@@AlexFS_ he's not suggesting that should be a thing, thats how it works currently, it will refill one of your tacticals and lethal everytime you collect a scav pack
I had no idea Scavenger once again replenished grenades. They got rid of that ability since, like Black Ops 2. In this game, Scavenger's description doesn't even tell you that either.
There’s genuinely zero red perk options in the second column… both incredibly niche, one that’s unlocked at 53… it’s just bad. Gung-ho should have been in the second column. All red perks are just not good. Double time is the only one I find myself using.
@@BrendanGregg-uh4lwExcept if you want scorestreaks, you kinda have to use green perks for the specialty. It makes no sense why bankroll/assasin are red perks when they focus on score streaks. at the very least bankroll should be green
Treyarch said prior to release combat specialty adds variety on the perk choices but it is exact opposite. If you are not using one of these specialties you definitely at a disadvantage also because it limits perk choice you also kind of have to use perk greed as well. They just need to stop trying to innovate with perks and give us what we always had just normal perk system without any gimmicks.
Who would have thought that railroading everything into exactly three arbitrary, polarized categories of perks would have led to such homogenization? Anyone with half a brain, honestly. Which apparently doesn’t include any of the gameplay design team at Treyarch this year.
I don't mind some degree of messing around with the perk system, Ghosts was pretty nice in that regard, you have wildcards across bunch of games that add or adjust what you're allowed to pick, including the vests in MW3 2023 were fun especially after they all got less restrictive on classes. (We don't talk about the MW2 2022 one, that sucked.) I do like the idea of combat specialties, but this game does feel a touch more restrictive than ever, and it needs at the very least a viable option to encourage variety rather than limiting somewhat to what combat specialty you feel like.
Yes but only for rocket launchers because they take too long and are currently bugged where if you die while the missile is in flight it disappears and the lock on isn't working right either
This is what i like about your channel; having issues with a game is easy, offering solutions is not. Really good suggestions that could make the red tier more viable.
Literally only ever use perk greed (my first perma-unlock) or Gunfighter except the rare times I change it for challenges. Most of the wildcards are useless compared to those two
Thank you for talking about this, Ace. Every studio the past couple of years has been trying to reinvent the wheel with the perk system. MWIII still feels the best to me with the sheer amount of options while the system in BO6 is absolutely crippled by having everything revolve around the combat specialties in combination with overloading value into certain tiers and colors. It's supposed to promote variety, but I think it does the exact opposite with the way that it's set up right now, and I'm rarely feeling like any particular setup I run is one that I'm really satisfied with.
Then I would equip gearhead and equip warcry or any other field upgrade with scavenger as you’ll always get your tacticals and lethals which I didn’t know!!
Scavenger and Assault pack refill nades but the issue is Treyarch doesn’t want to reward players for running and gunning as much (as we can see with Recon specialist) Assault Packs are the first Field upgrade players have unlocked and by far the most used Field Upgrade so it defeats the purpose of Scavenger unless you’re going for the Enforcer specialty. But this is why I have such a problem with this game bc the perk balance is just stupid and the game caters to campers more often than it does to movement.
I think a good Dexterity buff would be to add these extra effects in addition to what it already does: - Your mantling speeds for low objects (such as a window) are increased very slightly, 5-10% faster - Your mantling speeds for high objects (such as larger walls) are increased greatly (especially considering how slow these already are, they deserve a bigger number), something like 25% faster. - and the Ability to shoot while mantling low objects (although only hipfire) I think dexterity should be a perk that gives a multitude of small benefits to help you win more gunfights, by buffing mantling speeds you keep the thematic of red perks, being the "aggressive" ones, and grants a small edge over those not using this perk. And the firing while mantling is the big one, giving you a huge advantage, considering it's a tier 1 perk, it needs such a big effect, especially when compared to the big ones like ghost or flak jacket.
my only disagreement is with the power of scavenger, since it gives you back a tactical and lethal on every kill (provided you can grab the pack) INCLUDING on explosive kills which was not the case in previous titles, makes it one of the best perks not just once youre on a streak but also for getting the streaks in the first place since you can have a stim ready after every fight and a simtex going into each one. that said its still always my 4th perk due to always wanting either green or blue specialty, cause if ive got red specialty i dont need the stim after every fight etc etc etc i do also love the idea of a generalist perk for all 3, maybe it gives you the speed on kill, the extra score, and the respawn blip? the secondary effects of all the other specialist perks
With Scavenger, you can basically begin a fight with a lethal every single time, because you replenish it when looting the enemy. So it is quite beneficial for a play style like that.
