- Mike and I are back at it again metal detecting an old homesite that we discovered in a large soybean field. This site had never been detected before, and we found colonial coppers and large U.S. cents. It was a day to remember!

Whoa! Look up! Hold your breath! 'Town and Village' service escutcheon. Looks like old fridge ice box hinge. Door knocker 6:05. Great finds! Mahalo for the companionship!
Some really interesting little finds today, thanks guys i enjoyed watching.
Wonderful finds Chiggs and Mike, love the excitements in your voices. You always have fun finding relics and treasures. Keep having fun.👍👏👏😀😀
that brass hinge looks like something off of a trunk.
4:52 ive seen buckles like this on an integral half belt on old style pants to cinch it up in back for a better fit. ive also seen something similar, but bigger i think, on m-1 garand and m-14 slings.
mikes large badge kinda reminds me of a stutz radiator badge. but id have to see a close up pic of it.
another great video!
Hi Chigg, enjoyed watching you and Mike out there. Lots of good things ❤
NICE VIDEO !!! Need to go back to UK and do some more River Hunters 😅
Hey from VA. Awesome finds today guys!!!! GR8 to see ya out there with Chiggy again Mikey. Keep on detecting.
Thanks for watching, appreciate your kind words!
Mike is always so enthusiastic, must be still a young bloke. Anyhow, a good day out by the looks of the finds.
Good evening from Syracuse NY brother and everyone else thank you for sharing your adventures
Good evening to you too from wherever I am.
@aquachigger congratulations on your finds everyone
Pretty cool hunt, guys! Nice finds!!!
Love the little ball button,
I just saw one of those babies!
I have to get into a corn field Great hunt fellas
You guys did good out there. That horseshoe-like item makes me think it's part of a door knocker.
Well done fellows great hunt keep hunting more there
Ciao ottima caccia al tesoro, bellissimi ritrovamenti, buona caccia alla prossima 👍
Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed watching. Nice coins!
Awesome hunt guys. Great to see Mike again. Way to go on all of those coppa's . Those coins seem to elude me.
Glad you enjoyed it! They sure do like to hide those Copper's!
Well done Lads!
Nice finds today!
Thanks! I had a lot of fun on this hunt.
Nice 1812 copper!
Town and Village Insurance service badge. Established in 1928
is it the sort of thing youd mount on the vehicle youve insured?
Sure 'nuf. Would have had a lot better shot at it if they had actually shown us all the writing! 🙂
@@thurin84all i could find is 2 examples and both are being held so 🤷🏼♂️
@@jimnorthland2903
I had to blow it up and change the tint to understand what it was.
The hinge you found at 3:57 is an ice box hinge. I have a couple of boxes of them for my restorations.
My guess for Mikes find at 6:20 is a handle for a chest, one at each end and pivots from 6-12 when lifted....could be many things but i can see that on a chest or even some sort off metal ammo style box.
Nice 1817!
The item with the little teeth could be for suspenders maybe?
sunflower stubble, I can smell it from here !
Nice old coppers, congrats. Thanks Chigg
👍
The mystery find of Mike's looks like the basement door pull that my grandparents house had. It was inlayed into the floor and you used a ladder to get into the cellar.
Thanks for the info.
Definitely a hand hold designed to pivot either in to carry position or back down to be stowed away after use. I commented carry handle from one end of a box/chest, i just love trying to detect what some of the find Chigg and co find...so interesting.
4:50 that’s a suspenders buckle … And the ornamental horse shoe a door knocker … Garontee !!!
Yes, that makes sense. Thanks
Those 1817 Large Cents are one of each variety if you didn't notice. Mike's was the 13 stars and Chigg's was the 15 stars variety.
Oh interesting. Thanks for that.
Awesome contrails in the background
Wow. I saw a "stone square" in my dream that was very similar to this buckle!
