I needed to adjust my peep up and that caused it to be rotated quite a bit...so much that it was close to 180. I took off the traditional serving style, turned the peep around and used your technique. Your tie in technique was quite easy, looks very clean, and obviously, very robust. This video was perfect for me. The outcome on the peep is fantastic. Thank you for the video.
Love all your videos man! You make it easy to understand and break things down. I’m new to bows and bow hunting and Some of the shops around me just make me feel dumb and aren’t helpful so I appreciate your content. Your hunts are epic too but I love the knowledge you share most!
AWESOME ! Josh If Your Telling Us Its The Best Way To Tie On The Peep Sight !! ITS THE BEST WAY TO TIE ON A PEEP PERIOD!! I Trust Your Judgement Any Day. You Definitely Know Your Stuff !! 👊
Best way to tie other than conventional way, but a real pain and careful work to remove the material when time comes to string repair or peep adjustment.
Hello Josh. This is interesting way to tie a peep. I will need to try it. Thank you for sharing this info. If you want this peep even more secure, wax threads with a hot glue stick prior using them for tying the peep. Wax them the same way you would do a regular waxing. So, when you tie knots, the thread will heat up because of the friction. This heat will melt the glue on the thread and fix it with the string and the peep even stronger. I use the same method for tying nocking points. It works well.
Dang, Man! Can't thank you enough for this video. I've been half afraid to touch my bow for fear of screwing it up. Instead- I've been paying others to screw my bow up for me. It get's downright depressing. This time- I Watched your video, used your instructions and voila! Peep is ANCHORED on that string, and wife and daughter get movie night on me (which is where my money should have gone in the first place)! Now I'm onto your video on re-setting my D-loop and tying in a serving "spacer" so that my nocks don't pinch or point up (ie, your video A HUGE MISTAKE Archers Make & EASY FIX).. Can't thank you enough. Honestly, THANK YOU!! oh, and Happy New Year.
Very good way to tie in a peep! Thanks! Never have seen it done that way! Just a suggestion...If someone wanted to secure the -- Vees you could half hitch all the way down to the desired point and then half hitch the Vees shut 6 or so times?!?! Anyway great vid 👍🏽
I'm very new to the compound bow and really enjoy to see people hunt with them!... I've notice that a lot of people use the RX5 hunting because it is somewhat forgiving and very durable while keeping a decent weight!... I'm really a computer programmer by trade (Business Intelligence Developer that works in Dev-Ops for a very large top 5 Corporation). It's been a joy to see people really having fun with their bows to do target practice and real actual hunting adventures!... In fact I took the plunge just recently and bought an Hoyt RX5 Alpine because of admiring the design of the bow with forgiveness within reason. I bought Realtree Edge clothing for hunting, arrow tips that are proven to go through Elk and practice tips on 400 grain carbon arrows with inserts... Trophy Ridge Bow Sight React Pro 7 Rh... Hoyt carbon lightweight quiver and building this bad boy to do what it was intended when it comes to hunting. My point is that it is people like you that has brought me into this hobby of enjoying time with a bow while learning good tools to understand in life! Thank you for being there giving your advice with great care! This is one of the major reasons of why I chose archery at it's finest! A great addition to go with a 4x4 pickup truck! BTW: I always give my knowledge away for free and even have my own dedicated website to helping other's learn what I have over the years in Azure web development with C Sharp programming, T-SQL data structures, Cloud based technologies and have always believed that knowledge is dead if it is not passed on in life! There may be more than one way to get the results, but over time you always refine your techniques in a more direct nature because of wisdom! If SHTF, at least I will have the capabilities with what's around me to survive as the mountains are very near by! (Bellevue, WA) My appreciation goes out to you!... Thank you!!!
Just got the ABB platinum strings for my RX3 ultra, bowmar nose button, Bowmar Cam draw stops and this peep tie in..! Looks sweet as and the back wall is much firmer..! Nose button is a winner no face pressure on the strings..! Cheers for the helpful info as I’m on my ace here in the UK and no one to learn from..!
Great video one day I will be able to work on my bow. I just need to save up for the equipment to do all the maintenance and tuning for my bow. I will definitely save this video. Thank you
