I am an LMG main. Throw your accuracy stat and the concept of reloading out the window. Take overkill with double extended mags and prefire literally everything. Ive gotten 80+ kills like this in dom and hardpoint multiple times. Ppl with call it stupid because its not run and gun meta, but thats where LMGs shine
I use XMG with 200 rounds and gunfighter. I win almost every long range fight, except against snipers. But I can beat snipers even too sometimes. Its biggest weakness is short range fights against SMGs. However even on nuketown I consistently get between 1.5 and 2.5 elim/death ratio. LMG is my favorite gun type. Not even close to compare any other gun type imo. 200 rounds no reload??
A few tips for fellow LMG players: Don't be shy about using the mid-power 2 to 4X optics. Your ADS speed is never gonna be great, but your range is, so it can be worth it to double down on that so you can be more accurate. You should be spending a goos chunk of your time scoped in anyways with LMGs. Second, hold angles and play slower, waiting for the enemies to come to you. Run tacticals like shock traps and prox alarm, and offensive grenades like blast trap and thermo to deny space and help funnel them into chokepoints. LMGs excel in modes like domination, hardpoint and headquarters because you can shut down entire lanes if your positioning is good. Finally, use mounting whenever possible. All of the LMGs are complete laser beams when mounted. Use all these strats together and you can become a complete menace.
@@alexmaurice4274Faster handling wouldn't be bad as long as it's not overboard. A lot of people hold lanes with lmgs anyway so the open bolt delay stops that from being oppressive to a certain extent
@@MrKing-he3eowell the fastest is 300ms when you include the pre fire delay which is like the average AR. If they can’t even out TTK ARs what’s the point? They should be slower handling but faster killing than ARs imo. If they aren’t, then they’re useless.
@@stuff4812 I can hit every shot out to about 15 to 20 meters, so a bit further than shotties. But not that much further. I think it works best on the PU with the sprint to fire grip and the Fast mag 1, the other LMG's cant get enough mobility to use crossbar effectively imo.
Ace, you accidentally switched the recoil patterns of the XMG and GPMG-7. When you got to the iron sight picture, I noticed that the recoil pattern in front of the XMG is the blue recoil pattern on the left that you have labeled as the GPMG-7, and the recoil pattern you have in front of the GPMG-7 is the yellow recoil pattern on the left that you have labeled as the XMG.
its the most accurate, paired with gain twist barrel it performs a lot better down range. the ttks are very consistent with the damage ranges but... with how the servers are rn with desync, these theoretical ttks dont mean much.
I'm a 100% lmg only guy. 1st one for mobility/small mag builds 2nd one for extended mag wall shot spray builds 3rd one for anything in-between, as well as the best balanced off builds or tactical builds imo

Having to land 4 head shots to get a kill with an LMG is absolute insanity. Especially considering all the camo challenges require 100 head shot kills.

I've mained LMGs since og MW and some tips I'd suggest: BURST fire, no more than 4-5 rounds at a time, anti-flinch stocks will help you edge out those pucker situations THINK about your position, you don't have advantage on movement junkies so mind your surroundings WATCH your angles like a sniper, know where to go from cover to cover because you'll lose a quick draw fight almost every time FORGET reloading, until you've used them a while, you're likely not gonna need to reload more than once in a life with base Mag cap, COMPENSATE your recoil with attachments or you'll only hit empty air COMMUNICATE with your team, get a buddy, reloading is when you'll die the most at first, USE IRON SIGHTS if you aren't adding extra slots for attachments, irons are love, irons are life. DONT WORRY ABOUT DYING. It happens, it takes a lot of time to get good at these games already, don't stress yourself even more.
Yes, it's crazy. Movement feels like an lightweight Assault Rifle, Recoil feels like this isn't even a gun. I am on a 2.3 K/D on this XMG without even trying too hard (I kinda use guns I usually don't use when I want to chill and don't care much. Also for leveling them and for trying new stuff out. Always have one class of stuff I barely use so I can level everything at once that will be left over otherwise. Now it's the weapon with the most kills for me 😂😂 that's kinda embarrassing. But you're right, it's absolutely crazy.
Yeah basically just play anchor and hold down a lane and shred everyone that tries to rush and you’ll see how good the LMGs are but especially the XMG because of its extended mag 2 ammo capacity and “low” recoil
I've tried the PU21 and have been levelling it up nicely. It's a viable weapon to use on most maps, other than perhaps payback, babylon amd subsonic. As long as you can cope with the slow aim to fire, you can even enjoy using it on nuketown.