Yeah, i dont agree with aces take on scavenger. It absolutely is competitive with ghost/ninja/flak jacket. Grenade spam is powerful, and if it was a tier 2/3 perk that would make obj games a nightmare.
On the topic of perks I hope we get sleight of hand or something similar because imo reload speeds in this game are just far too slow across the board.
That's the same as zombie players complaining about no double tap. You have to use fast mag as a magazine attachment, meaning you get lesss bullets. Meaning you have to hit your shots. Meaning you need skill
@@lilseal7524this is such an L take imo, if I’m using a full mag w/ fast mag on 4 guys running at me with 25 in the mag, how much more skilled do I have to be with the 5th, esp if I’m aiming for upper body-heads. And it’s zombies bro, have fun, chill out, give us double tap lol. Actually Ykw I take that back it’s not “imo” it is factually/objectively/non-fictionally the most horrid take I’ve ever seen that u just said lol
@@maniacalcoast2742 chill out kid. You're playing 6v6. Ain't no way 4 guys be running at you. Figure it out. That's why gung-go exist. Pull out the secondary. Sounds like you're just looking for reasons to cry
Omg you preaching to the choir right now Ace with that Bruiser perk, i absolutely LOVE knifing only & that flinch with combat axe & knife in general takes away so much of my kills & power it’s so punishing
that “generalist” combat specialty idea you had was actually great, i feel like that could seriously open up countless opportunities for various fun playstyles
You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned it feels like we are missing out if we aren’t using a combat specialty, and that the red tier perks are just not good. I definitely only use blue or green on pretty much all my setups
They definitely should buff the red perks. For Gun Ho, maybe give faster reload speed like old Sleight of Hand. For Dexterity, make mantle speed faster and give 0 fall damage. For Bruiser, maybe make “point-blank” kills count also, so gun-users can benefit. As for the Enforcer specialty, maybe add a temporary Ghost / Flak Jacket / Tac Mask effect on kill (one of those). This would make up for not picking those perks, and honestly Enforcer would still be the weakest Combat Specialty of the three.
for me what I like in the modern warfare series is that you could equip a bigger mag and reload faster with a perk, every other black ops you could choose a hybrid of both but it's not available anymore so maybe as a buff for fast hands to reload faster
I noticed there aren’t many UAVs being called in in this CoD, but I wonder if that’s because people are running Scout Pulse. I’ve stepped away from Ghost and just use my launcher whenever an UAV gets called which is often 0 or only 1 per game (in TDM at least)
I dont understand why they dont just add like a faster reload time to the enforcer perk, like, this is supposed to be a rusher kind of play style, but you can't reload any faster, if you are running and dont have the gun ho perk, you wont be able to utilize this or the fact that the regenerative properties of that specialty are kinda lackluster as you're better off using stims than rely on your ability, as it takes some time to properly activate and when it does you may be in a place where is just a matter of milliseconds to die and that haven't trigger yet. I understand that treyarch doesnt like to use any type of fast reload in their games, but this could be the difference if they are willing to keep this specialties interesting, just imagine this type of playstyle, it would be a HUGE difference.
The overlap between red and green perks is a bit frustrating. Throwing equipment faster is the only reason I use green perks. I 100% agree with your assessment and recommendations for Fast Hands. I also don't see much point to Quartermaster when using Gearhead and Assault Pack. Way more bang for the buck.
Quartermaster is doubly useless when we have scavenger that can replenish equipment as well. It made sense back when scavenger didnt resupply grenades, but since thats no longer the case quartermaster is kinda outclassed
Scavenger is stronger than assault pack WITH gearhead. And it’s WAY stronger than quartermaster. Run it for a while. Make a point of trying to spend your tactical and lethal as much as you can (try shock charge and Molotov or something). Start with it on the kill confirmed game which already wants you to run over corpses.
Loved your combat speciality feedback segment. I 100% agree on everything you stated and I also feel pigeonholed into making sure I have a combat speciality equipped/activated.
For the "Generalist" idea, I think giving the player lightweight + faster mantle would make sense, they'd be nice bonuses without being too play style defining
Scavenger is absolutely a tier 1 perk now that it also lets you get both your lethal and tactical back. Combine Dexterity and Gung-Ho into one perk again to make it a tier 1 perk.