Thank you so much brother for all the information and techniques videos.... Im an avid firearms precision shooter who reloads my own ammo with close attention to details based off MY needs.... But... Recently got back into archery not that long ago, and i wanted to take the same level of attention and detail and apply it to my archery equipment as well.... I ABSOLUTELY HATE taking my bow into my local shops.... They do the work to sublevel standards just to pump the work orders off the shelves and get people out of the way.... Im just about dog tired of paying inflated prices for subpar work and then being ignore at their indoor range when im trying to discuss a problem with tuning or knock kicks, peep rotation at full draw or peep hieght adjustments..... Your videos most definately help with my becoming more self dependant and knowledgable about my archery equipment... Learning from you is starting a fire of passion into extreme precision archery, and i must say... The more work i do on my equipment and fine tuning, the more lethal my skills have become...... Ive gone from inch and a half/ 2inch groups at 30yrds (my top pin zero) with archery shops tuning and work to dime size groups with your help.... Cant thank you enough... Love your channel... Love your content... PLEEEAASE dont ever stop making videos!!!!! Haha
Wow thank you so much for the love and support! This message really does mean a lot to us. We plan to keep posting content that we find helpful for y'all!
if you use opposing half hitches( one from the top, next from the bottom, then back from the top, etc) you can keep the hitch knots in a strait ,uniform line, instead of in a spiral pattern.i use this on my gt fishing knots. perhaps you can keep it behind the edge of your bow string.i love the way you executed this.very strong.
i cant believe i got a response.lol,i love your channel,i got a new gas bowstring coming in the mail next week, and im going to try the hamskea raptor peep tied in like this.also just seen your nose button to kisser button vid,and luckily i have your 2 pack.keep up the great content.
After having my peep adjusted and tied in at the local Archery club, my peep slides up and down the sting 1/2".. I got the nose button and peep tuners and going to tie this in myself. You made it look fairly easy but super stable.. Thanks for sharing.. peAce
This method is super quick and easy, and looks like it would be faster shooting and more balanced than the way mine is tied in right now. The kid at the archery shop did a great job, but it took a long time and used a ton of serving (it's wrapped all the way up the split). I'll have to show them this, it looks just as solid and saves material.
Seems like you could do a small section of serving above and below peep where the string comes back together to alleviate the issue of debris/brush snagging on your string while hunting with this pee tie in method?
I’m definitely gonna have to try this. Since I’ve been using the hamskea insight peep, for some reason it starts to fray/cut my string and eventually looks like crap. Hopefully this does the trick
I got aftermarket string an my peep has not moved the stock Hoyt string I think it was fuse that string was awful it's amazing what a aftermarket string will do i strongly recommend I was at Lancaster archery caz I live close to there I had wanted the gas ghost string they ordered me an Las string I guess Lancaster archery makes strings anyway I have no complaints hope that helps
Josh ! This is awsome !!! I tied a ton versions of standart stuff with backserving and tons of Chrisbee (Style) and so on. But nothing is that solid as this !! Awsome Stuff ! Keep going 💪🏼I learned so much from you and love your Channel 🏹🤜🏼🤛🏼
Just tied in a peep using this method that came loose after going to the bow shop and a half assed tie in by the shop tech..! Looks legit now.. ain’t going no where..!
Hello Josh what peep is that called if you don’t mind? It’s a lot more chunky than anything else I’m looking at. I can only seem to find the simple washer style peep, where yours is a lot longer tube style? I would really appreciate it if you could leave some sort of link, Cheers mate 👍🏻
I’m not sure which serving he is using, but a great go to is something around .020 for tying in peeps and Nocking points. BCY Halo serving is some of the best serving out there. Hope this helps!
Yeah this is probably the the most secure tie in. the weakest part of this tie in is the serving around the peep. So ofc that's where it broke for me after I was done tying, and tried to see if I could move the peep
Found this video today. I had cut my peep loose because I'm going from a wrist release to a thumb release and anchor changed. Now, I have a Podium Peep coming next week, so I probably should have waited, but I just needed to shoot with my new release. How hard is it going to be for me to cut this loose when I change peeps next week?
Index your D loop and serving your peep in the opposite direction of the twisting helps alot but half to a full twist on a string then re-centering your peep and re-tieing it in gives you much better results
If other methods are driving you crazy with peep twist AFTER you tie in.... this one will not! Glad I ran across this video!
Great instructional video. Took my old tie off and used this tie today. It’s awesome. Thanks Josh!!
CAN I JUST TAKE A SECOND TO FORGET ABOUT THE PEEP STUFF AND SAY... THAT'S A FOKKEN COOL T-SHIRT!!! LOVED IT!!!

