    Take a closer look at the Lufi XF gauge, how to navigate the menus, some of the features and ways to improve your experience. From initial setup and the on board user manual to customising gauges, increasing rpm range on the tacho and more.
    As with most gauges of its kind, if the OBD Port can show it, this will display it.
    The only gauge I don't get that I do want is oil pressure and temperature however, it seems most manufacturers have their own PID address for this which makes it difficult to read on a mass produced item. Things such as AFR, Water Temp, Intake Temp look to have a general address and can shown.

      You may need to go into the setting and turn on the "auto off" setting.
      It usually takes 10 seconds or so after turning the car off and it will turn itself off.
      I assume it will draw a tiny bit for the constant memory but minimal compared to it staying on. I have left my car for a week unused and it has started right away.

      What climate are you in? I "think" the thermostat opens around 98°c so your peak of 98-99 seems fairly normal.
      Here in summer (it's been a cool summer) normal driving is between 93-98°c.
      I see up to 106°c if boosting at 1-5psi under load for longer periods of time such as driving up mountains.

      You would get better long term performance out of your car keeping it running as cool as possible. You should consider adding an auxiliary fan (most likely place is in front of a/c condenser.) Cooler temps make oil last longer as well as engine computers wiring insulation radiator hoses fan belts reduces chance of blown head gasket.

    • @fordyford
      @fordyford  Год назад

      The lufi/OBD reads a bit different. You can go into the speedo settings and make a percentage adjustement however this will only be accurate to the speed on the dash at a certain speed.
      E.g. i set mine to read 80km/h on the lufi when the dash reads 80km/h but it isn't bang on at 40, 60, 90, 100 etc if that makes sense.

    How accurate is this gauge? I hear some people saying it doesnt display proper boost. Does this display live data or is it data based off of rpm and throttle positions and the car you're driving? Ive seen some things out there display whatever info of whatever car they pick. Could be driving a base model golf and have it display golf r boost levels if you know what i mean.

    • @fordyford
      @fordyford  11 месяцев назад +1

      It really depends on the car. It is live data yes but on my car the boost doesnt read any higher than 22.5psi. That's a Fiesta ST thing.
      It shows whatever it is picking up through the OB2 port. Some manufacturers have presets in it like VW and BMW, Mazda etc but Ford didn't so I am using it on Universal mode.
      You can edit each screen to display the gauges you want to see so yeah, you could add boost to the gauge for a non turbo car but it wouldn't show anything. You just need to edit the screen to show something different.

      The reason I am told is that manufacturers tend to have a different PID to each other so it makes it near impossible for them to learn and program each individual car and keep it cheap. Things that you can see like AFR and coolant etc tend to all be the same like a "generic" code I guess so they can program it once and it's a universal thing. It is a shame but it looks like an individual gauge for oil press and temp is the only way to go.
