    The greatest thrust required and most fuel consumed is at take off working to lift over 300 tons of load off the ground, once that’s established and maintained, full throttle is no longer needed. Engines were not designed to remain at full power for a long time rather than it will reduce their life time. The higher the plane flies the faster it goes through the air particles and less fuel it burns for one reason. Air is so thin at higher altitudes. It’s just physics put into art.

      I thought I was the only one who feels that way. Never rode on a 777 but I love takeoffs the longer roll the better. I’m a Christian and perhaps others have experienced this. As soon as the plane lifts off and heads toward the clouds, I tear up and feel a sense of the Lord. Not sad or fear at all but probably looking at the world from a different perspective. I only fly once a year or so for the last 25 of my 55 years but I still enjoy the flight.

      @@samanthaanne246 Long Ago a flew AA 10 hours non stop in the most ratty economy seat possible and the noise was insane, like almost the plane was about to fall appart. Not joking. I couldnt get 10 minutes of sleep. Very noisy cabin. Probably interiors were not dampening the sound properly I dont know. It was a 777. On the retunr one, there was a cracking sound everytime the wing flexed bad due to tubulence. I know that is not the wing, just plastics moving ... still it was like a joke. I love this beasty sound, but 10 hours onboard with -10 legroom you start to hate everything. I them took a 3 hour combination in a pretty old AA jet, probably a 737, leg room was like a mansion. I feel asleep like a baby, much quieter jet. Probably I was exhausted too .... If I need to fly again to US ... AA is out of the list. I would rather fly Iberia.

Landing east or west, it is still georgous, and i have seen so many stupendous clouds from my cockpit. Hard to believe i got paid to fly. BEautiful city- far too damn crowded. • @palonazo
      @palonazo 6 лет назад

      ron oswald I meant what you said makes no sense. You said you can't see the wings because you can only flex metal so much till it breaks. As if material stress depended on you seeing it happen. Airplane wings can flex A LOT. In fact, far more than the most extreme flight conditions would ever bend them. They're tested. Also, nobody cares if you fly first or coach.

    • @FredtheDorfDorfman1985
      @FredtheDorfDorfman1985 5 лет назад +2

      @@palonazo yea, in testing they clamp a test wing's root into a large clamp, and use a large hydrolic piston to bend the wing tip up until finally around an upward bend angle of about 70 degrees the wing spar fails with a loud bang! The whole test rig jumps and shutters when it happens. That's a lot of flex and energy that it takes to break a modern airliner wing, especially if it includes titanium and composites that flex more easily than aluminum. That's why new aircraft development costs so much money. Test wings to bend and break, fuselages and windows to blow up for pressure, decompression, and bird strike tests, and landing gear to slam down on hard touchdown test rigs. Just like the engine industry taking expensive turbofan engines and destroying them in blade out tests to see if the casing contains the loose blade(s), ya have to know what it takes to destroy an aircraft/engine so you'll know if they'll be safe.

    Between ATL and DFW, I was the only person in First Class. There were two pax in Business, and a smattering in Coach.

    Hope to see more plane take off video’s. Just listening to the roar of the engine is quite good. And no one pressing the assistance button constantly surprisingly with the ding dong noise.

    The mighty GE90 throttling up to that wicked buzz saw roar is one of my all time favorite jet sounds.

    Take off is my first favorite part with the rush of speed and landing is the best part feeling those tires touch on the ground safely!