They dont have insane TTK. Your time to kill has to be added with the pre-fire delay unless you were just randomly firing. They have the effective TTK as an AR but have atrocious handling and reloads in a game where people appear in your face every 3 seconds.
@ i appreciate the open bolt delay, but ultimately if youre using an LMG properly (i.e. holding an angle and not jumping and sliding like a crackhead), you’re probably already holding the trigger down. On the nuke head glitch on warhead, literally nothing beats an XMG with some gentle left-right strafing.
GPMG-7 w/ crossbar, extended mag 4 and fmj. Absolutely shreds in mid-close range maps. Not a run and gun but once you get the play stye down, it's very strong imo
holding a lane/angle with a big box mag lmg and firing down it is so effective because people will just run into your bullet hose. close range they're not great but at medium long you can absolutely tear up enemies
The PU feels like a AR/LMG hybrid, the XMG feels like the traditional lockdown lmg, and the g7 feels like a hipfiring Tommy gun kind of weapon But that's just me
I like the I like how the PU-21 has the unique under barrel attachment that helps with control and ADS it’s been fun running around with it on and other mobility attachments kind like a pseudo-AR
LMGs are okay, so long as you don't try to move. The omnimovement system is so dependent on you starting to sprint before doing anything else, so the huge movement downsides of LMG just put you at a massive disadvantage against ARs and especially SMGs that can keep moving rapidly, especially up close when you have less time to react.
Na man, support’s my permanent class in every game and even though “slow movement’s” totally true in most games… you can still dive jump and 180 instantly even from prone anytime you want. First game ever where I don’t feel hindered by the bulkiness and limited movement of LMG’s. I’ve pulled so many “reversals” where a dude hits me from a hiding spot as I’m sprinting, I dive and mid-air pop him before he can get me. Plus, you gotta stay ADS’d at all times, sprint-to-fire will never match more nimble classes. Then mount corners/barriers whenever one’s near, hold a fire lane and you’re golden.

Yeah, I'd love a slow firing and hard hitting LMG/GPMG in the game too. Hell, I think they just lack those slow firing 3 shot kill guns, it's only the Tanto .22 and the Goblin Mk. 2 that fills that niche for me at the moment.
I like the concept of the M60 (really slow fire rate but hits like a truck) but I never use it in games because the handling is so abysmal. even max mobility on it, it's still garbage
@@cj_superstar9451 I'm of the opinion that the M60 was horrible in cold war, everyone was saying so. it just handled too slow, it was like 600ms ads time. thankfully lmgs are not that slow in bo6 so if they do add the M60 then it should be decent

