Hey! I actually know the developer of the Jingol, or knew, as I kind of fell out of their friendgroup a few years ago. They went by IV but judging by what I can find now I believe they can also be found by Ivy Nivek. They're also responsible for a game called Kanalmanac (you can find the game and ost online) and I believe have a project currently in development by the looks of their other accounts. It was really a surprise seeing the Jingol pop up on this list while I was doing other things in the background hah. IV, Conf, Lul, Wingus, Optimisto, etc, waving hello if you guys see this. It's been a while! EDIT: OH Kanalmanac used to be ONON (an off fangame) oh my god I could've looked literally just a tiny bit harder to realize that crying. I remember being in their Discord servers when they were developing NEW (another OFF fangame). This is bringing back a lot of memories actually!!! Ok so somebody named lonnie did a hacked walkthrough of it and well it's strange. @@mystey1 That's very much spot-on, from my recollection it was intended more as like a starter project for figuring out rpg development and the oddball aesthetic and ripped/edited assets from outside sources were to facilitate creating a functional early game rather than to create a full coherent title and add intrigue as a bonus on top of that.

7:54 hey! I'm the user that submmited this entry, I'm glad that you covered this topic, there's almost no info about Heaven in the western side of the Internet and I think it's a very interesting and obscure game.
OFFERING APP looks like it's either part of an elaborate ARG or just someone who can program and needs mental help, I'm leaning more towards the latter...
I think it's probably an ARG; to me it feels too intentionally creepy to be made by someone who actually needs mental help. A lot of effort went into making the art unnerving and I feel it's unlikely that the person who made it actually thinks someone is forcing them to. I've seen a lot of ARGs and this just screams elaborate ARG/unfiction to me.
There's a RUclips channel named KESHA WHITE that is the developer and they have many videos from the game, as well as a few other seemingly unrelated videos. The videos all seem to share themes of mental illness, so it's entirely possible. The developer updates on the steam page are also extremely strange and cryptic. The developer talks about how he was apparently told to create this game by red creatures that came to him in episodes of sleep paralysis. I don't know what to make of this one.
It's the former. The latter seems self contradictory. Someone this unbelievably unstable still has the sanity and focus to code an entire game for a decade? Sure. Edit: I think there's a notable difference between a calm delusion and someone whos wild and unstable. Someone can act calm and rational while holding grand delusions, and can end up making something like TempleOS. That is not what I'm talking about. If someone is unwell in a way that makes them frantic and violent it's implausible that they would have the presence of mind to take up coding and produce an entire game. Especially with how intricate and difficult and annoying coding and art is. Note 'implausible', if anyone finds evidence this isn't one amongst a sea of other ARG-esque things, then I'll believe otherwise. But for now, it seems exceedingly unlikely.
Just realized The Jingol uses Killer 7 assets. Some of the main characters look like Garcian, Kaede, and Dan Smith and one of the enemies in the game looks exactly like a Backside Smile (an enemy in Killer 7). Even the title screen uses the Killer 7 title font
@@dantepizza6310 Mixed with the character sprites that look very similar to the ones in Hylics, I think the creator just wears their influences on their sleeves. Even if using wholesale enemy designs from Killer7 and a picture of 9/11 might be a bit on the excessive side.

To me all these creepy games are either: A. An "art project" or B. Someone making something intentionally criptic just so people talk about it to have 15 minutes of fame.
I think that both can be interesting interesting in a way A art project is a creator trying to communicate their emotions to the audience. “Intentionally cryptic stuff” is a reaction on current trends, and so, even if the creator doesn’t intend to, still tells you something about how they feel about the world But whatever it is, stuff like this is at least a nice distraction for a little while

