I had been signed by Facebook Gaming for 2 years as a Partner. Level up is like RUclips Monetization Partner (Add Revenue, Tips(Stars)). But they don't run many ads. And their views are not real. FB counts 3-second auto-plays in the newsfeed as a view. The average watch time is 33 seconds (Ex: RUclips avg watch time is 6min to 15min). Most of the income is from Stars (But stars are not equal 1 to 1). Facebook Partner program pays the streamer a salary to stream. A VERY low salary. Facebook's Partner program is too exclusive and the gamer is not allowed to have sponsors. And if Facebook catches you with a sponsor they shut you down by shadow blocking you. Also, there is NO communication between Facebook Gaming and the Streamer. No Support. In my opinion, FB gaming is death to a streamer's career. I just started streaming on mixer, I’m not really mad about me losing the platform, but my friends have made successful streams on mixer and now they have to start over. The tweet just pissed me off, no apologies, they made it seem like it’s supposed to be a good thing. People are mad at ninja and shroud, but they didn’t do anything wrong, they couldn’t spill the beans or they would be sued by Microsoft, and they’d have a tarnished record for other platforms, no business would want someone who violated an NDA in their company.
so ig my question now is...ive been on the affiliate grind on twitch...does this maybe change where I should continue streaming? if even more people come to twitch, that could make it even harder to get discovered...is this the time to move? or nah?
Hi harris i was looking for a battery dummy for this camera canon eos rebel sl2 ef-s i ordered one from a company that had bad reviews found out after i ordered and don't think im gonna see it hope you have an answer to my problem
Hi Harris. Facebook Streamer here. One way that FB differs is that they kinda have 3 levels for streamers. Level Up (1st tier) gets access to Stars (twitch bits) but no Subscriptions like a Twitch Affiliate would. This could be a downfall for many considering the FB platform. Supporters (2nd tier) was recently invite only but they have expanded that program this past week. Their metric for this is 250 Weekly Returning Viewers. U can see this on a recent tweet from them. Partner (3rd tier) is last for those at the highest level similar to all the other Partner programs. You are right about FB. It's different seeing personal names instead of custom usernames. Some may be uncomfortable with that. Also they lack features like custom commands and nightbot support, both things many streamers utilize. As a streamer for over 2 years, I swapped to FB about 5 months ago. It was a big learning curve but can be good for some.
I was on Mixer 2 months ago and started to see a decline, luckily I jumped ship to Twitch. As soon as the 0.2 growth chart was released I knew the end was near!
I went to Facebook to do my streaming cause I have met a lot of other streamers that gave me advice and helped me build my setup. I have a RUclips as well and was streaming from my ps4 before I got my pc. I’m currently doing like you said many times before. I’m starting to making RUclips content and I am streaming when I’m off work as much as possible. Mainly 2 days a week but sometimes I can manage 3. I appreciate everything you have taught me in the time I have been subbed. The information is amazing and if it wasn’t for you I would’ve made a lot of poor choices. Thank you.
It really is a shame to see Mixer go down like this. Mixer had its problems - a WHOLE LOT of them - but the past 24 hours for the platform basically ended it in a glorious trainwreck. I genuinely loved streaming there. It made me fall in love with live streaming again, and I'll forever owe the community I've met there a debt because of that. Alas, all things must come to an end, and we must move on... interesting to see where the major content creators go from here.
i was using mixer for the live streams of my podcast so i feel I'll be moving that over to my FB as i felt that the FB page for the podcast needed more unique content for the audience
Oh... I was just watching your video the other day about what all the platforms meant and Mixer’s downfall of viewers. Here we are! WOW! Always ahead of the game Harris!
you can stream to twitch direct from your xbox one by downloading the twitch app from the microsoft store , it's almost identical layout and appears to work better than mixer
Firstly: "don't pick the platform because you don't like the bad stuff that's happening there" is SO applicable right now with all the crap happening over with Twitch. Secondly: would you give a brief synopsis of each platforms strengths and why one might choose one over the other for their brand, or is there a good video on that?
I was tiny on mixer so im not mad. Sure I have to rebuild from scratch on twitch now. But I do feel bad for so many of my friends that lost their income now. And don't know what to do anymore. Yesterday was heartbreaking to see them all in tears saying goodbye. We kinda knew mixer was going down but the way it went was unfair to them. Some of them bin partner since it was still Beam and they wanted to have faith. Now its all gone. For us mixer was our home and now we are forced to move elsewhere. I wish them all the best and hope to see them back in the future
I was ironically in a twitch stream when this went down. The streamer took a bathroom break and checked their phone. Came back and was like "Uh guys, on twitter Mixer says it's shutting down" and we were all pretty surprised Anywho, I've pretty darn active on facebook, and I've pretty much never seen a decently sized stream in there