This is legit! If you do this bow shops will cuss you. The peep won't move and it doesn't untie very easily. Great combo for staying put. Thanks Josh
First time ever tying a peep and its absolutely rock solid.

Love it will do to my bow, keep videos coming. I'm 65 and still learning 🙂
That's absolutely badass man. I love the half hitching method! Amazing work.
I love it too!
Man I'm glad you did this video. This makes tying in my peeps so much easier. Thank you.
I have learned so much from just watching a few of your videos - thank you.
Glad to help thank you!

Josh does everything the best I don't see anyone more dedicated then him love it🏹🏹🏹🤙🤙
Thank You, Josh for making making teaching videos like this very helpful, and very much appreciated and needed!!
Glad you were able to take something from it!! Thank you for the support!
I have had so much aggravation with peep movement. THanks for sharing.

Love this. I've a string made from Bloodline material that's super slippy. This is the only method I've found which keeps it in place.
This is definitely the best way. And easy too.
This method is super quick and easy, and looks like it would be faster shooting and more balanced than the way mine is tied in right now. More weight on the string and it will slow down your fps. When you strive for every bit of performance it makes a difference.
Seems like you could do a small section of serving above and below peep where the string comes back together to alleviate the issue of debris/brush snagging on your string while hunting with this pee tie in method?
Excellent method! Thank you for posting this video.
Was hoping you would do a vid like this just last week when my peep kept popping out, looks solid and pretty easy, will try it out, thanks 👍
I’m definitely gonna have to try this. Since I’ve been using the hamskea insight peep, for some reason it starts to fray/cut my string and eventually looks like crap. Hopefully this does the trick
Hey Josh, what peep is that? Thanks for the teaching.👊🏼💯
Wish I woulda seen this video 2 years ago. Nice job!!
Love the vids. Can't wait to try out the peep tuner 👍
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for this video. Just used it to retire my peep. Awesome stuff
Yep going to try it tonight that has got to be the most simple
Thanks man
Thanks for another video of good tips. Really appreciated.
Thanks for watching man!
Thanks josh!! I just did that to my hunting rig and I love it!!
Happy to hear that man!
That is an bad ass tie i like it THANKS
great idea it works great going to go to the range and see how it holds up thanks!
Thanks man!
Can you do a video on fixing peep rotation?
Yes! Dealing with this right now.
Agree!! Peep rotation video would be great!
@@TheBowdoc1 u might have to ad half or full twist to string. It stretches after awhile, so things tend to shift👍
What peep sight is that?? And size??
Love the shirt 👏🏻👌🏻
Awesome! Definitely archiving this video for my new setup.
You are slowly becoming my goto archery guy , thank yall both for your awesome services ! . my question , why havent You ever competed in pro-comp ?
Love it, gonna do this to my peep immediately!!!! Great content as well really enjoying your videos!
Thanks for the support buddy
Great video!
Is this the Speciality archery PXL hunter Peep? If so how do you like it??
Nice! What kind of peep is that?
Subbed, liked. Good video. 🤙
Cool technique, can you use the constrictor knot above and below to close the gaps?
@bowmarbowhunting
You sure can man thanks for watching
Cool video always like learning something new thank you
Just tied in a peep using this method that came loose after going to the bow shop and a half assed tie in by the shop tech..! Looks legit now.. ain’t going no where..!
Glad to hear man
Keep up the videos my bro
Thanks man
Looks like it will also help prevent the peep cutting Into the string this way 👍🏻
nice, defiantly will give this a try next time i change strings
You know so much. You could build your own bow! Wait, that would be a cool video. 😂😂😂
Which peep sight do you use its not Hamskea as i can sse?!
You said that right make sure you peep is on the right position, it won’t be adjusting later
Hello Josh what peep is that called if you don’t mind? It’s a lot more chunky than anything else I’m looking at. I can only seem to find the simple washer style peep, where yours is a lot longer tube style? I would really appreciate it if you could leave some sort of link,

Looks awesome. Going to try this.
What serving Material did you use ???
Nice video will definitely try that out . Thanks
What do you do if you draw back and its 1/8 turn out
Thanks man. I might have to try this.
Will be trying this
Awesome video thank you
Specialty archery hunting peep is that? , Looks like it . Is your loud when shooting the bow mine seems to be. Great video
This was very much needed
Do you use a verifier or a clarifier in your peep
What size serving string are you using ?? Are you using .014 ? Or something else.
Just tied this on my new Kure it's awesome
Is this the speciality archery PXL hunter verifier peep?
Nice video ¡¡¡ What model its your peep?
How would you replace the peep if you needed to
Love the content!
What type of serving are you using to tie in?
I’m not sure which serving he is using, but a great go to is something around .020 for tying in peeps and Nocking points. BCY Halo serving is some of the best serving out there. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the tips!! Would love to hear your thoughts on a varifier in your peep!
If I ever get a hunting recurve I will try this for sure.
Definitely going to do this. Thank you!
how do you keep that peep straight with sight and eye? Wow.
Yeah this is probably the the most secure tie in. the weakest part of this tie in is the serving around the peep. So ofc that's where it broke for me after I was done tying, and tried to see if I could move the peep
Just tied my peep in using this video, and it is rock solid. Great method, super easy
What is the best placement for a nose button? Is it supposed to dig into your nose
It should hit right under your nose!
@@BowmarBowhunting okay thank you
Awesome!
Love the channel

Love half hitches 4 anchoring in a peep... Hate half hitches when removing a peep.. worst knot to remove from a bowstring.
Let's go!
As a new bow hunter what would you suggest bow wise?
Excellent thanks
What size apparature peep do you shoot josh?
The upper "Hoyt Hole Shot" string dampener...do you just leave those off?
I am curious as well.
What brand peep is that
It’s from my company Bowmar Archery!
Wow that is awesome
Great, thx ! Can you also teach us how to get rid of peep rotation ?
Does it depend of the D Loop ?
Ull need to add twist to your string or index ur d loop to pull it peep straight when u draw. But adding twist to ur main is really the only way.
Index your D loop and serving your peep in the opposite direction of the twisting helps alot but half to a full twist on a string then re-centering your peep and re-tieing it in gives you much better results
What diameter of serving do you use?
.18 power grip
What size serving do you recommend?
gerhardt54 check outTim Gillinghams video on peep ties. Pretty much same way I think but gives thread info as well
I’m trying this I like that it’s not pulling the two half’s of string together
What kind of Peepsight is that?
Podium peep with adjustable aperture
