    I was just fitted into a set of JPX923 Forged last month, and you're right about Mizunos! The BEST feeling irons I have ever hit in 35 years of playing golf. I played Titleist blades far too long - my ego was out of control - and finally got sick of my 11.5 handicap swing trying to hit a pin-sized sweet spot. The Mizunos have changed my game! Love your videos!

      Had a love/hate relationship with AP2/TMB/T100/T150 for a decade. I'm permanently over Titleist irons, Mizunos on order. I do game a TSr3. It's fantastic.

      I got tired of the ball not going anywhere. My 2019 t-100s were all carry and spun too much. Got tired of trying to be perfect on every shot. Got fit for 245s still waiting for them to come in but I was hitting piss missles at the fitting.

      @@gjones9558 If you're getting bored with the 923 Forged, 245 might not be enough of an upgrade and you should check the 243 unless you really just love the blade look. 243 is very forgiving for me as a 9 - 12 hcper. Almost got a hole-in-one today in very difficult conditions. I was also low score between two groups of buddies who have similar skill. All the others have more forgiving irons like 921 JPX, Sim2 Max, AP1, Ping 700, etc. 243 were the best looking, best feeling, best performing today. Just make sure to get fit for the right shafts.

    Just a quick comment.
    You might want to try the Modus 130 iron shaft. Nice launch, higher, but flattens out.
    It’s actually 124 grams in stiff and it’s just a touch stiffer.

    Coming back to golf after a long hiatus. Just got fitted last night (in the UK) into 243's. They feel amazing! I hit loads of different types last night - Titleist, Cobra, etc but the MP's felt streets ahead. I know it's just my opinion and I'm not being disrespectful to other brands. Can't wait to get going with them.

    Great video! Thank you.
    I grew up playing small blades and i just tried the 241’s in a 6,8 and PW.
    Wonderful trajectory and had a couple of kick in Birds!
    I think we are getting carried away in the golf industry regarding distance. Trevor, your swing changed after you hit the first ball with the 241. Good balance and tempo!
    Im 70, and tried all of these distance irons. Not for me. I still get close to par occasionally but it’s not how far i hit a 5 iron!
    Hope to get over to Denver in the fall to meet you gentleman.

    I got fitted last week and hit pretty much every single iron/shaft that's out right now... Every single data point(dispersion, backspin, apex, ball speed, etc) was better by a significant margin with the 243s, including my misses. I got them 2º weak with an $-Taper 130 shaft, and they'll get here at the end of this week. Got 4 Iron - Gap. Can't wait to get them out on the course!

    Great review as usual. I love seeing and hearing about new product from both the tech and looks side. Only issues I have with yearly release of products is that there is really no performance difference from the last year 's model. This is where I do prefer a release of every other year but even then there is no real difference. Now I am looking forward to y'all doing the new Callaway as I've seen reviews of them and they look very interesting at least for me the driver and fairway's. Hope to see that soon.

    I’ve been playing Mizuno for a few years now. Currently in JPX 923 HMP but did have the MP 225 for a little while. I loved the 225’s but the forgiveness of the JPX irons was what I needed- only downside is the stronger lofts and hot face (28.5 deg 7 iron) makes it a little hard to hit partial shots but retain any kind of stopping power. You almost have to make a normal swing to get decent enough launch conditions. Now that my ball striking is improved, I’m eager to do a head-to-head with those and the 243/245.

    Will be seeing a Mizuno fitter soon in Ohio--you guys a bit far away however, but it is great to see both 6 & 14 handicappers hit these Mizuno irons. I was fitted with Titlist S-100's fit two years ago, but have played Mizuno & Callaway irons previous to my Titlist irons. I left those to get more distance with a more distanced forged club as Mizuno didn't jump on the lower lofts for a few years. Excited as I think I'll get more forgiveness yet still have the ability to curve shots with the 243's. As a senior golfer who started playing golf in the 60's, I grew up with blades and balata balls which we learned from necessity to work and control the ball more--but for me, that's part of the fun in hitting those golf shots "when needed." Great demo! Ed

    Been playing Mizuno irons for 26 years. Currently have JPX 919 Tour and considering 243 or Titleist T150 for improved feel and forgiveness. The 919's drag some on turf interaction and click sound if mishit.

    Is doing a fitting even relevant when you're a 15+ handicap? I only ask because I'm in that group of people and I'm in the market for clubs. I feel like I should be looking at preowned irons vs new fitting clubs because my game is no where near scratch.

    • @embersgolf
      @embersgolf  3 месяца назад

      I think getting fitted is Key! Even if you end up buying used clubs you should know what shaft works the best for you so you can find a set with that shaft or a similar shaft on it. Hope that helps, thanks for watching. Some golf shops will give you a fitting for a small fee so you know what shaft works with your swing.

    Maybe a little late since you might have ordered them by now. When I hit the 243 this last weekend with an 87 mph swing speed in the 7 iron. I was averaging 6200 spin and 115ft height 170 yard carry with very little roll. So I’m wondering if you tested it more with center strikes you might not want to back the loft off 2 degrees. I was hitting with a stiff shaft but I don’t know which one it was.

    • @embersgolf
      @embersgolf  5 месяцев назад +1

      I think at sea level we would leave them stock. But here in Denver the altitude gives us so much extra yardage that the flight and spin are key. But for sea level I think your exactly right! Thanks for watching 👍
