  • I built this very simple router sled to flatten some white oak slabs I have. The overall length of the rails are 4 ft and the sled is 3 ft. This size will fit most of my needs, from cutting boards to coffee table slabs.
I don't have plans for this build yet, but as soon as I make them I will update this description.
    Tools Used On This Build:
(Using these links help me out and does not affect your price)
    Bosch Router - amzn.to/3inylGB
    Surfacing Bit - amzn.to/38ukeL9
    Milwaukee Drill & Driver - amzn.to/38l5eiI
    Dewalt Jigsaw - amzn.to/3eUKL6V
Divider with Pencil Holder - amzn.to/31FPZiU

I think you should make the bottom of your router sled into a down draft table to keep the dust down

I would like to see your technique for lowering the router.

Subscribed. You did that very well! Timely subject, as I have neither a planer nor jointer, though I do have that exact router
that I'm still studying on how to use. Replaceable inserts are the only way to go. I used to mill aluminum ingots with the same setup, though on a Much larger scale, the average slab weight then was around 44,000 pounds.

How do you remove the hot glue? Do you throw away the shims?
