The giant blue fish showed up recently so I took advantage of that and decided to catch him on some topwater plugs. These fish fought insanely hard and measured up to 39".

Finally people fishing for food as opposed to catch and release. Catch and release is not humane. It's stressing out fish and making them more susceptible to illness and death for pleasure all the while thinking they're saving the life of the fish they release. Great video. Love catching and eating blues. Need a day like these guys had!

Im from boston nd i can tell u tht there very scarce in shore around here. You'll get them out in the harbor, but for the last few years. They haven't been around fishing from the shore line. It's pretty much all stripers.. But this was a great vid, loved watching it!! Keep catching them monsters buddy!!

Awesome. We call them Tailor here in Australia. Mostly small ones around a foot to a foot and a half long, I'd like to catch a 3 footer 10+ pounder.
What rating is that rod and what do you do with them all? They are good eaten within 24 hours, they smoke good too.

The rod is a Blackfin rod I found while diving and the reel is a Penn Slammer III 6500 HS.
Why not use a yozure with one treble hook an stealleaders .how much do you make off them per pound?
The price is always changing. I don't like treble hooks, I like to stick with a single J hook.

Steve G I live in Myrtle Beach so I’ve got the best of both worlds fresh and saltwater. Got the icw and several other rivers to fresh water fish, and the ocean less than 5mins from my house. I’ve caught hundreds of chopper blues that are big for the south but not up north. My biggest was 13lb from Apache Pier. So yeah I’ve caught some. My main use for blues is bait for King’s.

Be careful spearing them - had to have one cut off of my arm with a fillet knife - they will attack their tormentor and hang on like a bull dog - 15 minute segment on "It happened to me" about ?? 20 years ago. Not great food.
I'll try to steer clear of chompers.

Nice fish, good size to eat I guess. 30 years ago, we would troll for bluefish off Cape May, they were huge, 3 1/2 ft long ..... you guys called those fish huge, Have they fished out all the big bluefish already?
They have not been fished out, we just don't get the big ones down in Florida. We get tons of little ones in the two to five pound range but a 10-15pounder is very rarely seen down here.
Truth.we don't get many big blues..this is phenomenal

my dad caught a blue on navarre peir, it kindof sweallowed the hook and beforee i could stop him he stuck his finger in its mouth to unhook it, lol it bit the hell outta him, i laughed so hard, he was not impressed

They aren’t porpoises, they are Atlantic bottle nose dolphins. We don’t and have never had porpoises in NJ, we do have one of the highest concentrations of Dolphins though. At least in Cape May & Wildwood, Not trying to be a dick sorry!
