@128KB - an additional plus to mention is that capping the frame rate lower (in respect to device refresh rate) not only keeps it within the VRR range with FG enabled, it also manages lower thermals as FG itself doesn't incur the same processing power as raw frames. This was especially evident to me when using Lossless Scaling with more intense games on my gaming laptop. My thermals were already looking good long before I introduced Lossless Scaling to the mix but I've noticed a significant decrease when using FG to target 120 or 144 frames per second. The laptop now register lower temperatures consistent with the lower frame lock and I can only imagine how beneficial this will be for PC gaming handhelds going forward.
Here is a tip if you find the speakers aren't loud enough. Don't use Dolby Access custom sound profiles for game, movie, music etc. Use your own custom equaliser in Dolby Access you are able to save 3 different personal equaliser settings. There is also a sound virtualiser setting for a wider soundscape. This produces a much louder sound with more bass if you require it.
You still need to use Vsync when you are playing with VRR. The only thing VRR does is allow the refresh rate to match your current framerate so that you don't experience the judder and stutter associated with a sudden frame drop or spike. You can still tear frames if you don't have Vsync enabled, even with VRR, although it is lessened.
Great video, but it would have been nice if he went into why you would use that software instead of the built in frame limiter instead of just "trust me bro".
Just curious. Why the hassle of doing all these settings to lower the frame rate and so since the device it self cost this much it should able to handle all this issue address and I believe it should know it’s own limits they they have set for this device. After all in case anything happens just send in for warranty. That’s for me. 😅. But it’s a good sharing and thanks for the video after all

Bricking honestly not a real thing. It's to make money for someone who has the knowledge. Most computer ppl got copied windows. And every thing else can be found online. Water damage is the true brick. Or if u get so hot where u kill your internals.
for my second handheld, I already have the switch oled, I'm trying to decide between getting the SD old and ROG Ally X, im totally okay with fiddling with settings and stuff. Any advice?
x because you're not limited to games cause windows but regardless steamOS will be available for the X if you prefer it it would be like a steam deck but minus the trackpad
any update on which pc handheld you went for? it all depends on your gaming needs. Deck -for indies and most AAA single player games. also not worried on restriction playing online. very decent price. Ally X - play most AAA games of single and online games with no restriction, indies etc. downside is it’s quite pricey but well worth it.
Is there a way to force all games to launch in full screen automatically? I'm having trouble with launcher-based games starting in windowed mode, and only going full screen when I click their taskbar icon.
Folks, leave Vsync on. Paired with Freesync(VRR) and even Gsync it makes the game look more smooth and stablizes fps. The latency issue is far and few and unless you’re some pro Csgo or Valorent player lol I doubt you’ll even notice it. Even than in that scenario response time is far more important than latency. Idk where this idea that Vsync is bad came from lol. It helps out with stabilizing frames and actually making the game better and not utilize more frames than necessary, yes vrr does something similar but both in tandem help keep your frames in check
No, Vsync activates if your game exceeds the refresh rate of your monitor. Since we're already limiting the frames below the Ally's screen max refresh rate, there's no need to enable Vsync anymore.
Tip 1 send it back many times cus of bad qc im on my second one and this got a wobbly left trigger first one and a loose left button lets see if the 3rd one works
Bazzite still had issues with fan control, mine ramped up way too high, temps also went to 80 degrees C plus too easily. Also more stuttering in Hogwarts Legacy compared to Windows. I went back, windows is better as it stands. Waiting for Valve to release a official version of Steam OS.

Just use fxsound for PC
You can get louder profiles easily

*trust me bro* ;)
Do you have any video where you show your warzone config for best fps? Thanks!
Use CRU to lower the minimum fps for VRR to work. By default it only goes down to 48 fps but I like playing at 40 fps so I set it to 30.
What is the difference between doing that and LFC?
Any idea on how to bring the VRR range down to 40hz?

Thanks man
Why can't use the built-in FPS limiter? You never explain why to use a proprietary software
Good call with that arzopa monitor I purchased it and set it up at work it's pretty damn good and cheap lol

How can I game on my LG oled at 4k 120Hz? Can I do that with a dock?
Yes u can past self. Lol
Andy could you share the link to the portable monitor which you were using in the video ? Really appreciate that

Cause accidentally bricking your SSD can render it useless from day 1.

I’m having stuttering on rd2 re4 remake and silent hill remake i tried 8gb ram and i’m on turbo mood please help
google the games "best settings Ally x" Asus have guides on a lot of them, as do many others. Had a quick look and can see guides for RDR2 and RE.
followed all these guides and still getting 24 fps in monster hunter world :(
Lossless scailing = more input lag
Couldn't stand the ghosting in Lossless scaling Frame gen , 😖
Provide a source and proof encryption shortens SSD life ..
According to Crucial it shortens the write lifespan because of constant writing and erasing data. Just Google sd lifespan encryption
Who cares..