Scavenger is the best Tier 1 perk in my opinion. It gives you more survivability because you can restock your tacticals and lethals so if you have stims you can survive much longer
To add variety they could add a Tier system to the combat specialty perks. So if you invest one perk you will get a tier of the specialty and so on. Example with Recon: Tier 1 (1 blue perk) - Leave no death marker skulls when eliminating enemies. Tier 2 ( 2 blue perks) - See enemies through walls upon respawn for short time. Tier 3 (3 blue perks) - HUD edge indicator. Players could then mix and match a bit more and invest as much as they would like.
Getting a part of the specialty bonus depending on how many of one colour you have is probably the best idea. Small bonuses for 1 perk, a little more for 2 and full for 3. Was literally thinking that same thing before you said it.
I love and completely agree with your proposed changes. They really need to be improved. Honestly, I would love to see some changes with double time, or even remove it and combine it with other perks. I never see a reason to take it over other perks due to it literally only buffing tactical sprint somewhat.
I use scavenger as a perk that allows me to be as aggressive as possible, using the most stimshots as possible as I kill each enemy, so I just need to step back when I need to reload my gun, usually a SMG with the biggest ammo mag possible. So for my playstyle is an awesome perk!
The Jack of All Trades specialty bonus (1 perk of each color) could be sort of a mix of the other specialties. Maybe something like: - On kill, increased tactical sprint speed. - Earn a slight score bonus for objectives. (+15 instead of +50) - HUD indicator if enemy ADS’s on you.
For the red perks in slot 1, combining Dexterity and Gung Ho could work and then you replace Scavenger with Sleight of Hand for faster reloads. Make the reloads old school CoD speed to really cater to an aggressive playstyle.
Mixing and matching perks of different colors in different tiers would open variety by a large margin. Buff matching all three colors a bit, but by getting something special for a red tier 1, blue tier 2, and green tier 3, for example, it opens more possibilities. That'd be really interesting.
Perk balance is horrible in this game. Tac Mask/Flak Jacket being in the same tier makes no sense. The only tier 2 & 3 perks I’ve used are dispatcher and bankroll, they work well together and I just find the rest of the perks (besides shadow and forward intel) essentially useless.
Scavenger used to be my go-to, but due to with SBMM I'm never going on insane streaks anymore where I need more ammo. It went from a crutch for me, to absolutely useless.
New Wildcards could be cool For example: - Perk specialist, you can change the color of 2 selected perks -Perk obsession, You can select 5 perks at the cost of your combat specialty - Pick 10 , Select 10 weapons, attachments, tacticals, lethals and perks. (You could go base aek with 9 perks but no lethals, tactical, FU, etc lol) I know i'm late but i feel like a cook
Another idea that I think would open up perk options would be to make some perks multicolored. For example, maybe combine the effects of scavenger and fast hands into one perk, and in the menu, it shows as both a green and red perk, opening up more perk options while still able to gain the combat specialties.
I perk greed dexterity. I know a lot of people think it's useless but it helps me land that extra shot when sliding or jumping and that one shot makes the difference often.
This was a great breakdown of the issues with the perk system as I see them as well. As a full melee/combat axe player that uses scavenger (to ensure that I always have a combat axe) and all red perks for my set up, I hate how they stacked all of the most of the perks, but none worse #1. I would play any of five perks in this position, but of all things, Scavenger is a crutch for my playstyle. So I end up using Perk greed to have access to Ninja, a 100% necessary element to my melee build. So I would love to see Scavenger move to Tier 3 and take the place of Double Time. While I love the extra Tac Sprint, the Enforcer Combat Specialty really helps with that, and being able to actually climb up to windows and ledges without intsa-dying would be excellent. Same thing about moving Fast Hands to red. This would compete for Assassin and Bruiser and would likely win, especially if Fast Hands ACTUALLY improves the speed at which I can throw axes as well as weapon swap speed. (does it? For that matter, does the Green Combat Specialty increase the rate/speed of combat axes?) As for Bruiser, I think that Bruiser's healing impact needs to be studied. Because it feels like sometimes it gets ignored or takes time to restore, which is fine, but how does it interact with the Enforcer regen rate? Playing full melee there could be times where I hit quad feed with three knives and an axe, and someone shooting during it kills me with 5 shots for 100 damage. Where did my health bonus or regen go? Any way, great stuff as always, if you ever need a guinea pig and test subject for throwing knives/combat axe/melee weapons, I will help in any way I can. Now, can we PLEASE ask someone at Activision what the hell is going on with Free For All win conditions? Thanks again!!
