This is a masterpiece. Five generations of my family have lived in Covina over the past 90 years. My first real job was at Eastland, so I remember all of those shots.

Covina girl here. This was great fun to watch. My uncle was the manager of the May Company at Eastland Mall for years. I loved going there. We ate at Clifton's Cafeteria bunches! I also frequented the Bob's Big Boy on Vincent and In N Out on Arrow Hwy. I loved the pictures of downtown Covina with the Christmas decorations up. I loved those old decorations. :)

Wow..I was feeling homesick. I grew up in Baldwin Park born in 58. I now live on the east coast. My wife is from PA so we live here now. But my heart and influence is still on the west coast. Looking at these pics you posted brought back so many memories. I usta go to the Capri and Easltand stores all the time. We would ride our bikes to the West Covina Fashion Plaza as kids It was a long way. Marty's music store is where we bought all our records from. My older bros bought the First Beatles record there. I went to Bishop Amat High School. I remember my bros went to see The Young Rascals at The Carousel Theater. wow! Growing up in the 60's was a great time! Thx again 4 posting!!!

Great Video! If only time could be that simple again, what a great place this would be.

We moved to West Covina from LA in 1941,then it was the suburbs, when I graduated from West Covins Grammar school in 1945, there were 13 kids in the class, I remember most of these places, a really great time.At the time, Westt Covina had no high school, so we went to Covina high, via bus.

Thanks Gary. Good times for sure. I grew up in West Covina 1965 - 1985. I went to Mesa Elementary and South Hills High School. My high school sweetheart worked at May Co, I visited Lucky's Grocery store (remember the large scale) frequently. Bob's Big Boy and Ernies were family favorites, MC Donald's on Barranca and Rowland (no longer there) was the high school hang out. Thanks for the step back to simpler times....

I'm an East Coast kid, but I vacationed in LA in 1969, and a lot of the same vibe was still there...plus some other vibes.

Thank you for this charming bit of nostalgia. I remember some of these places. I remember some of the '60's but grew up in the '70's in El Monte. I was born in '62 in El Monte and stayed until '86 when I moved away with hubby and kids to Oregon. I remember well the play area in front of JC Penny's at the Valley Mall. Grandma lived in Covina on Valinda St and we went to the Bob's Big Boy many times. My mother may have gone to Covina HS but I think she graduated from Alhambra HS in about '55.
