Ok so here’s the deal, I got the ROG ally proprietary dock twice and both burned out on me. I’ve looked at third party replacements and I’m seeing that there are MANY that suffer the same issue. Is this one of them? Also, can you use this with the power brick included in the Ally’s box and still get 30 watt turbo???

If I understand correctly when using JSAUX, it's cap 1080p 120Hz, cap 4k 60Hz, can turn off the RGB (hold 2 secs), can change RGB color, has a cabinet to hold ROG ally, 2 usba3.2, 1 usbc 3.2,1 usba 2.0, 1 ethernet port, 3.5 audio jack, SD, micro SD, HDMI 2.1, 1.4 Display port.
So i just got this dock about 2 weeks ago now and i have been noticing that the screen resolution on my tv is not very great. I was wondering if you knew how to fix that. Thanks!
Sorry I'm really confused - Why do we need to buy a $25+ 65watt wall charger/brick when the Asus Ally came with (in the box) it's own Wallcharger with the usb power cable attached to it? The thing we charge the Ally with when you unbox it. Can I not plug the OEM charger into this docks usb-c PD port?
@@slothfratelli5546 I imagine they opened the box, took out the ROG Ally and threw out the box before checking the cardboard underneath that holy the power supply and manuals 🤣 I had a friend charging their Nintendo switch with a phone charger for 3 months because they didn't know came with its own wall charger in the box 😑 Was so surprised when I told her and she still had the box lol

With 100w charger and turbo mode on is this something that could handle 120hz on desktop mode and potentially 120hz for a game like League of Legends. Im considering swapping this out for an ancient desktop setup
i have tried using this dock and the standard charger with higround keyboard and arzzopa 16.1 inch monitor 144 hz and the monitor goes black and doesnt stay on and reboots so i purchased a ugreen 100 watt charger and 240 watt ugreen cord and the monitor still has the same issues so i have to plug in a cord to the monitor to the wall so i was wondering should i buy a regular monitor cause everyone else swears by the arzopa portable monitor but ive had no luck with them

That's a fair point. JSAUX is definitely trying to squish as much as they can into a small form factor so hopefully we will see future ones have that capability.
Make sure you use the stock Asus 65w charger that came with the ally. There is currently a bug where using some third party chargers with this dock, even if 100w, result in battery drain when running in full 30w Turbo mode. Jsaux is currently investigating the issue.

I'm really considering this dock because I just ordered the Onexfly which has a 120hz display. Will it make a big difference with having a dock supporting 120hz apposed to 60hz?
Sorry just saw this! I don't think it will, because I had excellent refresh rate results in my testing. In my eyes, it'll handle anything _below_ those refresh rates so 60Hz shouldn't be a problem at all.
The hdmi and display port are not working to me, I keep getting a dark screen on my ally and can’t see anything on the connected monitor, is there a fix for that issue?
Have you experienced battery drainage when playing? I have the same model you had before, but whenever I play something the battery starts to deplete, even when plugged in to a 100W charger. I spoke with JSAUX support and they said I might have a faulty unit, but.. just want to double check
Hmm, I haven't had that problem personally. What kind of wall brick are you using? 100W is more then enough, but I wonder if a brand has trouble with it. I think it's worth replacing through JSAUX. Let me know if they give you any issues!
I have a 100W anker brick. I replaced it through JSAUX and still have the same issue. Quite annoying. I'm still in touch with their support, though. @@freakytechreviews
My biggest issue right now with dock mode. Tried 65w stock ally charger and 100w charger my ally battery still drains like mad. GUESS WHAT no one talks about this issue... Supporting 30w turbo mode is one thing but battery drainage is a bigger issue no one gives a **** about. Once your battery reaches 20% it will start to activate battery saver mode which makes your game almost unplayable. Mind you it only takes 2hrs for me to reach that stage, which isn't ideal at all for desktop gaming. I wrote this because I feel like no one really addressed my frustration I'm having with these docks and chargers and not knowing which is compatible or not. There is literally no dock except the official gaming charger that supports 30w turbo mode without battery drainage for desktop gaming.