Maybe it’s a thought to make the specialty perks a 3 step activation thingy. Equip 1 blue perk: leave no death skulls Equip 2 blue perks: get edge hud indicator Equip 3 blue perks: get the vision when you spawn. Equip 1 green perk: see equipment through walls (this one might need to be changed then because there’s already a perk for it Equip 2 green perks: deploy equipment faster Equip 3 green perks: earn extra score for objective Equip 1 red perk: movement speed Equip 2 red perks: get health recovery on kill Equip 3 red perks: (we gotta think of something new and good here) This way it makes it waaaayy more free in choosing 1 perk per color but maybe also if you want 2 of one color and 1 of another. Bigger benefits if you were to commit more to a color, but less downside if you wanna mix and match
A “Color Blind” wild card could be interesting. You can change the color of 2 of your 3 perks to a different one. For example you could change Ghost, a blue perk to either red or green.
Going into this video I thought I would have some more notes of my own, but it's like you read my mind. Though, if I were to add a little myself I would say these maybe 5 things: 1) For Dexterity I would say it should also allow for reduced or even eliminated aim down sights penalties while jumping, sliding and diving. 2) Gung-Ho should drastically reduce tac-sprint ads and sprint-to-fire penalties. You might think these go a little too far, but you gotta remember these need to be able to be truly competitive with the like of Ghost, Ninja and Flak Jacket, not just to be somewhat competitive among perk 1 in general. 3) I would add to Fast Hands' buff and say allow for fast reloading of launchers, faster streak deployment and add Guardian's revive buff. It's probably be too much work for the devs but I loved the quick draw feature for pistols in MW22 where you could have it out without putting away your primary fully. 4) I'd love to make Bruiser really competitive and would maybe reccomment allowing for the return of panic-knifing if it is equipped along with carrying tomahawks, though I'm not dead set on this lol. 5) Buff Assasing to be like it was in Cold War, that's all I want😭 I really think this game could have one of the best perk systems we've ever seen with the mix of colour and number categories that we see to add a layer of depth. I think true balance wouldn't be hard to achieve like you demonstrated I this video and I'd really love to be able to use more than just Ghost, Ninja, Flak Jacket, Shadow, Cold Blooded and Vigilance
Love the ideas. The generalist specialty sounds like a great way to increase variety to me. I also think another wildcard that allows you to pick any 3 perks(flak jacket, ghost, and ninja for example) would be fun. May be OP but you would sacrifice your combat specialty as well as a fourth perk if you can’t get perk greed
Bruiser should allow 2 hit kill melee kill in one hit. To balance this make the knife 2 hit as well. Maybe a speed boost too, while equipped with a melee weapon.
I love most of these ideas. I pretty much just permanently use green perks for that specialty. Shadow is strong as hell, as I'm CONSTANTLY running into traps. For my gameplay and my experience, that perk was a big game changer when it was added. I almost exclusively use Gunfighter too, so my perk loadout is almost always the same.
I LOVE the generalist combat specialty idea. Maybe it’s focused on team support somehow! Also Shadow could hide enemy skulls to their teammates, like the Recon specialist.
Scavenger is probably the only red perk I personally care about in this game. I don't mind assassin and bankroll, but they aren't something I actively consider much unless wanting enforcer active. And I like the idea of enforcer, but it honestly feels a bit pathetic, always like the bare minimum, both in effect and active time. I understand your feedback in this video, and I definitely agree it would be nice to see more variety that could be done if there was an encouragement for at least one of each colour as well.
tbh gung ho is kinda underrated- if you use a gun with a smaller mag or a fast mag and have enforcer combat specialty active, you can shred through entire teams one by one before they can even react
They could also add the ability that with the Bruiser Perk equipped it replaces using the butt of your weapon with the old school instant kill knife attack from older CoDs while using the melee attack.
I like to use Strategist in small maps. Not because I can keep having ammo, but I can keep replenishing my grenades and tactical equipment over time. I also get Quartermaster, so I can really spam the tactical equipment all over the map.
