Nice of you to do this. You made me realize the reason I wasn't getting the 30w mode in my dock because I wasn't using an 100w charger. But at this point, one should just get/build a PC.
I tried playing hogwarts legacy & the witcher 3 at 720p 60 on my 55" 4K QLED TCL TV, it has game master but wouldn't recognise the ally as a game console or PC, decided to fiddle with some settings and came across amd adrenaline software, used radeon super resolution RSR instead of RIS and freesync always on as well as override game graphics settings and now looks and runs pretty decent on my TV, was getting bad frame rate and screen tearing on default. Also my TV has freesync premium.
You too? This is indeed a great desktop PC alternative! It's portable and unnecessarily powerful for basic and office work! That's what makes it ao dope. A capable device depending on the need with the aspect of being a handheld. It's just such a great device as a sole pc as a jack of all trades type of use case. Sure a proper gaming laptop and gaming pc is great and all, but the laptop is just unneeded with that basic keyboard (rather use a custom keyboard let's be honest) and a desktop pc will suck an entire village worth of electricity that it's not economically very viable for a average person.
I have a smaller tv with a 120hz refresh rate, would this set up work well with that? Im looking to pull the trigger on a rog ally but looking at what all I'd need
I went with Ivanky dock, Logitech K400+ wireless keyboard with trackpad. Gonna connect a Logitech mouse I already had if I need extra mouse precision. My goal was a living room build. 😊 I prefer using controller so not so bothered about the mouse hence the keyboard's built in trackpad.
This is pretty much the dream set up I'd want to do with a ROG Ally. Do you think its powerful enough to capture screen recordings with OBS, and light video editing (such as cuts and trims) with Da Vinci Resolve? Hope you can share some info!
Doesn't the ally only output 60hz refresh when docked? I'm still new to all this stuff so I could be mistaken but if that is the case wouldn't a high refresh monitor pointless
I don't necessarily know how all of this work but I have currently a Steam Deck LCD and have Windows 10 on it By connecting a 144hz monitor I can go up to 120hz with a Anker HUB and with a Dock it lets me choose 144hz - all HDMI
So I am having a bit of an issue on my end, is there a setting I need to change somewhere? I bought the items from this video but Im still having issues with the ROG Ally losing performance when docked
Are you using the original charger? You might not be getting enough power to your device/dock. If you’re using the ugreen one, make sure the USBC cable is plugged into the top port and try removing everything else from it and see if that helps.
Why do you sound so depressed in this video bro? Sounds like your wife's boyfriend took away your ally and grounded you. Glad to see you back looking forward to the streams again 🙏🏽
Its like a mini pc with a built in screen and controller ❤
Thanks for watching! Sorry for the loud music, I’m half deaf 👂
can you please build me a pc
Thanks for the video!😊
Hi half deaf, I’m Dominik.
Thanks bro, can you please teach me how to stretch full screen on a monitor, currently it displays half screen only

I have some issues with font quality in edge and chrome browser… do u have the same issue with rog ally with monitor??

Yeah that’d work well!
He's back! Looking forward to the next stream 😊
Cheers mate maybe I’ll do one this week! I’m actually in Japan right now but heading back tomorrow!
How is your mouse not lagging when you connect it to the monitor
Uhh it just isn’t? You might need to check your refresh rate or make sure your dock is getting enough powered
I have same issue

Yes! It can definitely do both of that, although I think it might struggle a little bit with recording larger files. Might need to tweak the settings.
@@JasonWitmerYT thanks for the reply! Valuable info for me!

That’s strange, should be fine. Make sure your resolution is 1080p

Going strong 💪
can you charge the rog ally and game at the same time with the monitor or is it not possible ?
Yep, everything all plugged in should work!
Not all will charge at a watt that will unlock the 30w turbo mode
You can use headphones with the rog ally jack using a dock?
Absolutely!
@@JasonWitmerYT thank you!
