8:15 That riff is fire
I like how you're just the default for tool tutorials now :D Thanks for everything, man.
Everyone goes crazy for Danny's otherworldly drumming on this track but the guitar riffs are pretty cool on Ticks too. Awesome lesson as always Greg. Also, god damn you totally nailed the tone for the clean part!
Was looking for this song's tutorial yesterday and yours popped up today
You have an ear for Jones’ nuances. Helps me get from 8 to 9. Thank you
Dude that tone is ridiculous! Love the lesson cheers
Thanks for this lesson for 'Ticks and Leeches' Greg! And also, for one of your last few lessons for 'Bottom'. You're on fire lately Greg. Keep it up! 🤟
Thank you for all the lessons mate. Stoked that you’re producing so much!
Love your vids man, thanks for taking the time to make them 👍
One of my favourites. Excellent.
Thanks again for another awesome tutorial!
Great job buddy , thanks for the lesson
Awesome! Your lessons have helped so much, I want to cover this song now!
Thank you ! For all the Tool jams sessions I've had thanks to you...thank you!
dude you're a legend. thanks a lot for all your hard work
I'm in love with that guitar. Tone is awesome
you touched my SOUL with this lesson, GREAT job as always. I love you..
I was working on a long project last night and Ticks and Leeches came on. I thought huh, wonder when Greg will do a tutoril on this sick song. And.... You rock Greg! Thanks!
Very good tone,revv dist 🔥👌
Awesome
Spectacular
Dinger!!!!!!!! Nice work, Greg!!!
great master 🎸🤘
I could watch your vids soley for the tone.
I'm going to work on this tomorrow. Love it. Need some new stuff to weave into my own improv and see if I can get something to continue my song I'm busy on.
Ha shit. Already learned the quiet breakdown part. Now I'll be too excited to sleep 😂
My top 4 fav Tool songs
Anyone else think this is one of the trickiest adam Jones riffs?
I WANT TO PLAY THAT AMBIENT SECTION on bass BUT ADAM JONES WORKS TOO!
Everytime I listen to this song in the gym I automatically activate God Mode
The Company Band "alls well in milton keynes" lesson would be great. I can't even find a tab for it
At first I'm like, holy crap, I can't play that! By the end of the evening I'm getting the opening riffs down. Mostly. PROGRESS(IVE ROCK)
Fantastic tone it's almost the same on the album
What neuralDSP plug in did you use for this and can you share the tone dials?
Pretty sure it's Adam under that mask..
Will you getting one of Adam's Les Paul's when they're available, Greg?
I'm going to take a wild guess and say they are probably going to cost upwards of $6000.00 possibly even more. That's if it's made by Gibson. Epiphone will be 1/4 of that price and I believe they already made/make a 1979 'Silverburst'. Hell, even a Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus cost about $3500.00.
@@bradleybriscoe2608 maybe speaking out my ass but I dont think there was any talk of Epiphone making one. Id be pretty surprised
@@therealradagast Epiphone already makes a Epiphone Les Paul Custom 'Silverburst' just like Adam's, but without the Seymour Duncan JB pickup in the bridge position.
@Chese 311 I have played a Epiphone Les Paul Custom 'Silverburst' and it sounded fantastic too me. It just needs a hotter pickup in the bridge position. I think Jones uses a Sermour Duncan JB in his bridge pickup.
Bradley Briscoe $6K lmao hell no im hoping for the price to be $3k to $4k. If it’s supposed to be a replica of his ‘79 I can’t see them being bogus enough to double the price and I plan on buying as soon as it’s released. 😬
Are playing your jj jr. and if so the be or jbe channel
When Jones goes from Distortion to clean in their songs, is the only change turning of the gain completely? I know it's probably a dumb question but I'm trying to figure out if he goes to a completely different sound preset or just lowers the volume to change the dynamics of the sound.
Few years ago I saw some video with Tool guitar technician explaining the stage setup. Jones uses same channel on amp (he runs signal through two amps simultaneously), all changes from clean/crunch to overdrive/distortion is volume pedal and tone pot.
@@ignacy_lukasiewicz 👌👍
You're too damn good dude! What pedal would you recommend for a beginner (who's almost broke) to try and emulate that tone?
Deizel VH4 preamp pedal. Use the volume knob to roll off the gain when needed.
@Chese 311 actually picked up an epiphone les paul SL starter pack that cost me 170, and it's coming with a mini MITYpro amp
@Chese 311 I used to have one myself but ended up selling it. I agree with the cabinet and pickup type being major factors in his tone. I use a Marshall JVM, Mesa Triple Crown, and a JMP clone through a 1960A cab and can get very close to his tone with those three heads. A key factor is definitely an EL34 amp head and a medium output A5 pickup. With my setup I tend to prefer the Mesa TC50 with EL34s over the JVM. But both heads are amazing at getting that tone. I know with my experience you can get almost any decent gear setup to mimic his tone as long as you got the right pick attack, nuances, and techniques with some amp settings and playing style.
The tabs are not in the description
🎧🤘”BELOVED HYPOCRISY” by “WE SUCK AS HUMANS” 🤘🎧 Rock it out!
So glad you addressed the subtle palm mute lift on that riff at ruclips.net/video/N_tARrytDXA/видео.html Such a cool part. Entire lesson is awesome. Thanks again!
