    What are your dream microphones you have or would like to own?

    • @andrewharlander
      @andrewharlander Год назад +3

      U47 I’d love to own, Sennheiser MKH 414 I’ve had for years. The Sphere L22 satisfies my multiple microphone options fetish…

    • @Mister_Jahn
      @Mister_Jahn Год назад +1

      A 251type sound is just what I am after (used them in commercial studios but for home sheesh)... realistically trying to see if I can get a Colares. The other option, the ADK Cremona is more in my budget (Ive got ballads on this album that require a little better mic and I am in the market but there is very little market for affordable 251's, especially fet ones, its just those 2). Thanks for this!

      The one microphone I always wanted to own is a Neumann U67.

      I just did some sessions at Abbey Road and Chris Bolster put a large diaphragm Neumann condenser inside the kick drum and it was incredible! (along with a Neumann FET 47 on the outside). It was so good I'm now considering spending $2500 on a kick drum mic, which is insane (I blame that bloody Kiwi, haha!) Sadly, I won't have my own personal Lester to repair if I blow it up. Another great video and exceptional interview, Warren. Cheers!

    51:29 Lester Smith basically invented the grandfather of the DTP 640 Rex HAHAHA. Genius. What a man. We're so lucky you've been able to go there and take a whole tour Warren ! Makes the dream feel accessible. Thanks.

    This Abbey Road series is so good. And its really an historical document that people will look back on. Your doing it while these people are still around. Paul and Ringo coming on to talk about experiences recording would be the icing on the cake

    I had the immense pleasure of meeting and talking with Lester a few years ago when I was at a session in Studio 3. His knowledge and love for the microphones he looks after is amazing and inspiring. I told him I had an old broken mic from the ‘50s and he offered to take a look at it for me. Of course I didn’t have it with me and I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t take it with me that day - because I almost did (I knew he’d be there but thought it would be a little too cheeky to ask - but being the gentleman I then learned Lester is it’s kind of obvious he’d have tried to fix it if he could)

Although I think it's gonna be a lot more enjoyable now. I love the idea that they actually used era correct microphones.
