    Great to have you back PB - You've been missed :) Instagram is all well and good, but your RUclips videos are much more detailed, and we all love the extra length of them (and landscape!). Hope it's not so long until your next one. As for the 'repeats', well no two jobs are the same so they really are not repeats. Keep them coming! Cheers matie.

    Great piece of detective work and fix on the Gax stove. Agree - If the fix is easy - best to give the owner the option to fix while you are on the premisis - if you've got the time in your schedule to do it. Great fix.

  • @dennisphoenix1
    @dennisphoenix1 5 лет назад

    Just to add to your 3 port valve tutorial, when the valve is stuck (especially after summer) or the motor has failed you only get hot water , no heating . The dead state of the valve is the heating port closed off , you can manually push it round with the lever quickly and it will make the micro switch for a second and switch on the pump and boiler , this can give you a quick idea of what's wrong

  • @markvickers4189

    The pipe vice looks a good bit of kit . I have bought lots of tools after watching your video . fact after this one managed to get a Nerrad Tapex second hand but looks brand-new . I will keep watching about the pipe vice and if they end up being the rite price would like one maybe two . A present for my brother cause things I have bought after watching you show them he as stolen but called it borrowed or try it before he byes ( months and months later still trying)

  • @dennisphoenix1
    @dennisphoenix1 5 лет назад

    Regarding the 3 port description, a lot of old timers don't have a hot water off , only have hot water or hot water and heating calling connections. When you do have a hot water off the valve is powered to close off the hot water port

    Your videos are great keep up the good work! I do prefer your RUclips videos I like the longer content, you may think certain things are mundane or you've already shown but I could watch them all day long!
    Don't put pressure on yourself though to keep pushing content out just for the sake of it just do it as and when you feel. Thanks for taking the time to make them. I think its people like you who really set and show the standard of how plumbing work should be carried it and I'm sure it inspires people to do the same I know it does for me so thanks.

    Great vid as always, with the exp vessel on the Worcester, I usually remove the Schroeder core attach a hose and pressurise the system, this will push out any water as they can hold up to a litre in condensation, and also easily shows if the vessel has failed. Keep up the good work

    Re- leaking shower screen, I find very often, when someone stands in the bath, the front end can drop fractionally leaving a gap under the silicone (if it's old) but so easy to miss if no weight in the bath. There are loads of cheap baths out there with showers over and they have no rigidity. If I fit a bath, I always brace it underneath as well.

    Had to stop the video to comment on the gas hob with low pressure, why do people put sealant on a seal ?? If there's a new olive, why the PTFE and/or bosswhite. I had a similar job, a friend of a friend was complaining - they hadn't turned their boiler off for YEARS, it switched on and ran and ran !!!!! I stripped it down and found a ball of bosswhite before the injector. When gas flowed it picked up the ball and almost blocked the injector, when you isolated the gas to inspect the line the ball of bosswhite sat in the pipe. I removed it, ran the boiler up and gas rated it successfully. I went home, 45 minutes later the people were on the phone, they'd just had to turn off the boiler because they were too hot, the first time in years !!!

  • @netpok
    @netpok 5 лет назад

    When you opened the second burner on the hob around 27 minutes the flame got smaller before pushing the knob down. Isn't that quite bad? I mean in Hungary where I live it's mandatory for hobs to have thermal elements so gas will flow only when the knob is pushed in or the burner is hot enough (so it will shut off the gas supply if the flame goes out for whatever reason).

    Hey Pete i thought you had got fed up with the moaning from the 'know it alls' that we have all had the pleasure of working with on occasion, good to see you back. I would be interested in a pipe vice, i often swet up tails for a boiler install on the floor so this looks like the perfect alternative. I too am no spring chicken and avoid Face book, twitter and Instagram so this is the only forum i catch you on so keep em coming. That said some lads do tell me that they get a lot of work through Facebook etc, do you.

    This nerrad tool unfortunately doesn't not fit to any of sink. Very small ones do not allow you to turn the nut and the socket is massive. And the 8 to 13 mm hex sockets sometimes were not long enough to reach the bolt. I was used to have it with me for long and only used 3/4 times. Better tool station one or normal spanners.