I've said this since the show case before the beta, speciality bonus perks will limit perks variety and will bent many players hands into using specific perks they don't want to use On top of that, one if the main reason why some perks are literally useless is because the existence of specialty system, they had to strap down some features of perks to be added to the specialty bonus
I play SnD and I love fast hands for the quick sway to the RL to shoot down the UAVs. I'm glad it's in green because I also like QM and FJ. I use greed and use ninja too.
No one is ever happy with the launch of any latest CODs!! At this point Xclusive Ace NEEDs to be employed as a game designer or something! You would be great because you are a great gamer and my number 1 COD youtuber! Thank you Ace!!
Shrapnel Radar: Make it like the specialist perk where you can see thru walls. Change it to red perk because now it's more of an offensive push. Would really make tactical grenades better, which might make using the tactical perk greed useful.
For dexterity am finding it only really worthwhile on sniper rifles paired with tac insert. This allows you to spawn at elevated positions and dive out the window for suprise attacks. If you get any chip damage the fall won't kill you when fall damage is applied.
I agree with everything you said but I never thought of the perk system as tiers signifying how strong they were. I just kind of assumed that it was essentially just perk 1 perk 2 perk 3 in the sense that you get three perk slots, not that one is better and 3 is the least important.
Speak of combinations, maybe the specialty could be modified to only require 2 perks to trigger, while the extra perk granted by the Perk Greed could be treated as a “gray skill” and not counted towards the speciality calculation. This would greatly expand the flexibility of skill combinations, while actually nerfing the Perk Greed, making it no longer a “necessity” for completing the specialty.
Love some of your ideas, specifically on Guardian and Fast Hands. I do think you are undervaluing Fast Hands overall though, it’s invaluable on any Overkill class setup, and great for slower weapons like LMG’s and Sniper’s when you constantly want to switch to your knife or pistol to move around faster. I do think Tac Mask should be moved to Tier 2. I also think Assassin and Bruiser should be rolled into one singular perk, giving you a perk option to hunt down targets for extra score, and an extra bonus for using melee. Furthermore, Dexterity needs to be moved all the way to Tier 3 and Gung-Ho and Scavenger can stay Tier 1, but they need a little love. Your suggestion for hip fire while sprinting is great. I’ve found Scavenger to be one of my most used and essential perks. It makes smaller magazine weapon builds actually viable, and recovering equipment is a great addition. It also makes me comfortable not running Assault Pack, as I will always have it equipped if I’m not running Scav. I think a solid buff though would be to make it start you with full ammo on respawn
Tbh I've been running scav as my perk greed *a lot*. It can be pretty impactful if you play into it and spam equipment Tip: Shock charge + impact or semtex is really funny. wait behind a corner for the charge to go off and throw the explosive. Pick the pack and reset. Also to add to the specialty discussion.. On top of offering ways to get some of the benefits from another color perk, there could be a weaker version of the specialty for matching two perks. Perk greed would be unable to gain two of these weaker specialty bonuses of course, in case where you'd have 2 and 2, the one you have more of from your normal perks would edge out.
I want a small buff/tweak to perk greed to aid in better perk diversity. Perk greed would allow you to get specialties with 2 perks of the same color, you still only get 1 specialty and it can't come from your perk greed color. This would be good alongside the generalist speciality that Ace was talking about.
The fact that you have to use perk greed to make tac mask worth taking means that it's a bad perk. Sure it's great when combined with flak jacket but if you aren't taking four perks, nobody is ever going to bring tac mask on any build
@ flak and grenades do need to be balanced but that doesn’t meal tax mask is a bad perk, if still say it’s better than most slot 2 and 3 perks, hence why I take it over the others
One red perk they could (and should) add to Tier 1 is Lightweight. Move slightly faster and slide/dive further. I would 100% use that over Ghost/Ninja/Flak Jacket in my SMG classes at times.
11:19 If you regularly use vigilance, you have to reduce the size of the minimap back to default in order for the icon to properly display. I tried this after hours of using vigilance wondering why I could barely see it but that’s why. If you increase the minimap size it will also hide the timer and (winning/losing) graphic below depending on how much you increase it. Too bad they didn’t think that whole customizable HUD thing through fully.