@@andreatoth8029 imagine working at a place like that, working for a month to basically make what these people made in about 2 minutes of an add, that is insane and insulting to the people that help keep that company running because that should just show those employees how valuable they are to them. shocked to see psychopomp in here tbh. as a person who played the game and has caught up on some of the lore, ill explain a bit of it: the character you play as is believed to be named C'venash Vishneri (ill just be calling her Vena.), and is believed to be a deity known as the Queen of Venus. the man that appears at the end of the game is also speculated to be the King of Venus, named Crushnir Colven. these two are brought together by a character named the King of Dogs. its speculated that his reasoning for this is because Vena, Crushnir, KOD and their child were once a family, before Vena and Crushnir were reborn. due to the ending of Psychopomp, its heavily implied that theres going to be a sequel where we explore Crushnir's pov. unlike some of the games on this list, Psychopomp is a legitimate Game and i highly reccomend playing it
Hey not sure if you saw but Psychopomp Gold released, and added a ton more of story content that confirms and debunks some of this stuff, if you haven't played it, I recommend it! It's absolutely amazing and a massive upgrade from the regular Psychopomp But just to fix some stuff about that, spoilers ahead of course: Vena and Crushnir seem to be also called "Venus" and "Mercury", each of them also associating with a bug and a tool, which in turn can also mean what they want to bring to the world. Vena is dragonflies and hammers, and Crushnir is bettlebugs and nails, which Crushnir wants to use to "build" things. In the events of the game, we play more levels that outright confirm Vena's destruction upon the world, destroying the concept of DNA and "killing buildings", whatever that can mean. We can also play an epilogue level as Crushnir that completely confirms PsychoPomp 2, in which Crushnir will be the protagonist and Vena may be the antagonist. But apparently they aren't an actual family, but rather friends that met each other when they were young. This is because in the epilogue we see the actual family, brought together by KOD. Lastly, there are some voice messages give us some more clues, and in one of them a man is speaking about being annoyed by dragonflies and bettlebugs, and remarks he's also annoyed by "These damn worlds they create" reffering to those bugs. We'll have to wait until Psychopomp 2 to know what Vena wants to do and what role Crushnir will play
or it could be the opposite? the dev realises someone had took reference from their game and took it down later (or is it still available online?) just a theory though I could be totally wrong

Considering the church of satan is for the most part atheistic and has nothing to do with Left-hand path Occultism it makes it pretty clear the dev was just trying to be edgy
Some of the main characters in "The Jingol" seems to be just black and white pictures of the smith family in Killer7. I can definitely recognize Garcian and Dan, Kaede might be the girl, and I have no idea for the other one.
15:05 is that Garcian from Killer7? Edit: yeah the party members are definitely just Killer7 characters. The walking sprites also looked ripped from Hylics
Some ARGs try so hard to be weird, cryptic or disturbing that they just loop back around to cringe, "I'm 14 and this is deep" territory. Just smells a bit desperate for attention, which is unfortunate because the art direction is all there but lacks any sort of genuine presentation of the wrap-around
I don't think a single one of these really counts as an "ARG" ngl, the word has sorta been turned into a blanket word for anything that contains a singular easter egg, secret, is fictional or just even the tiniest bit creepy, which sucks since ARGs are genuinely some really cool stuff

