Thanks Steve, I’ve ordered one of your Fuli’s. Hopefully it will help you with your funds and keep us viewers entertained. I love watching your videos and have learned loads although I wouldn’t undertake half the jobs you’ve taken on. All the best and take it easy mate.
Hi Steve. My engine blew today due to gasket failing on my ST 180. I am buying a new engine with the block mod, and after watching this video will buy one of these as pre warning device. Funny you should mention about the bars on the dash as when my car was overheating and ran out of coolant the dash was saying 4 bars, if I had this little device I would have known there was a bigger problem on the way! Great content Steve
Got one of these from you Steve. It's great. Thanks. Do you know if you can get a readout showing the max value recorded for one of the parameters it measures? I was pressing the buttons in a random sort of way and I seemed to get the display show the max recorded for mph, boost pressure, air temp etc but I could not repeat this action. Have you seen this happen and if so do you know how to repeat it to see the max recorded value?
@@Sparkplugsteve Your answer has prompted me to have another look at the instructions. So I can now answer my own question. "Long press" of the right hand button shows PEAK value and then pressing left button clears the peak. So I must have randomly done a long press and saw the peak values, then pressed the left button and deleted them, so could not repeat seeing the peak values as the engine was off. Now that I understand this it could be really useful for monitoring what maximum boost or air temp etc has been during a drive, without having to capture lots of data for analysis. Going to explore this further.
Steve have got my order in 👍🏻was so sorry to hear and watch the vid about your cars engine. Hope you can get things to work out and am sure you will speak soon.
Tested the lufi x1 Vs my dragy and the lufi is consistently 0.5 secs faster time than recorded on the dragy But it is consistent versus itself so any gains compared to older lufi runs will be meaningful just bear in mind to add that 0.5 secs 👍
Yeh sounds fair enough. The lufi works to the speedo and dragy is GPS . You could fine tune the lufi speed to match GPS speed if you wanted but I just leave it as it is.
@@Sparkplugsteve actually tuned the lufi speed reading to match a true GPS from the dragy compensation is 105% on my 205/50/16 road setup and 110% with the trackday setup tyres 205/45/16. It's a great guage though I would recommend it to anyone
Hello Spark Plug Steve , quick question for ya if I can. OK,just got my lufi from your good self, sent to my mum cos I been working but.. Just opened the obd2 door/hatch to find 2 identical white obd2 plugs and a female adapter? Both with 8 wires..This normal or no? Presuming the lufi plugs into one. but what's the other one for? 2 doesn't seem normal, its something the previous owners done? Extra obd for a Mountune Bluetooth dongle but they ran away with the device? A dummy obd?have googled and found mainly the dummy theory. Any thoughts? (Edited).
@@Sparkplugsteve yeah, one does nothing and the other works. No idea what the female adapter is for tho, nothing? Maybe I should plug the dummy in..it was probably to hide the real one but dg weaver didn't bother put things back as they were before service. Time attack best was 6.44. Will try and better that tho.
These gauges use code that allows them to read all the standard parameters across all makes of vehicles. I'm not am expert on it but it's like a universal set of codes all manufacturers use. But the boost code used is a universal low resolution one. There is a high resolution boost output from the ecu that the cobb has been programmed to access that's not part of the universal setup.
How do you find it now after using it for a while. I've just purchased one and my throttle position in my st180 is showing 58.8% at WOT in any gear at any rev range. Is this a fault I have no fault codes 😭 Hope you can shed some light on it please

Ah sorry to hear that. I also wish I had one sooner as the Ford gauge is useless.
@@Sparkplugsteve It is indeed. Question would consider getting a block mod to prevent the cracks in between the cylinders closing completely?
I asked that question myself and got mixed opinions. Some respected tuners said its a waste of time so I decided not to do it.

Hi Steve. Can you read oil temperature on an ST180 with this?
No there is no sensor for it on the engine
I already have this, where is the Exhaust gas temp if there's any? also how to change turbo pressure from kPa to PSI? Also, I can't find vacuum
It's all there in the menus. Just spend more time getting used to it and you will soon figure it out.
Out of curiosity why does COBB AP read exact PSI above 22 psi, But this does not?
These gauges use code that allows them to read all the standard parameters across all makes of vehicles. I'm not am expert on it but it's like a universal set of codes all manufacturers use. @@Sparkplugsteve Thanks for the quick reply and explanations.
😊 Really appreciate it!
Is it good for scanning codes and delete them?
Looks a good guage but my boost needs to be at least 1.8bar so 26psi otherwise I'd of probably had one.
Great videos keep it up 👍
Were you able to find one that can measure up to 26psi?
What sort of water temp is ideal before starting to drive hard
I'm not exactly sure but after 80c is good for me
Hey Steve do you know if the newer XF version has fixed the issue with the boost pressure reading?
I'm not sure yet but I'm soon to test it. Its the same for most obd2 gauges as they don't read boost in high resolution.

Is this measuring intake temp from the maf or from the tmap in the cold side IC pipe?
T map sensor.

Hi, does the Lufi X1 show the EGT temperature in DIESEL?
I can't say what it will show on every car but I would expect that it does.
@@Sparkplugsteve OK, thank you.
Wouldn't it be better to monitor oil temp before racing the car due to the turbo as well as water temp?
The car doesn't have the sensor to display it or would 100% have it on.

Worth it for a "plain vanilla" ecoboost 100?
Obviously not