First, this is more like a tactical/aggressive build. LMG Overkill/TAC MASK/FAST HANDS/QUARTERMASTER/STIM SHOT/SETEX/ASSAULT PACK/KNIFE AK-74 is the aggression primary - compensator - Ranger foregrip - CQB grip - Strelok laser - rapid fire XMG is the tactical secondary - Kepler Microflex - vertical foregrip - ergonomic grip - infiltrator stock - recoil springs I love this setup. I recommend AK-74 attachments the most and give it a try. AK-74 ACE'S video made me decide this build
I've only ever used the XMG and GPMG-7 in Campaign so I can't give an opinion on their performance, but I absolutely love the PU-21. It reminds me of the Bruen MK9.
I've had great success with them while camp grinding. I might keep the XMG in the rotation once I'm done. Never having to reload can be super helpful in racking up kills and not dying.
I like the GPMG. However, one of the cams challenges has me trying to use it like an SMG, because of the Point Blank kills needed. That's a pain! I always have managed to get LMGs ranked up and fully cam's before any other weapon!
I been playing with the xmg since the beta and it just shreds. I use a 200 extended mag on it. You have to hang back though. Don’t run around like a mad man with this gun. Shoot all them meth heads sprinting around from a distance. If you’re good enough you’ll even out gun some snipers.
Exactly, you gotta think about laying down suppressive fire to keep the attention on yourself so (hopefully) your team can move in unnoticed or gtfo if they landed in a killbox. Its always fun just hammering a sniper with 200 bullets from the XMG across the map, I tend to run shock sticks, c4/blast trap and mines whenever im using one of the LMG's, just to make it a bit harder to try and jump my position.
I knew I wasn’t tripping with the XMG when it came to headshots in the beta. It was a headshot machine, literally felt like I couldn’t stop getting headshot kills even when I wasn’t going for them that much. Great for kill feeds. 😂🔥
I like all 3 LMG. My favorite most fun guns in the game. Better mobility than past games and great TTK. And they just sound cooler than the other guns, that have kinda gone back to sounding like typewriters.
It was the PU cuz the mobility but dude even with attachments the recoil is a bit much especially at range, so now it’s the gmp, but I need to give the xmg a try.
The crossbar attachment is such a disappointment. There's really no point to have it on since it doesn't really increase the movement/handling. It definitely ain't no Chainsaw, Crossbar Hades, Bracefire Taq, etc.
Glad it's not it was very oppressive especially in Nuketown 24/7 in bo4. Still to this day you'll have four stacks or more running lobbies with the hades crossbar.
@SkyRiseDon You must have a bad memory. Sure, the Titan was way better, but mobility wise, the hades was superior. Again, go try to play Nuketown 24/7 on bo4. You may come up against 4-6 stacks full of crossbars. It's was busted.
I've been getting some play of the games using the PU-21 with the 45 round magazine. For some reason I seem to get quite a few headshots when using it.
As an aged gamer, XMG was a saving grace that kept in in the game. Yes I'm a camper, I don't have the reflexes to handle MW3 movement never mind BO6 omnipotent diving out of windows into your face run and gun BS.... I'll find a nice little choke point or set one up and score easy 40+ kills in TDM but my favourite thing is Kill Confirmed... I set up my choke points and bait with decoy grenade.... 😈 then bait with the dog tags it's too good. After 3 kills change location as you'll always have a sweaty player looking for that revenge medal. (Of course, I leave a spring mine for them as a parting gift)
u can upgrade your monitor, a better higher refresh rate would help your crosshair stay on target better especially smg run and gun meta, also increase your mouse sensitivity too.
If you willingly break your own legs and give up some of the most powerful movement we’ve had in years AND you can pre-fire every gunfight to work around the trigger delay, the LMGs are excellent! So no, they’re not very good lmao.
I like them all but the XMG i feel sluggish and the 7 second reload always gets me killed how fast the gameplay is. The game need more attachments that help benefit the LMGs
XMG with extended mags 1 gets 50 extra shots (50% increase) but the reload time feels the same rn? Around 6.5 seconds like the base reload XMG with recoil attachments is crazy easy to use, I don't even main it and it's still one of my go-to "I want to get a crazy streak without much effort" guns.
I know this is Cod and realism is not a major concern, but It still feels weird to see the 2 LMGs using smaller caliber have faster TTK than the one loaded with 7.62 NATO. But it's all for balancing purposes when you take their fire rate into account as well, I guess

Yeah fr if anything let it be like 10 Ms so it’s there for a cool realism effect- but it’s barely noticeable

The PU 21 is worth a try with the small magazines. In snd, its really the only LMG you can use without dying during reload
It’s currently my go to LMG. With a smaller mag, vertical grip, and fast ADS grip it’s a solid gun as long as you don’t “run and gun”.

They all burn down streaks fairly easily even without FMJ.
Just run the svd. 3 shots uav and 4 shots cuav
Run the XMG with bullet velocity barrel and fmj rounds. It will melt streaks, can even shoot a HARP down with ease

When grinding Gold for the PU21 I had a lot of fun after basically turning it into an AR with great damage range
This was my experience too. Just spec it out to improve handling stuff and treat it like a pseudo AR that you can just keep firing.
one thing with lmgs often not mentioned, you have virtually zero flinch. you will never miss a target because of flinch with an LMG.

The GPMG is absolutely trash.
I love the headshot camo challenges especially when headshots do nothing to affect your ttk on tons of guns in this game! Make sense!
Or when my 7.62 monster lands 3 shots to a guy's head, only to die myself from 3 .22 win mags to the torso.
LMG is my favorite category. Got them diamond. My favorite guns while I was in the military were 240b and M2 50.

My favorite LMG is the Akimbo Full-Auto pistol with the drum mags.
Biggest problem with the GPMG is, being such a late unlock, you'll never actually get to use it if you're prestiging as that comes up.

I’ve been enjoying leveling the LMG’s on Nuketown. Thermal, FMJ and the spy camera (wall hacks!) is so nasty.

