I’m a drummer and saw this so I thought I’d answer. I personally learn by ear. I listen to the song (mainly drums) and keep piecing together parts of the song and if I am struggling with a specific part of the song I play that part on repeat to see what the drummer is doing.

This dude probably reads music. You gotta understand a lot about theory and rudiments and polyrhythms to play music like this as effortlessly as this dude dose