hi, been subscribed to the channel for a couple years, and genuine question: is he getting bored of making these or something? the research here even for things i know literally nothing about going in is so overtly bad. the meaning of 108 can be gotten by googling "significance of 108". the pronunciation of "shiranai" can be gotten via google translate, disregarding the fact that it's a pretty commonly-used japanese word. aside from the "bit" of mispronouncing foreign languages, to me it just comes off as poor research when people can't be arsed to look up how to pronounce a word or two. takes less than a minute. and it really takes absolute minimal research to know that garn47 is a shitpost game (i googled "what is garn47"). i hadn't even heard of it 'til i watched this video because i don't touch fnf with a 10 foot pole but literally, less than 2 minutes of research to understand the cat is called car and the voice is you calling to it (i googled "garn47 cat"), and the room with the pictures is a fanart room. he even calls the cat Car later in the vid, so why he misunderstood the voice line is weird to me and just indicates he really isn't putting much thought into this. the "evil shadow the hedgehog" (??? it's obviously not shadow?) is a modern creepypasta character called 2017 X or "X". (i googled "garn47 sonic"). from 10 seconds briefly skimming his wiki page, i now know he isn't even in the game anymore as of last month. so oddheader is also just including outdated info and footage without any clarification. granted, he could have created this video before that happened, but with everything else it just adds to the negative impression. i'm baffled how he even got some of this footage, e.g. the "soretro" song from fnf, without learning that the "some sort of glitchy mario" is called Soretro? the lack of information given and actively bad/false info almost comes off as intentional. not saying he had to list every single character's name out, just saying that he's obviously leaving out basic info about the contents of the game, like the fact that these characters are memes, or any information about their origins when there is plenty out there -- and it pretty crucially isn't remotely "unsolved" (or creepy, but whatever). EDIT: also just from googling garn47 i found its itch.io page, aka its official release, so literally the first thing he says about the game is misinfo! multiple fans of this media are in the comments correcting this video and commenting on how poor the info given is. when unearthing/exposing this info is the objective of your entire channel, i can see why some are complaining. with all that about something i CAN research very easily, it makes me wonder what flaws there are in information i can't research so well. such as non-english games, or ones i don't feel compelled to research myself. i understand part of these videos' purpose is to entice the audience to research further themselves, but when oddheader misconstrues basic information about the content he's trying to platform it just comes off as really lazy and uncaring tbh. and i barely count what i just did as research whatsoever. i like that you can get extra context for the games oddheader talks about in the comments, but when a majority of it is just clarifying basic information about the game... something's up with that man, idk. and i'm definitely not expecting any followup to clarify info he missed, as great as that'd be in general. i'm still subbed atm, but i'm genuinely considering unsubbing if the quality of his research keeps decreasing like this... if anyone read this, thanks xD just needed to put my thoughts out in text. btw, i focussed on garn47 here because it's the most egregious example of poor info i've seen from the channel in recent memory. just my opinion and perspective on all this! thanks again
what is the worst thing to me, as someone following the Garn47 development and community, is that the story of the game IS still ‘unsolved’ fully. because the game isnt finished. 2017x was removed in the v2 update, replaced by a silly guy called Twenty17 as Honkish requested that Subterfuge be removed due to not wanting to be tied to the game anymore (which is fair tbh!). The v2 update ALSO added a SHIT TON of new things that, with a lil talking to ANYONE in the Garncord server, Oddheader could’ve ACTUALLY included. Carr, LD, the entire mystery that is Brimbo World…. theres SO MANY things that we dont know about fully yet in the game. And there IS an actual story, its not just a shitpost, Floombo has been working on this for a few years now!
shows Psychopomp which there's nothing to "solve" given how it's just a cool indie game, and garn47 which is just a shitpost awesome research once again bravo
yeah at this point it feels like his videos aren't for fun or to showcase a cool mystery anymore, just random "creepy" things in an attempt to make a clickbait thumbnail.
1:35 The cat is named Car. Garn47, the character you play as, is yelling their name. It's a segment where you have to navigate Car through an obstacle course.
that ad read was amazing, I was bout to skip ahead to the video but wanted to see what the cartridge looked like after being microwaved... you got me! well done sir, you got a sub
The funny thing about Psychopomp is that the literal day after this video came out, a trailer for the sequel was released. Whatever mysteries there are left, it’s clear that it’s nowhere near over.
none of these are even ARGs, literally just bait for youtubers like him and to get the game traction and attract 14 yr olds to buy it to try and solve the spooky mystery
@@MotherSoren yeah it's unfortunate but it seems that at this point, more than half of the games he covers are horror slop baits trying too hard to be edgy
I love your videos mate, but sometimes I feel some lack of closure you know? You show us a lot of disturbing and interesting mysteries but never give us any sort of follow up. It would be nice to get a video whenever any of these cases get a solution, even if it's like an annual thing
He has previously done follow ups whenever there was a development on any of the mysteries, but the thing is, a lot of the time there isn't any. The whole premise of the channel is to cover mysteries in games, and a lot of them are mysteries for a reason, because they can't easily be cracked
@@sharkmiiiscoolI could be wrong, I'm just going from memory, but I think he does them at the end of the year? Like "mysteries that were solved in 202X" or something like that?
Feel like these videos are just promotions for indie games now. Like if people want promotion for their small game, they add in a cryptic easter egg no one will get or be scary and send it over to Oddheader to talk about with a large platform. Like a majority of these games, are games I've never heard of. And maybe in a rare chance, it might be a big game everyone knows.
Sometimes some of these look interesting as an art game and not a mystery, but other than that yeah, it's not very interesting The ones that do keep being cool are the ones that are actually from before the horrorgayme brainrot era, 2015 and back, or that look like too much effort/too weird to be a normal person doing it
you know it's not much of an odd discovery when the game itself it's a jumpscare shitshow from the beginning, it's almost the default content you find there
16:30 that enemy is literally just a backside smile from the game Killer7. I thought some of the enemies closely resembled ones from Killer7, but there's no mistaking that design with the arm scythes I'm torn on whether to be irritated he just ripped art from a Suda51 game or pleased to see that game referenced anywhere in media- it's an underrated gem of a title
A lot of the other assets are from Hylics. I was wondering if it was maybe just a fan-made game, but since it’s ripping off other stuff, I’m guessing it’s just plagiarism.
having looked through The Jingol's files and examined the RPG Maker project I can confirm it mostly just seems like some edgy dude's ramblings also, it's not related to Hylics, it's either just copying the artstyle or taking assets from it. i can't really tell which but considering it *is* taking assets from Killer7 then I wouldn't get my hopes up
This video has so little research into these games that its blatantly obvious he didn't even play them, I'm guessing the video was made because they had a contract with a sponsor and still owed an ad placement in a video so this video was made hastily to finish the contract. It happens all the time, if you ever see a youtuber making a video that is seriously lacking or boring from their usual stuff _and_ it has a sponsor segment, its a contractual obligation. Also, sometimes when they get a detail wrong in a video its almost always to drive engagement since people will go to the comment section to correct them and that's seen as good by the algorithm.
@@aetoreous what did the devs do? also tbh the garn47 fandom from what I've seen is super sweet and cute, and very queer and neurodivergent indeed as you said, idk if the newgrounds crowd rlly fucks with garn47 all that much either, seems like more of an fnf thing
Garn47 showing up on this channel seems something on brand, but also kinda jarring. I would talk about the amount of things you got wrong but at the same time I think seeing people's blind reaction to the game is normal, yet really funny to me