Man I just want to go back to pick 10 or the Ghosts perk system for one more year, I'm so sick of gunsmith and it feels we're stuck with it until the game isn't balanced around warzone
@@Vinseenit I’m not sure how well Pick10 would work in this game with the large number of attachment slots relative to previous CoDs. It was peak in BO3 though
I hope Treyarch sincerely considers most of this feedback. These all seem like great changes, but just let me say that adding Quick Fix to this game would be seriously dangerous for me. I had it on every class in MW19 lol. Also I think Scavenger is seriously underrated in BO6 since it not only replenishes your ammo but your lethal and tactical equipment as well. I run it as my Perk Greed in a lot of my classes since it allows you to immediately replenish your Stim after a fight and allows me multiple Semtex a life.
Love to see a video about this use it all the time Scavenger is great for kill Confirm you already have to go over their body. Stems or smoke. SMG assault rifle or shotgun. With smoke use thermal and suppressor change color of enemy. So you can see them better. And don’t forget to stay crouch most bolts will always miss then if you’re camping if you’re running slide for every tag tactical shocks worked great as well and when pick up another one throw the other one in a random location I wish you could pick up shocks like in bo2 miss the good little days
If we're keeping specialties, then I do think a generalist one would be pretty cool. Or maybe also making a specialty require 2/3 perks of one color, not all 3. That would open up a ton of options and variety, I think.
Scavenger is playstyle defining, its just the playstyle it defines is "you cant have ninja, flack jacket, and tac mask at the same time so most people just lose to impact grenades or stun spam"
I like the sound of option 1 or 3 from the end of the video or even have both. I was thinking that they should add some more specialist perks and even having some being you pick two of one color and one of another unlocking another type of perk. Just open up the variety.
Shrapnel Radar excels in specific scenarios. I find it incredibly useful in Hardpoint, where it helps me pinpoint how many enemies are on the objective and their positions (often lying on the Hardpoint). In Domination and certain S&D lines, it’s invaluable for revealing enemy numbers and providing crucial intel in those modes. However, in modes like Free-For-All or Team Deathmatch, it’s definitely not worth using.
Finally someone is talking about the perk balance. I really hope Treyarch listens as some of the perks are balanced really poorly.

Idk man ghosts perk system was innovative and cool
Gung Ho giving you the ability to go into Tac Stance without requiring an attachment could make for an interesting buff to it I think.
Wow! Great idea 💡
Ooooh I like that
Or just combine gung ho and fast hands
solid idea, same to you @samking5101
Not if it’s forced like mw3
Fast hands should also decrease reload times as well.
That perk should allow you to throw equipment faster. Rather than that ability being used in the strategist special perk.
Yes but only for rocket launchers because they take too long and are currently bugged where if you die while the missile is in flight it disappears and the lock on isn't working right either
This is what i like about your channel; having issues with a game is easy, offering solutions is not. Really good suggestions that could make the red tier more viable.
Rebalancing the perks would also help wildcard variety as well. Combat specialities and bad perk balance make perk greed pretty much a crutch
Scavenger is really nice. Nade refill on every kill can make you go kinda insane.
Assault pack doesnt really replace that imho.
Yeah, assault pack is too infrequent to be a scavenger replacement. I feel ace only focused on the ammo aspect of scavenger and not the grenades
Also instant refill of stims is really helpful in something like hardpoint
@@gamerrevolutonyea scavenger in objective game modes is so good, you can spam tacticals and nades to shut down a lane for a couple of seconds.
I think a good Dexterity buff would be to add these extra effects in addition to what it already does:
- Your mantling speeds for low objects (such as a window) are increased very slightly, 5-10% faster
- Your mantling speeds for high objects (such as larger walls) are increased greatly (especially considering how slow these already are, they deserve a bigger number), something like 25% faster.
- and the Ability to shoot while mantling low objects (although only hipfire)
I think dexterity should be a perk that gives a multitude of small benefits to help you win more gunfights, by buffing mantling speeds you keep the thematic of red perks, being the "aggressive" ones, and grants a small edge over those not using this perk. And the firing while mantling is the big one, giving you a huge advantage, considering it's a tier 1 perk, it needs such a big effect, especially when compared to the big ones like ghost or flak jacket.
Make Quickfix a perk. Aggressive builds really need this back to thrive again.
This is what guardian should've been
That’s what I thought Guardian was supposed to be when I first got the game
Too op
@@victor_734 It's in multiple other CoD games and didn't cause any issues...