The little protrusion on the pull is made to hit the brass plate that would have been behind it so the bottom of the pull didn’t hit the drawer front repeatedly and mark it.
4:27 Looks like a suspender clip
Yes they had them in Nineteen sixty's for boy's or brace's oversea's I wore them hey they worked!!!
GO CHIGG🇺🇸
Thanks!
Thank you. I really appreciate the donation and you watching my videos!
when are you visiting New Zealand, for our Tourism TV channel,
That would be an awesome trip.
@@aquachigger NZtourism gives funding,
Cool finds …
Not 1st!
14th like, happy monday, chigg
Thanks for joining in on the adventure!
@aquachigger your welcome, love your awesome adventures
Cchig, you should just say, "I woun't know untill I Put my reading glasses on.", because it is quite obvious that you can not see details close up.
Have you tried using the Deus 2 metal detector. what's so great with the new garret ace metal detector.
I have one. It's a good detector.
👊🤩👍
What the heck were they doing at this site? All those buttons. Ripping their clothes off. 😅😂
Some body likes your video!!👍😊
My friend found a couple of civil war (I believe) .58 bullets with 12 rings instead of the usual 3 rings. The nose is mostly flat. Would you have any idea what they might be?
Yall make sure to hit the like button!
Mike's starting to look Amish!
Do the coins have value to a collector?
Curious... Were Tombac button loops soldered on?
Or were they cast into the button?
I think there’s a correlation between the amount of solder that they had do use on a tombac button because of the arsenic content in the metal.?
@taxesdeathandtrouble.1886 I appreciate your response.
So are you saying the loop was soldered onto the button after it was cast?
To clarify.
I'm wondering if they were made in two pieces.
Or if they were cast as one?
I’m presuming two, in this case. There are other buttons that are molded.
@@taxesdeathandtrouble.1886 I presume you don't have a clue...
Thanks anyway.
@FoulOwl
@ Metal detecting 24 is a great metal detecting channel, he hunts in Germany and finds many one piece molded buttons. He shows clearly at the end of all of his videos his finds. Very few soldered loops.
Cheers
What words are on the mystery piece? Looks like there's a T and V on it. What's it say across the top? Might be a town volunteer helmet badge of some kind like fire or safety patrol.
It's an advertisement for town and village insurance Co. 1930s. Thanks for asking us. This Is Mike. 😊
@gr8finds196 ok great finds Mike.
@@imawehole thanks!!!
@@gr8finds196 I think it's a grill badge. The company is still in business (Columbus, Ohio) and they have kept the logo from that era
1st
Part of a suspender buckle maybe ?
MABFA!
Make America Bot Free Again!
If you don't know don't guess. A couple of those were buckles. And the other one was a suspender buckles. Which were still being manufactured in the 90's
A ton of gold coins.......
it looks like a tiny little button. that's what she said.
What were the coils you found .?
Idk what kind of crap RUclips is pulling but I watch every video u put on here but some how the last two videos I have had to resub to ur channel just to get the notifications
Sorry to heat that. I don't like it either...lol.
Iv had things going weird also, have re-subbed recently to another channel i follow but mostly i see iv not been getting notifications and found the bell icon unchecked on several channels which they were definitely previously tagged. Lots of repeat rubbish in my feed that i would never view. YT seems to want me to view what they want to be popular.
were large cents still considered valid and useable currency during the civil war?
yes, very much so.
The square buckle that Beau said may be a Colonial era was probably fallen when there was the natural tree canopy before the Europeans destroyed it
Hey! Sorry I'm a tad slow. Busy day!
Hey, glad you could make it.
What kind of metal detector do you use?
Right now, a Garrett Vortex
Chigg and your buddy I can’t remember his name hey
Work on those song lyrics partner...
You have to venture further out bo. The oldest thing you have is not even 500 years old America is lacking history by the 1000s of years. Australia has more history than I’m not hating. But I can tell from years of you watching. You are starting to get more bored.
I think he has been to Australia
