What rod and reel combo do you recommend for catching 100-150 lb tarpon? I’m going to the keys and I’m not too experienced on the best set ups to have. Also does your tsunami carbon shield two rod come apart? Cause I looked it up and it showed that it comes apart
If you're fishing from a boat I would suggest the 8-foot tsunami carbon Shield rod. Pair that with the SaltX6000. My rod is only a one piece but they may make one that is a two piece.

Like 50-100lb tarpon
@@funkify2005 if you're fishing from the shore and casting distance is important I would go with a bigger surf rod. Something like the saltX 10 and a half foot or so.

@@Tyler-kw9ce Hi Pal I have caught a few Trout , small Snook , and Jacks a couple weeks ago on Mepp's spinners Indian river , a couple Pompano on surf, plan on going as soon as winds die down . Even on a cold day my waders keep me warm , but Damn if I can catch fish like Joey and others , I need a real battle soon I'm going nuts !
@@bobscruggs8886 use shrimp everything eats shrimp, sandflies and crabs work great. Always use live shrimp or pieces of live shrimp. Frozen never ever. Can you catch some fish on frozen but way more on fresh. Don't go too heavy on the line off the surf or jetties etc I roll with 12lb main line and a 12lb florocarbon leader. You will catch more fish with light line. Now go and catch a bunch of fish. 😎🦐🦀🐟

@@SWFL_FISHING_239 Ahh... you're so lucky to be able to do that, I'm jealous.. It's 20deg here and 1,500 mi away.. I have three boats and plenty of time, tired of sitting on my thumb here with very hard water....
I'm lucky enough to have family that literally live like 5 min from the bridge in the water they live off of the river which isn't far on boat. But I live all the way on the west coast
@@SWFL_FISHING_239 Same here, but my brother doesn't like deplorable's any more, so we parted and so did my Vero visits. He's in that big condo place with the gulf coarse just a few miles south of the bridge next to the ICW.. Oh well.. At least you can get out on a point loma party boat cheap and other opportunities, I'm stuck in the middle... Walleye trout and cat..