@@victor_734”Too op” ☝️🤓
my only disagreement is with the power of scavenger, since it gives you back a tactical and lethal on every kill (provided you can grab the pack) INCLUDING on explosive kills which was not the case in previous titles, makes it one of the best perks not just once youre on a streak but also for getting the streaks in the first place since you can have a stim ready after every fight and a simtex going into each one. that said its still always my 4th perk due to always wanting either green or blue specialty, cause if ive got red specialty i dont need the stim after every fight etc etc etc
i do also love the idea of a generalist perk for all 3, maybe it gives you the speed on kill, the extra score, and the respawn blip? the secondary effects of all the other specialist perks
@@maniacalcoast2742 do COD games no longer tell you that switching to your sidearm is faster than reloading?
This game needs faster mantle desperately
for me what I like in the modern warfare series is that you could equip a bigger mag and reload faster with a perk, every other black ops you could choose a hybrid of both but it's not available anymore so maybe as a buff for fast hands to reload faster
I hate that I like Ghost so much, and that It is so valuable, because I can not play anything else.
Every time I do not use Ghost, I just regret it.
Most relatable comment ever
I noticed there aren’t many UAVs being called in in this CoD, but I wonder if that’s because people are running Scout Pulse. I’ve stepped away from Ghost and just use my launcher whenever an UAV gets called which is often 0 or only 1 per game (in TDM at least)
For me the crutch goes to vigilance. I see soo many cuavs, and the fact they take TWO launcher shots means I'm better off just ignoring them
@@GoesWithTheNameOfGTJ does it not protect you against scout pulse as well ?????
Ghost is not really useful in objective based game modes and small maps because enemies already know you’re heading to the objective.
3arch hates sleight of hand idk why
They could’ve moved either into tier two. Because Ref perk tier two are underwhelming
Scavenger is the best Tier 1 perk in my opinion. It gives you more survivability because you can restock your tacticals and lethals so if you have stims you can survive much longer
The problem is that you would have to survive against UAVs and explosives whilst the enemies can hear your footsteps
To add variety they could add a Tier system to the combat specialty perks. So if you invest one perk you will get a tier of the specialty and so on.
Example with Recon:
Tier 1 (1 blue perk) - Leave no death marker skulls when eliminating enemies.
They should make a perk that allows you to infinity dolphin drive across the map so you could be Superman 🗿🗿
I like the generalist specialist idea. Gives meaning to mix and match.
I use scavenger as a perk that allows me to be as aggressive as possible, using the most stimshots as possible as I kill each enemy, so I just need to step back when I need to reload my gun, usually a SMG with the biggest ammo mag possible. So for my playstyle is an awesome perk!
Bo3 Gung Ho was 🔥
Bo2 Dexterity 💯
The Jack of All Trades specialty bonus (1 perk of each color) could be sort of a mix of the other specialties. Maybe something like:
- On kill, increased tactical sprint speed.
- Earn a slight score bonus for objectives. (+15 instead of +50)
- HUD indicator if enemy ADS’s on you.
For the red perks in slot 1, combining Dexterity and Gung Ho could work and then you replace Scavenger with Sleight of Hand for faster reloads. Make the reloads old school CoD speed to really cater to an aggressive playstyle.
Ace, I'm scared. If you suggest reworking Bruiser, they might end up turning it into Commando and we're all gonna start having PTSD flashbacks.
Given how bad melee are in this game, commando wouldn't be that bad at all
More like nostalgia
New Wildcards could be cool
For example:
- Perk specialist, you can change the color of 2 selected perks
-Perk obsession, You can select 5 perks at the cost of your combat specialty
- Pick 10 , Select 10 weapons, attachments, tacticals, lethals and perks. (You could go base aek with 9 perks but no lethals, tactical, FU, etc lol)
I know i'm late but i feel like a cook

I wholeheartedly agree this time…great ideas for perk improvements
14:32 "Generalists" yooo get this man a contract already 👑👑big🧠
This vid is another common XclusiveAce W
Excellent video Ace. I hope treyarch dev/s see this and consider implementing these changes
Another idea that I think would open up perk options would be to make some perks multicolored. For example, maybe combine the effects of scavenger and fast hands into one perk, and in the menu, it shows as both a green and red perk, opening up more perk options while still able to gain the combat specialties.
Gung Ho in AW was the best imo, It kept your gun always up eliminating sprint out times
(does it? For that matter, does the Green Combat Specialty increase the rate/speed of combat axes?)
