    I would not have used any triggers in the recording of the drums (unless you could show the sample module running through the console) but it’s not my vid, and overall it was still solid. Big ups to all the engineers who were able to get the console back to working order :)

    • @Haroun-El-Poussah
      @Haroun-El-Poussah Месяц назад

      Bidding are accepted starting €1.81 million and €2.82m immediate sale
      The AIR/Lyndhurst Hall's Neve 88 "#007" was advertised at €176,000...
      A few months ago, you still could buy the Ste.Thérèse church in St.Quentin, Yvelines, France, for €250,000...
      This facility, that has been recently sold to a circus school, was absolutely on par with Lyndhurst Hall with a 300m² big hall with 18m under the roof... Even getting the TG at the lowest bid, IMHO, it would have been more interesting to get Ste.Thérèse, the Neve and have €1.384 million left to make this church a super-studio would have been a better idea...
      And I wouldn't bet the TG12345 would be better than a Neve. For sure, it must be an ear-candy but I see it more going either to a collector or to Uli Behringer so he can make €3000 replicas, sell copies of the compressors, mic preamps, etc...

      @@freepoco2 well yeah what exactly did you expect? It’s broadcast quality transformers from the 60s, they won’t sound a lot worse than new ones. What made the old records sound ‘old’ was the vinyl pressing and all the compression that was needed for the stylus to not jump out of the grooves. Tape also doesn’t make records sound old, you can scan it in perfect quality. Also back then, radios and television recordings made everything way noisier. The console sounds beautiful and the mixing is better than on any of the Beatles records. The musicians that played here, well yeah, that’s subjective if you like them

    I can't see any Studer Taperecorder. So when you use this beautiful console and record it with Pro Tools or anything else, there is no reason to me to use this console. For sure you have to digitalize the music for the youtubevideo, but the real recording should be all analog.

    I really hope whoever buys it puts it into a working studio to give it a life again and not archive it off into the void as a collectors item.

    Great historic piece of technology. Missed opportunity to tell people how they work in detail and showcase how the different controls impact the sound. Instead, you recorded some mediocre bands and artist into them that basically sounds like everyone else. People who are interested in the stuff want a technical breakdown of the equipment. Not...this.

    I'm guessing Pink Floyd's "Atom Heart Mother" was recorded on this console the same year as Abbey Road.

    I'm not an sound engineering expert so maybe some of you guys could explain me what is the point of recording in full analog while at the bottom line everything is still converted to digital domain...? It is surely amazing piece of gear but rather museum grade artifact?