I've only ever used the XMG and GPMG-7 in Campaign so I can't give an opinion on their performance, but I absolutely love the PU-21. It reminds me of the Bruen MK9.
I've had great success with them while camp grinding. I might keep the XMG in the rotation once I'm done. Never having to reload can be super helpful in racking up kills and not dying.
I like the GPMG. However, one of the cams challenges has me trying to use it like an SMG, because of the Point Blank kills needed. That's a pain! I always have managed to get LMGs ranked up and fully cam's before any other weapon!
i have been absolutely beaming with the GPMG to my surprise while leveling it up to max, was doing better than with some of my AR's
They're the most slept on class right now, and with FMJ and a large mag, walls are an illusion
I been playing with the xmg since the beta and it just shreds. I use a 200 extended mag on it. You have to hang back though. Don’t run around like a mad man with this gun. Shoot all them meth heads sprinting around from a distance. If you’re good enough you’ll even out gun some snipers.
Exactly, you gotta think about laying down suppressive fire to keep the attention on yourself so (hopefully) your team can move in unnoticed or gtfo if they landed in a killbox.
Its always fun just hammering a sniper with 200 bullets from the XMG across the map, I tend to run shock sticks, c4/blast trap and mines whenever im using one of the LMG's, just to make it a bit harder to try and jump my position.

I knew I wasn’t tripping with the XMG when it came to headshots in the beta. It was a headshot machine, literally felt like I couldn’t stop getting headshot kills even when I wasn’t going for them that much. Great for kill feeds. 😂🔥
I like all 3 LMG. My favorite most fun guns in the game. Better mobility than past games and great TTK. And they just sound cooler than the other guns, that have kinda gone back to sounding like typewriters.

I want to love the PU cause I think Mag Loaded LMG’s are cool, but it’s a struggle at times.

It was the PU cuz the mobility but dude even with attachments the recoil is a bit much especially at range, so now it’s the gmp, but I need to give the xmg a try.

The crossbar attachment is such a disappointment. There's really no point to have it on since it doesn't really increase the movement/handling.
It definitely ain't no Chainsaw, Crossbar Hades, Bracefire Taq, etc.
Glad it's not it was very oppressive especially in Nuketown 24/7 in bo4. Still to this day you'll have four stacks or more running lobbies with the hades crossbar.

@SkyRiseDon You must have a bad memory. Sure, the Titan was way better, but mobility wise, the hades was superior. Again, go try to play Nuketown 24/7 on bo4. You may come up against 4-6 stacks full of crossbars. It's was busted.

I do like the XMG with thermo and a few vert recoil control. A mobile stock and it's a nice laser with 150mag.
The last lmg is actually insane

I've been getting some play of the games using the PU-21 with the 45 round magazine. For some reason I seem to get quite a few headshots when using it.
The xmg is the go to

As an aged gamer, XMG was a saving grace that kept in in the game.
Yes I'm a camper, I don't have the reflexes to handle MW3 movement never mind BO6 omnipotent diving out of windows into your face run and gun BS.... I'll find a nice little choke point or set one up and score easy 40+ kills in TDM but my favourite thing is Kill Confirmed... I set up my choke points and bait with decoy grenade.... 😈 then bait with the dog tags it's too good. After 3 kills change location as you'll always have a sweaty player looking for that revenge medal. (Of course, I leave a spring mine for them as a parting gift)
u can upgrade your monitor, a better higher refresh rate would help your crosshair stay on target better especially smg run and gun meta, also increase your mouse sensitivity too.

If you willingly break your own legs and give up some of the most powerful movement we’ve had in years AND you can pre-fire every gunfight to work around the trigger delay, the LMGs are excellent!

I’m really curious about your thoughts on pistols and snipers. Especially the druganov, that thing is ridiculous.
I like them all but the XMG i feel sluggish and the 7 second reload always gets me killed how fast the gameplay is. The game need more attachments that help benefit the LMGs
XMG with extended mags 1 gets 50 extra shots (50% increase) but the reload time feels the same rn? Around 6.5 seconds like the base reload
XMG with recoil attachments is crazy easy to use, I don't even main it and it's still one of my go-to "I want to get a crazy streak without much effort" guns.
I know this is Cod and realism is not a major concern, but It still feels weird to see the 2 LMGs using smaller caliber have faster TTK than the one loaded with 7.62 NATO. But it's all for balancing purposes when you take their fire rate into account as well, I guess

XMG in HC is pretty awesome I gotta say, I hate how inaccurate the PU21 is
I want to be perfect xmg guy but I only consistently wipe teams with the gmpg. For some reason , like it just flows with my style
peak LMG gameplay : small map 200 round, keep holding left mouse into any potential enemy direction, rack up prefire kills.
forget about reload, you die and respawn to refill your magazine. "i'm not dead, this is what i call 'reloading my weapon' ".

if youre a real one, use thermal + 3 smokes. its joever for the enemies.

You will not catch me using and LMG in COD, but if I did, suppressor + thermal + extended mags + smoke grenades.
I think the LMGs are slept on a bit in this game, the XMG is insane, you just have to play a bit slower
honestly for me at least the xmg clears the other 2 by a longshot, when you get the gun rolling it just maws through enemies like its nothing