I may be wrong about the Jingol's lead developer though, it might've been another friend in that friendgroup but regardless I'm know for certain that that friendgroup was involved in its creation.
ALSO please don't harass them or anyone involved. I just wanted to share that I have some knowledge of the origin of that game! I don't want to have the game bring back any memories if they wanted to leave it behind or whatever, and I don't want this to bring any annoyance to anyone agrhf.
@@skin_lizard so what the game is all about and why it's so strange and cryptic?

Ok so somebody named lonnie did a hacked walkthrough of it and well it's strange. OFFERING APP looks like it's either part of an elaborate ARG or just someone who can program and needs mental help, I'm leaning more towards the latter...
I genuinely think it’s the 2nd option cuz it’s genuinely unnerving 😭😭
@@coreynj yeah I looked it up and watched all the videos lol
I bet you that when someone finally buys the expensive demo, the full game will come out

@harrydavey9884 It's pretty much just a big shitpost. That "evil" Sonic and Mario he mentioned are popular FNF memes for example

A art project is a creator trying to communicate their emotions to the audience.
“Intentionally cryptic stuff” is a reaction on current trends, and so, even if the creator doesn’t intend to, still tells you something about how they feel about the world

shocked to see psychopomp in here tbh. as a person who played the game and has caught up on some of the lore, ill explain a bit of it:
the character you play as is believed to be named C'venash Vishneri (ill just be calling her Vena.), and is believed to be a deity known as the Queen of Venus. the man that appears at the end of the game is also speculated to be the King of Venus, named Crushnir Colven. these two are brought together by a character named the King of Dogs. its speculated that his reasoning for this is because Vena, Crushnir, KOD and their child were once a family, before Vena and Crushnir were reborn. due to the ending of Psychopomp, its heavily implied that theres going to be a sequel where we explore Crushnir's pov. unlike some of the games on this list, Psychopomp is a legitimate Game and i highly reccomend playing it
Hey not sure if you saw but Psychopomp Gold released, and added a ton more of story content that confirms and debunks some of this stuff, if you haven't played it, I recommend it! It's absolutely amazing and a massive upgrade from the regular Psychopomp
But just to fix some stuff about that, spoilers ahead of course:
Vena and Crushnir seem to be also called "Venus" and "Mercury", each of them also associating with a bug and a tool, which in turn can also mean what they want to bring to the world. We'll have to wait until Psychopomp 2 to know what Vena wants to do and what role Crushnir will play

