of all time.
I watched this right after reading in the news that Michael Keaton will be Batman, and after watching it, I was like, this guy? Only goes to show the genius behind both movies. And the Day-O scene, all-time classic!
Michael Keaton Is A Legend Loved The New Beetlejuice Movie My Family Loved It Michael Keaton Can Play Anything
You need to watch the CBS show Ghosts. Every one who has ever died on this estate is still in the house as a ghost and after an accident the wife of the couple that move in can see, hear and talk to all the many hilarious Ghosts. Very well written and one of the funniest shows I have seen in many years.
Love that show!
The cartoon show portrayed Beetlejuice as a main character being friends with Lydia and going on adventures together... 😂
You two really should do the movies 'School of Rock and 'A Hard Days Night'. Perfect tie ins to your music channel.
And Rocky Horror Picture Show
@@jimdau5846 I'm not sure they'd like Rocky Horror
Michael Keaton played Beetlejuice. He has been in so many great movies, including:
1) Night Shift, his first movie where he played an attendent in a morgue
2) Mr. Mom, where he became unemployed and hillariously had to stay home with the kids
3) Johnny Dangerously, where he played a gangster
4) Gung Ho where he worked in an automobile manufacturing plant bought by the Japenese
5) The Dream Team, where he and his fellow mental patients go on a wild adventure
6) The original Batman movie, where he plays Bruce Wayne/Batman
7) Pacific Heights, where he played the ultimate psycho!
8) Multiplicity, where he cloned himself and had to deal with the consequences
9) Desperate measures, where he once again plays a complete pyschopath
10) Spiderman Homecoming, where he plays the Vulture
and many others!
After catching your reaction to Shake, Shake, Senora, I was delighted to see you picked this movie! Beetlejuice is weird, funny, and a favorite from way back. Glad to see you had fun and now you have a weird visual to go with Shake Senora!
If you want to be amazed by Michael Keaton's (Beetlejuice) acting chops, go from this movie to Pacific Heights. Hard to believe it's the same guy.
Right?! Surprisingly menacing. But he’s shown more and more range and versatility over the decades.
My Mom hated this movie because my siblings and I would shout out " its showtime " every time she gave us a chore to do. Such a weird fun movie.
The movie was a lot darker and more violent in the original script.
The Maitland's death was more graphic in detail as Barbara broke her arm ends up getting broken.
Sammy Davis Jr, Sam Kinison and Dean Martin were considered for the role of Beetlejuice as he was originally going to be a shape shifting demon that takes the form o several creatures or characters including a rabid squirrel, a demonic Santa Claus, a winged Gargoyle, a short middle eastern man and a giant Easter Bunny.
The climax had Beetlejuice trying to rape Lydia and ends up killing her young sister Kathy, whom teams up and befriends the Maitlands, knowing they are ghosts.
The Deetz family and the Maitlands perform an exorcism to send Beetlejuice back to hell.
The Deetz family leave the house and return to New York, while the Maitlands live in a miniature version of their home.
"Especially for back in those times..."
Me, who was 5 years old in 88: Gee thanks for making me feel old ..... T_T
Glad you enjoyed the movie! I've seen reactors watch it and react poorly to it, over-analyzing the plot or saying they "didn't get it." There's nothing to get! It's just a fun little ghost comedy. For many years (decades?) I would say this was my favorite movie. It didn't hurt that teenage me was almost the same age as teenage Winona Ryder!
when wynona floats and dances to 'shake senora' i get tears of pure joy
Great reactions! Welcome to the weird world of Tim Burton. You should definitely check out "Edward Scissorhands" "The Nightmare Before Christmas", or "Batman", the first dark interpretation of the Batman series. Btw, the daughter was Wynona Rider, the mom from "Stranger Things". Beetlejuice is Michael Keaton. He also played Batman in the Tim Burton movies.
This movie always takes me back to my childhood! I love it. SO many well known actors are in it. I'm with the majority that recommend A League of Their Own. I think you both would love that movie.
You need to watch Tim Burton’s earlier film Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. It’s an 80s classic and put him on the map. You will love it. After Beetlejuice he went on to do Batman and Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas, all classics.
Oh Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands! We took our employees to it when it was released around Christmas time and we all loved it. It's a beautiful movie and it has the geeky kid from Breakfast Club as the bully in it.