I'm sorry to hear that. What part is laggy specifically? Could it be the emulation software causing a slow down on the Ally itself? The dock is really just a pass through for internet, USB, etc., so I feel like the issue would really be the Ally itself and whatever software is being used. Do you have any problems when not emulating?
Anyone else using this dock with the Ally X? I can't get the HDMI to work on any monitor. I'm wondering if this is a Windows 11 issue I'm experiencing but I have troubleshooted to death and can't find a fix :/
Not anymore! When I filmed this video it was necessary, however ASUS seemed to quietly address this through a firmware update and now most 3rd party charging bricks provide 30W Turbo Mode.
@@carloskay for some reason it is not charging my legion when connected but I’m not having any issues with the dock connecting my legion to the monitors
So I believe you don't even need that much charger anymore. Another viewer confirmed recently that due to an update, the Ally will now allow 30w turbo mode for most chargers at 65w I believe.
@@freakytechreviews from what I read lately 65w works for turbo mode unless you have a lot of other things plugged into the station that require power then it will drop well below 65w output for the rog.

Yeah I definitely agree there. The pop out specifically is not beefy at all. They definitely put everything towards the internals and skimped on the outside to keep the price reasonable.

someone needs to design a hand held with a dock that can take a gpu that way the cpu could offload the graphics and boost higher But for that you would need something like Oculink... ally does have a a port for this though its some propriatary garbage and i think they only like have a overly powerful pripriatary epgu for it or something.... like a mobile 4090 is not a good match if you ask me.... you want something a bit cheaper and more reasonable....
nice but I think after watching this... A laptop itself is just superior if you want a mobile pc. less things to plug in and I am not sure if people will play it as a handheld often. I dont know of its heating also. Risky gen 1 deal to me.
Sorry just saw this! Their docks only come with the USB-C cable that plugs into your handheld, which is why I had to use the Ally's own charging cable paired with a 65w charging block. I find it unfortunate that they don't come with their own cables.

I had issues with it as well. I ended up getting a 100 watt charger and a 100 watt USB-C cable and it finally worked.
Do you think it will also run well for macbook usb hub? It has great value for ports and Display port provided.

The brick powers the dock which in turn powers the ally, I'm guessing.
I bought the jsaux hb1201. Everything seems to work great. Except.... It's not charging while docked.....
Hmm, I'm sorry to hear that. What wattage of charging block are you using, and do you have the latest update on the Ally?

Does this dock’s usb port work for controllers? I’ve read a lot of the docks don’t work with controllers for some reason.
It has for me, as when I was using an Xbox controller it had no issues being plugged in and working! Also used a PS5 Dualsense and it worked great.

It's normal... on the lenovo go you can go into the bios and change charging speed. I don't know if this helps with the RA

Yes you can! There's not a ton of ports, but I've connected both and it works flawlessly.

No ROG Ally docks seem to support VRR, freesync or gsync.

A great option is iVanky docking station. It does 30W turbo mode, and have great support.
For some reason it won’t show my monitor when I plug in the hdmi cord with this dock about to send it back to Amazon

someone needs to design a hand held with a dock that can take a gpu that way the cpu could offload the graphics and boost higher
But for that you would need something like Oculink... ally does have a a port for this though its some propriatary garbage and i think they only like have a overly powerful pripriatary epgu for it or something.... like a mobile 4090 is not a good match if you ask me.... you want something a bit cheaper and more reasonable....

nice but I think after watching this... A laptop itself is just superior if you want a mobile pc. less things to plug in and I am not sure if people will play it as a handheld often. I dont know of its heating also. Risky gen 1 deal to me.
I bought one but i cant figure out how to turn it on it didnt come with a power cable just a standard usb-c cable
Sorry just saw this! Their docks only come with the USB-C cable that plugs into your handheld, which is why I had to use the Ally's own charging cable paired with a 65w charging block. I find it unfortunate that they don't come with their own cables.
