CNG tonight I was using your build in HR and I finally understand the power of ignite against landmine rogues! I'm always bringing a blue crystal sword with me now
I gave Boosteroid a try the other day because my PC couldn’t handle anything, and honestly, it’s a solid option for anyone with a weaker system. I played without any lags or problems-pretty cool experience.
@@cngblade I wonder if they offered you to advertise the service on your channel? I play periodically in D&D and several other single play projects just through this service. In principle, I am satisfied with everything except that I sometimes have very bad internet and it affects the quality of the game
"Wizard isnt a mechanical class" Which class is a mechanical class then? Ranger, warlock? Positioning + Game Sense is important but bunny hopping was the tech that broke open wizard for me. Ive also learned fireball jumping since then. Ive started using crystal ball + spell book so i can choose between left hand cast or right hand cast for corner peaking. Gotta land those hit scans on friend and foe alike... uh i forgot were i was going with this.
Cutthroat does not apply if you use a ranged weapon, only melee attacks. The rogue had rapture and hide probably (I think he used it just before getting hit, but my phone resolution is not good enough to tell for sure).
do you have any advice for getting used to 10 spell? Its my favorite way to play wizard but my brain doesnt have the bandwidth to keep track of all the spells and use the right one each time
Thank you for the wisdom cng, do you have any advice for playing in duos? I noticed that it's abit hard for me to cast a number of my spells when my ally is in front. Also, would haste be a crutch to learning Wizard, I have around 2 - 3 hrs and would like to get better at the game.
I’m super new to wizard (around a week or two now) but I have found so much success in clearing a safe area in the deeper, then having my warlock, fighter or rogue duo kite mobs through a hallway or doorway and find cheese spots to spam mobs- it’s super easy to clear, not hit your teammate, and then you can run in and loot together once mobs are dead. May work for pvp but it needs to be coordinated
Can you do a high ping guide? I'm on 187ms* and I struggle with spacing, It become a challenge when you cant do a tech because you'll get hit anyway, thanks again CNG
it drives me nuts that in these fights the wiz pushes and all his enemies run. In my fights im getting rushed and smacked, its like these players he fights in the video just WANT to eat his spells. they let him have the distance he needs.
Let me explain that simply. It’s all about damage and spacing. You need to damage them and pressure them enough so they can’t push you and at the same time you push them so they can’t run away. My enemy are running away because they can’t find the timing/angle to get on top of me. So spacing and dmg is key ( don’t run )
I assume you're talking about the rogue fight. Rewatch the video without trying to cope and justify yourself as a great player. Any decent wizard wins that engagement any day of the week. He dodged the hand crossbow shot, immediately hit a decent fireball. He knows that if the rogue pushes, there is time for him to either double zap, or magic missile, or literally any other damaging spell. Hell, he could even invis and reposition. All of this is depending on what spell setup he runs at the time. A lot of this game is also "posturing". It's why you see really good bard players on twitch doing insanely well in trios at multiple points of the meta, and fighters. These characters have threat because of their positioning. Fighters can literally "fake it till they make it" in certain scenarios. Remember, enemies don't always know if you're low or not, all they can do is make an educated guess. If you aren't moving as if you're low on health, likely an enemy will run even if they could kill you with one attack in reality. Watch Poshy play. Great cleric, and the people he plays with are basically the best of the best in terms of "posturing" like I was just explaining. Especially the bard he usually plays with, but the name of the player escapes me.
@@micahcreator7014 HAHA , Nah specifically the bard that just ran in a circle before eating spells in fleeing. I'm also running low gear wizard and getting clapped because wiz just sucks at low end. which is where Press W barb and fighter just out trade you with MS or ranged
@@alcopollock alright now let's take it back to a previous point. The game changed based on gear. Wizard is weak early game COMPARATIVELY, but also scales harder than most classes.
Thank you cng. I will attempt to think ahead while fighting. Also i keep trying to use staff instead of book for more damage but not having great succes, do you think its viable in hr?
It's where you fight them. He fought that rogue in a spot where its damn near impossible for that rogue to kill him. Listen for footsteps, and don't think where you are walking. What is your goal if someone comes around the corner in front of you? Hell if you play maps enough, you'll eventually have favorite spots of yours to fight. Magic missile, in this video, would have killed that rogue he fought INSTANTLY. So, even if rogue hit a cut throat proc, there's no way he catches up to him and kills him before magic missile comes online. Also, the game changes as you have better gear. For example, you might be able to run into a rogue that you didn't know was there and react fast enough to escape in a low-gear lobby. But if that rogue is geared? Your run is over brother. Also, an amazing tip for zap that wizards always use against me when I play all-in characters is waiting half a second before actually sending the spell once its done charging. Many good players get into the rhythm of zap, so if you send it as soon as its ready they will duck to the side and then continue running at you. Waiting literally a fraction of a second for them to turn back towards you can let you land a spell, and hopefully deal enough damage to make them rethink running at you.
When they push me I magic missile and stand still to bait the cut throat crossbow. As soon as I get hit I take my book away and run and wait for 2-3 secs then he is on cooldown and gg
I just started playing wizard, i don't have much more than like 2~4 hours on wizard so im still a noob, but my friend and I mainly play low gearscore lobbies w basekit loot. Not too shabby ;3

Cutthroat works With Hand crossbow and throwing knives.
@@tobiaspabst5524 Yeah, you might be right. Is it weakpoint than? I know one rogue ability doesn't work with ranged weapons.
love your videos, but why ignite instead of more dps like ice bolt or explosion?
At high gear you don’t need more dps you need a tool to counter rogues and panthers, ignite does both and help to clear PVE in high roller

It’s all about practice, for yourself to play it. You need to build new neural links in your brain. And that comes with playing and practice
