Happy 20th birthday to my favorite album of all time. Not everyone can say they were on acid the first time they heard it but a friend of mine and I got ahold of it the night before its official release and each of us took three hits and had the greatest night of our lives.
Seen these guys live four times and they were amazing every time. I was hypnotized when watching the drummer, Danny the whole concert. He makes it look so effortless when playing the drums.

I’ve seen them 6 times! Three times recently, would’ve have gotten one more in April but got canceled. Got lucky enough to see them and in Rockville when they debuted Invisible and Descending... I feel beyond lucky I was there to witness that, also was tripping balls lol. They opened with Ænima too lol. Best live show you’ll ever experience, changed my girlfriends life. We got tickets the day after her first for the next closet show lol. She totally gets it now, she used to like APC more but slowly she changed her mind. Hands down best ducking band, and Danny is the best Drummer in the world lol!!!
I know all the song is amazing. Danny's drum being all over the place and blowing minds, Maynard screaming and showing a venomous voice, Justin's bass is solid as fuck and Adam's shrilling guitar.... But... 3:25 This part makes me feel so melancholic and desolated. I think desolation is the emotion they tried to achieve in this break and they did it remarkably great. I love this band so much
I see lots of people in these comments talking about how cool the drum intro is : I hope you people do know that it sounds even more amazing if you play this song right after Schism, because that intro is the "sequel" of Schism's outro, it feels like it's only one continuous song. I was 20 when this album came out. Their best imho, this song and several others on the album still stir my blood to this day and give me goosebumps. From 3:26 to 5:56 this song reaches the outer dimensions. Pure satisfaction. Also the 'Suck me dry' line at 6:45 sounds really cool. Maynard is one of the best vocalists out there

@@aliyahximena1466 I imagine it was quite a task. That bass line is probably one of the most unique bass lines ever written. (Not that I have listened to every single bass line ever.) But I find Tools greatest songs are the ones that never made it to video or radio.
I don't know, it's probably just because radio stations and mild fans tend to overplay those kinds of songs.
Don't get me wrong, I love Schism. But there is so much more. H and Jimmy are particular favorites of mine off of Aenima. Parabol, Parabola, Disposition and Reflection off of Lateralus. Wings for Marie and 10,000 days off 10,000 days.

I’ve seen them 6 times! Three times recently, would’ve have gotten one more in April but got canceled. Got lucky enough to see them and in Rockville when they debuted Invisible and Descending... I feel beyond lucky I was there to witness that, also was tripping balls lol. They opened with Ænima too lol. Best live show you’ll ever experience, changed my girlfriends life. We got tickets the day after her first for the next closet show lol. She totally gets it now, she used to like APC more but slowly she changed her mind. Hands down best ducking band, and Danny is the best Drummer in the world lol!!!

I was 20 when this album came out. Their best imho, this song and several others on the album still stir my blood to this day and give me goosebumps. I've seen them twice once in '01 when they were touring this album. Starting @3:26 in this song is some of the most beautiful/awesome piece of music I've ever heard.

I remember being like 16-17ish and wrapping my head around like 80% of what Danny was doing in a country town in Australia (80 %probably generous with the distortion of time), looking back the fact I couldn’t get it and just surrendered to the flow was fucking exciting. At the time i was probably wallowing in the i could never do that shit.. but now and then you’d escape and realise the size of it all. Empowering.. Im 35 now, wife kids steady and reckless.