As for Bruiser, I think that Bruiser's healing impact needs to be studied.
Equip 1 blue perk: leave no death skulls
Equip 2 blue perks: get edge hud indicator
Equip 3 blue perks: get the vision when you spawn.
Equip 1 green perk: see equipment through walls (this one might need to be changed then because there’s already a perk for it
Equip 2 green perks: deploy equipment faster
Equip 3 green perks: earn extra score for objective
Equip 1 red perk: movement speed
Equip 2 red perks: get health recovery on kill
Equip 3 red perks: (we gotta think of something new and good here)
This way it makes it waaaayy more free in choosing 1 perk per color but maybe also if you want 2 of one color and 1 of another. Bigger benefits if you were to commit more to a color, but less downside if you wanna mix and match
Dude I agree so much. This would make the game feel so much more fun!
A “Color Blind” wild card could be interesting. You can change the color of 2 of your 3 perks to a different one. For example you could change Ghost, a blue perk to either red or green.
Going into this video I thought I would have some more notes of my own, but it's like you read my mind. Though, if I were to add a little myself I would say these maybe 5 things:
1) For Dexterity I would say it should also allow for reduced or even eliminated aim down sights penalties while jumping, sliding and diving.
5) Buff Assasing to be like it was in Cold War, that's all I want😭
I really think this game could have one of the best perk systems we've ever seen with the mix of colour and number categories that we see to add a layer of depth.
Great vid. Really hope devs watch it as all spot on.
I certainly like your thoughtful suggestions and hope to see some changes soon. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
tbh gung ho is kinda underrated- if you use a gun with a smaller mag or a fast mag and have enforcer combat specialty active, you can shred through entire teams one by one before they can even react
Bro chocked the nuke with 1 kill to go I know you were sick
i was focusing on that sreak more than the actual vid; it killed me when he threw that nuke
Perk Greed allows you to use any perk 1 and then just fill out your color with the greed slot (so Blue/Red/Red + Red will give you the red bonus)
I've said this since the show case before the beta, speciality bonus perks will limit perks variety and will bent many players hands into using specific perks they don't want to use
On top of that, one if the main reason why some perks are literally useless is because the existence of specialty system, they had to strap down some features of perks to be added to the specialty bonus
Some revamped perk budget system would be a fun change of pace and increase the customization options
Youre ideas are great I hope they listen to at least some of them
Mind you, the supposed faster deploying of field upgrades with the Strategist Specialty doesn't work. The speed is exactly the same as without it.
Being able to pick any perk for any slot would be sweet and the old school pro perks would smash the specialist perks in this game
8:06 okay bro cookin w this one 💯🤙
Shrapnel Radar: Make it like the specialist perk where you can see thru walls. Change it to red perk because now it's more of an offensive push. Would really make tactical grenades better, which might make using the tactical perk greed useful.
wholeheartedly agree with your perk complaints in this. i feel the same way.
The game, the franchise, the future would be in such good hands if they had you as a lead consultant..
Tbh I've been running scav as my perk greed *a lot*. It can be pretty impactful if you play into it and spam equipment
Tip: Shock charge + impact or semtex is really funny. wait behind a corner for the charge to go off and throw the explosive.
This would be good alongside the generalist speciality that Ace was talking about.
omg dexterity having faster mantle would quite possibly make it my favorite perk
I feel like tax mask isn’t getting enough credit here, it combined with guardian, flak jacket and an lmg makes you a titan for holding down objectives
To combine flak jacket with tac mask you have to use perk greed...
@@epicgamerzfail4575yes, most people are doing that anyway
@@danielwoody6582no, currently most people are running ghost + flak jacket or ninja + ghost
Greed Wildcard, all Green Perks, Bankroll or Ghost is the set for me.
You nailed it Ace
Imagine how busted a Specialist wild card (earn extra perks instead of scorestreaks) would be with how they have perks in here in BO6
Why has no dev given the ghost perk system another go. It was such an underrated system that easily solves perk balance
Pick 10 sucks compared to Gunsmith. That’s why.
You’re asking to make CoD worse
@@Vinseenit I’m not sure how well Pick10 would work in this game with the large number of attachment slots relative to previous CoDs. It was peak in BO3 though
What's with the infatuation with the pick 10 system
Yeah. Scavenger playstle is grenade spam, idk what ace was talking about it being bad