hi, been subscribed to the channel for a couple years, and genuine question: is he getting bored of making these or something? the research here even for things i know literally nothing about going in is so overtly bad.
the meaning of 108 can be gotten by googling "significance of 108". the pronunciation of "shiranai" can be gotten via google translate, disregarding the fact that it's a pretty commonly-used japanese word. aside from the "bit" of mispronouncing foreign languages, to me it just comes off as poor research when people can't be arsed to look up how to pronounce a word or two. takes less than a minute.
and it really takes absolute minimal research to know that garn47 is a shitpost game (i googled "what is garn47"). i hadn't even heard of it 'til i watched this video because i don't touch fnf with a 10 foot pole but literally, less than 2 minutes of research to understand the cat is called car and the voice is you calling to it (i googled "garn47 cat"), and the room with the pictures is a fanart room. he even calls the cat Car later in the vid, so why he misunderstood the voice line is weird to me and just indicates he really isn't putting much thought into this.
the "evil shadow the hedgehog" (??? it's obviously not shadow?) is a modern creepypasta character called 2017 X or "X".

I've noticed the decline too sadly. I think trying to upload more frequently has really killed the research aspect of the videos
Meh... I'm still entertained
what is the worst thing to me, as someone following the Garn47 development and community, is that the story of the game IS still ‘unsolved’ fully. because the game isnt finished.

Dont even know what it is. You guys need to experience life more 😂
I didnt know what garn47 is
14:00 this is just a cut and paste of the indie game series “Hylics”, as seen in the characters, movement, and other stolen parts
Alternative tile: 7 unfinished games by people who need therapy.
7 broken games by edgy devs
@@MrSomebodyyyy98*6 edgy games and a shitpost
6 unfinished games by people who made therapy (and Garn 47)
offering app looks insane, the amount of effort put into it
0:09 The way you segued into that ad was genius. Thank you, sir, for letting us breathe your air.
Oh that's just Car. Don't mind him.
Note: In garn47, The cat doesn't yell "car" at you, you're calling it's name. You're supposed to call on them to help them through a path.
It’s funny watching someone who’s never played Garn47 talk about Garn47.
I am the true conanite. It is so great to see conan in this video at both 1:29 and at 2:06!!!
16:10
Farting. Sharting. We are all dying
😍

Oddheader: Maybe we should check in on the developer first.
Random guy in an ad: I'm the Developer.
Best Timing Ever
The Offering is incredibly horrifying art...
thank u 🖤
@@Kesha_Whitemy dream is to have an art style as beautiful as yours, keep up the awesome work.