Ferris Bueller is another iconic movie 👍👍
Keaton's performance here was why some fans were unsure of him playing Batman, but watch for yourself and see what you think . . .
Yes, he'd be great as Joker as well
It’s great that you watched this. There is talk of a long long long awaited beetlejuice 2. Wouldn’t that be fun after all of these years?
one of my favorite movies!...Especially the opening intro music!.....A Lot of the filming locations are still there!.....They even have a Beetlejuice Day too!
Never could get in to this movie. But glad y'all enjoyed it. Love watching you two! ❤️
So glad you did Beetlejuice after hearing Harry Bellefonte!!! Love this movie so much!!! Classic!!! And Michael Keaton is so hilarious!!! When amber asked what the sand worm was, I'm quoting Beetlejuice, telling her " Sand worms. Ya hate 'em, right? I hate 'em myself!"
I have a suggestion for the list: One of the best soundtracks of the 80's belongs to a vampire movie. You owe it to yourselves to do "The Lost Boys."
Yessss, Lost Boys is an classic not to be missed!
This movie was so huge it generated a Saturday morning cartoon out of this. I was 7 when it came out and is still a great movie. Gone are the days when movies are this original.
Yes finally! “Say it once. Say it twice. Third times the charm. And remember I’ll eat anything you want me to eat. I’ll swallow anything you want me to swallow. So come on down now. I’ll chew on the dog.” I have seen this movie probably more than any movie ever. It has to be in the hundreds of times.
A League of Their Own is a must! Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Madonna ..... great cast!
Beetlejuice is the great Michael Keaton. This became phenomenon in its day even spawned a cartoon show with Beetlejuice and Lydia as the main characters. Some really great actors in this movie some becoming really big stars Gina Davis, Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin, Catharine O'Hara, Jeffrey Jones(played the principal in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, another great movie comedy some called it a live action Looney Tunes cartoon).
Lol it kills me that you are able to leave a ❤️ for comments here while my heart is falling out of my chest with unseen requests on your Rob Squad Reactions channel!
Beetlejuice was played by Michael Keaton he was Batman in the version with Jack Nicholson as the Joker
I watched this movie in the theater with my best friend back in ‘88, and it has been a favorite ever since. It’s great to see fellow GenX member Winona Ryder doing so well today with the success of Stranger Things.
You asked "How do you recover after all this". You don't entirely, the girl who played Lydia is Winona Ryder, who has been starring in Stranger Things the last few years. Makes Beetlejuice look tame.
A great 80's movie that you will love..."Revenge of the Nerds"!!!....Oh yeah "Ferris Beuler's Day Off" also
You have been posting some amazing reactions. I'd like to suggest a few. Willow, Time Bandits, Mom & Dad Save the World, and Kung Fu Hustle. For the last one, I suggest watching the English dubbed version the first time (it's a Chinese film).
Especially Willow and Time Bandits.
Time Bandits!! Kung Fu Hustle!!!
"Hot Tub Time Machine"
The dubbed version of Kung Fu Hustle is vastly inferior though.
Terri Garr FTW! Time Bandits is definitely the better movie, but Mom & Dad Save the World is a whole lot of silly fun, especially if you’ve already suffered through the 1980 Flash Gordon film.
I remember seeing this in a theater at our mall. We had a KMART in the mall...so the part where Beetlejuice says "attention KMART shoppers" was crazy and the entire theater laughed.
I always found Wynonna cute and seeing her in Stranger Things, I still find her cute!
It's also funny to think that the man who played Bettlejuice (Michael Keaton) went on to play *Batman!*
The way Amber said that's so nasty...😂 definitely my new quote I love her she is so awesome I love both you guys you're the best I watch your reactions all the time music and movies I'm sitting here now eating my Spanish spaghettis by myself I'm watching this movie with you guys as if I've known you for years laughing talking with you yes I'm talking to the TV LOL you seem like such a genuine Pleasant people to be around keep doing what you're doing because we love every minute of it kisses from Philadelphia 😘
Great reaction you two! 😊
This is another one of my favorite movies. And with a great cast. This has been one of my go-to feel good movies lately.
I highly recommend the 1989 "Batman".