This channel is one of the last to really keep that authentic feeling of being 9 and scary video game top 10s were your biggest worry.
7:28 I mean I could have told you what that image was going to be just from the little we could see of it haha
you know it's not much of an odd discovery when the game itself it's a jumpscare shitshow from the beginning, it's almost the default content you find there
16:30 that enemy is literally just a backside smile from the game Killer7. I thought some of the enemies closely resembled ones from Killer7, but there's no mistaking that design with the arm scythes
I'm torn on whether to be irritated he just ripped art from a Suda51 game or pleased to see that game referenced anywhere in media- it's an underrated gem of a title
A lot of the other assets are from Hylics. I was wondering if it was maybe just a fan-made game, but since it’s ripping off other stuff, I’m guessing it’s just plagiarism.
having looked through The Jingol's files and examined the RPG Maker project I can confirm it mostly just seems like some edgy dude's ramblings
also, it's not related to Hylics, it's either just copying the artstyle or taking assets from it. i can't really tell which but considering it *is* taking assets from Killer7 then I wouldn't get my hopes up
This video has so little research into these games that its blatantly obvious he didn't even play them, I'm guessing the video was made because they had a contract with a sponsor and still owed an ad placement in a video so this video was made hastily to finish the contract. It happens all the time, if you ever see a youtuber making a video that is seriously lacking or boring from their usual stuff _and_ it has a sponsor segment, its a contractual obligation.
Also, sometimes when they get a detail wrong in a video its almost always to drive engagement since people will go to the comment section to correct them and that's seen as good by the algorithm.
i love these videos because they give off a style of nostalgia of a earlier gaming youtube era
10:33 "Psychopomp" may be a reference to Hypnopompia, the opposite of Hypnagogia; the liminal state of transitioning between sleeping and waking state
A psychopomp is a figure that guides souls to the afterlife, like the Grim Reaper or Charon
When I hear "sometimes you find something in a videogame..." I know my month is complete.
That Garn47 section had so many mistakes it made my skin crawl
No legit same. It really feels like he didn’t even play it and just saw a few shorts of it, then tried to dramatize them
@@aetoreous what did the devs do?
also tbh the garn47 fandom from what I've seen is super sweet and cute, and very queer and neurodivergent indeed as you said, idk if the newgrounds crowd rlly fucks with garn47 all that much either, seems like more of an fnf thing
Congratulations on hitting 100vids. I remember coming across this channel when it had only 17 videos or so
3:16 don't worry, that's just Mr. Boss!
Garn47 showing up on this channel seems something on brand, but also kinda jarring. I would talk about the amount of things you got wrong but at the same time I think seeing people's blind reaction to the game is normal, yet really funny to me
@5:13 is Frank from the movie Hellraiser. That's actor Andrew Robinson who's face is stretched because the cenobites (with Pinhead as the leader) were pulling him apart using hooks connected to chains. This is the famous moment where he says "Jesus wept."
car doesn't yell car at you, you yell car at him to call him over to the end of the level
What.
@@Floombo floombo ..

im so sorry.

Erm
What the Garn
evil shadow the hedgehog 😰
I love the comment sections of oddheader's videos. They provide interesting context for the entries oddheader presents.
It makes me kind of sad that the last game’s sprites were ripped straight from Hylics, I hope Mason Lindroth was credited somewhere 😢
yay my monthly oddheader upload !
I was not expecting you putting a Genesis into a microwave to become an ad sponsor. Well played
The art of Offering looks amazing, sometimes though it's hard to tell if it's an arg or a mental breakdown lmao
“One last video before I go to bed”
The Video:
Really needed this today odd!
11:33 What a rabbit hole. All over a game where you either look at an apple or the inside of a flashing sphere
Discordianism is/was a joke(?) anti-religion started back in the 70s. The apple of a rendering of the Apple of Discord. It has "kallisti" written on it ("to the prettiest") written on it. The numbers five and 23 also feature prominently in the works. There's plenty of copies of "The Principia Discordia" online (the book itself was copyleft before copyleft was a thing) floating out there. It's been too long since I've looked at one of my print copies to go remember any more details than that.
Semi-related: The Church of the Subgenius.
The world of video games never ceases to amaze me. There's just so many out there. The gaming industry is bigger than movies and music combined.
1:50 Ins't the giraffe from Giraffe Town that has a Slippery hooves, i remember Vargakelethor Joel streaming the whole game and the controls is painfully slippery.
"they got it to run by replacing missing files with placeholders" sums up my experience with random RPG maker games perfectly
Perfect timing lad just hoping on my lunch break
Hoping for this video? :3

I appreciate how much Oddheader has seemed to slow down in his narration recently. I find his voiceover to be a lot more accessible like this.
I know, I know. I shouldn't be laughing but The Jingle's Game Over Screen sounds straight out of a shitpost and I just can't stop laughing about it.
9/11 Image with "unfortunate" in red pt. 12 Comic Sans without anti-aliasing is just divine comedy
Happy to see a Psychopomp shout out. Just so everyone knows, it's free on steam, with an updated and expanded version coming out soon