Looking forward to your next movie and music reactions. 😊
I'm in my 40's I loved this as a kid. When my lil 8 yr old niece got into it I loved that we had a movies in common
I'm so glad you reacted to this movie! It's one of my favorites! Next you need to react to Xanadu. So much ELO music is to be heard in it! ✨
Also check out Michael Keaton in the first Batman movie. You'd think he was the best gymnast of all time!
DAY-O !!!
There's a music reaction for you two to do...!!!!...
Glad you enjoyed the film...👍😉...🌿🌿🌿
I didnt know i needed this reaction! Edit: If you want you could react to the the beetle juice cartoon. It ran 4 seasons starting in '89 so if you like it there will be plenty of content I was almost 8 when this came out. Loved the movie and your reaction to it. Beetle juice is the bad guy of the movie but Michael Keaton plays him so well that he is a beloved char in film.
Saw this in theaters as a small child! Love it just as much now, as I did back then.
Loved Harry Belafonte's "Dayo". You guys should check out Mule Skinner and Midnight Special and On Top of Old Smoky. Killer songs!
My oldest daughter was 6 when I got her the vhs tape of this. She was obsessed with this movie, would watch it rewind & watch 5 or 6 more times
From this I would suggest another Tim Burton fable movie, Edward Scissorhands, and a Michael Keaton comedy movie Mr. Mom for a parent role reversal.
"That's a bad day!" Just a little bit. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh cool! Time Bandits is another weird Monty-Pythonesque movie, Edward Scissorhands for Tim Burton (also Corpse Bride). Coraline is a great movie from a book by Neil Gaiman. Little Shop of Horrors is dark but funny and also a musical (see the one from the 80s, not the earlier one).
Seconding little shop of horrors! Not a horror movie and the music is phenomenal
Another early Michael Keaton film is Mr. Mom. And he also starred in the movie Night Shift, which also starred Henry Winkler and Shelley Long. Two comedies from the early 80s.
You two as a couple looked puzzled when they sit near the guy with the "Shrunken Head" in the recently deceased waiting room... Apparently, that was an ancient practice from the Amazon rainforest aborigines. Shrinking heads of their enemies. Not sure of the validity of the practice but who knows? You actually see Beetlejuice getting his head shrunk at the end lol 😂
I've seen real ones in a museum, although it's just the skin shrunken and placed over a wooden head, not the actual skull.
Oh shrunken heads were/are a real thing. They are highly sought by collectors on the black market. It takes special licensing to lawfully possess them.
@@AndrewwarrenAndrew wow interesting!
@@tahliasgoddaddy ewww... Can't believe people would actually collect something like that... I guess like scientist yes but collectors? Sounds demented lol
It has to be a museum or something where there on display mainly for historical significance. Some rich elite get off on having something noone else can, the more macabre the better.
There are some sick puppies out there.
I love this movie. The red haired woman is Catherine O'Hara a great Canadian-American comedic actress that started out on a comedy series called Second City TV, She has been in many films and TV productions, and still is.
The girl on here is the mom from Stranger Things. Winana Ryder
I was at a club around Halloween and there was a guy dressed as Beatlejuice and it was spot on. A perfect costume. Random fun fact that event was Skeletor Karaoke. Skeletor introduced each person on stage with some jokes and every time someone was bad he rang a giant gong.
Around the same time The Lost Boys came out. Another horror comedy but this time about vampires. Both great movies. Have seen both hundreds of times. In the same weird vane is Toxic Avenger. Also hilarious. Offbeat TV from then would be the original MST3K. Mystery Science Theater 3000.
I prefer Lost Boys to Beetlejuice
Love that film! A couple of music related pieces of trivia: the lady at the dinner party that was smoking cigarettes and mostly quiet is Adelle Lutz, who at that time, was married to David Byrne. The film was scored by Danny Elfman who was the frontman for the 80s band Oingo Boingo. He has scored a few Tim Burton films as well as many others.
Watch "The Jerk".
Steve Martin

Fun reactions!
Some other Tim Burton films you’ll likely enjoy are EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990), ED WOOD (1994), MARS ATTACKS (1996), SLEEPY HOLLOW (1999), SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET (2007), and DARK SHADOWS (2012).
All but Mars Attacks featuring/staring Johnny Depp