Looks like I'm early enough to be some of the early comments. I think RUclips is the only thing that can really compete with Twitch. I agree that Facebook Gaming is kind of hokey and isn't taken very seriously.
Facebook has so many issues when it comes to streaming. For the streamer the platform got really better... BUT, the interaction with the viewer is awful as hell. Not only that, their gamer program (I don't remember the name) basically eats your soul entirely. Don't you even dare to let copyright music be heard in stream for more than 2 seconds or you will take a really big hit. Also, as a viewer, you can't really get into streams, their video/gaming tab is awful, it's just awful. It's not intuitive or simple as Twitch's or even Mixer. And the most important thing is that Facebook gaming requieres you to have Facebook, no one wants to be in facebook, that's why you have Mixer or Twitch, let's you have more control about the social media aspect, but facebook is just awful. asd to see mixer go, i discovered a whilke ago and really liked it overall.
I've noticed people streaming on Facebook Gaming has been increasing, but to think Mixer would be gone... Honestly, think people will switch to Twitch and a couple of partners to FB Gaming?

hey man i was thinking of starting to stream soon and i was wondering what steps i should take or what should i do to first start out
I must ask is your no copy right music playlist safe to use on facebook?
We all knew this was coming. It was a matter of when, not if.
As a streamer on Facebook for a good amount of time, I have to say that, Facebook needs to change the way they treats the streamers. You are just a number, and erveryone who has the contract canceled, goes back to Twitch or RUclips Gaming (sorry for any grammar mistake, I'm from Brazil)
I just started streaming on mixer, I’m not really mad about me losing the platform, but my friends have made successful streams on mixer and now they have to start over. The tweet just pissed me off, no apologies, they made it seem like it’s supposed to be a good thing.
People are mad at ninja and shroud, but they didn’t do anything wrong, they couldn’t spill the beans or they would be sued by Microsoft, and they’d have a tarnished record for other platforms, no business would want someone who violated an NDA in their company.
so ig my question now is...ive been on the affiliate grind on twitch...does this maybe change where I should continue streaming? if even more people come to twitch, that could make it even harder to get discovered...is this the time to move? or nah?
Time for us on Mixer to full send it on Twitch. See you all there.
Microsoft have a history of of this, buying business (or running other) and some how running them down. Zune, Nokia, Windows phone. And now Mixer.
I really want to know why he has an extra .5 subscriber on the widget below the camera when he goes full cam after 9 or so minutes
I really wanted to make my stream work on Mixer, and im torn about twitch.... Hmm what to do now.
As a Mixer Streamer, I have no idea where to go. Could you PLEASE make another in depth video of where to stream next? Thank you, much love, ❤️
You should probably go to Twitch. Nice montage btw
I'm subbed to u and follow you on Mixer. Go to Twitch plz!
Hi harris i was looking for a battery dummy for this camera canon eos rebel sl2 ef-s i ordered one from a company that had bad reviews found out after i ordered and don't think im gonna see it hope you have an answer to my problem
I was waiting for you to post this after I heard the news 😂😂👌
If I were to create a brand new Facebook account because I don't use Facebook. How fast do you think I will grow.
Do you think you"ll make a video of which one us Mixer streamers should move too with pros and cons?
your mic is SO GOOD i just wanna keep listening to you speak
¿Where can I start streaming?
You tube, Facebook or twitch.
bro o dont know in what plataform stream now, what you think?
Patiently waiting on the Mixer coffin dance videos ⚰️ 😂
You are a big influence to me man I started streaming because of you I love watching you twitch tips
'I don't think youtube will shut down youtube gaming anytime soon'
Wait didn't they all ready do that??
been waiting for this video all day, just got off work to find it ready for me
Do people use Facebook like they used to though? I haven't had an account for years.
Thank you.
What camera do you use?
is the app gonna change on xbox?
I guess you have to update the platform comparison video 😂
I started off with Facebook Gaming but i also have Twitch & RUclips, maybe I should make a switch?
I just left facebook level up... so should i go back?
Oh... I was just watching your video the other day about what all the platforms meant and Mixer’s downfall of viewers. Here we are! WOW! Always ahead of the game Harris!
you can stream to twitch direct from your xbox one by downloading the twitch app from the microsoft store , it's almost identical layout and appears to work better than mixer
so should i start streaming on youtube
Firstly: "don't pick the platform because you don't like the bad stuff that's happening there" is SO applicable right now with all the crap happening over with Twitch.
Secondly: would you give a brief synopsis of each platforms strengths and why one might choose one over the other for their brand, or is there a good video on that?
I don't remember the title but there is a video like that. I want to say it's like facebook gaming vs mixer vs youtube or something like that
TheGreenYeti he did a video not too long ago on that
Here's the link to his video talking about the different platforms

Came back and was like "Uh guys, on twitter Mixer says it's shutting down" and we were all pretty surprised
Anywho, I've pretty darn active on facebook, and I've pretty much never seen a decently sized stream in there
yeah I do a lot of sim racing broadcast....and there is others on facebook gaming...just look up iracing.com and you will see they bring in hunderds of people some in the thousands watching...
Looks like I'm early enough to be some of the early comments. I think RUclips is the only thing that can really compete with Twitch. I agree that Facebook Gaming is kind of hokey and isn't taken very seriously.
What? MS failed to invest and build a consumer based audience? Who woulda thunk it.
Agree with all this
Predictable, same was with Windows Games Live service and tons of other projects. Was a question of "when" not "if".
I've noticed people streaming on Facebook Gaming has been increasing, but to think Mixer would be gone...
Honestly, think people will switch to Twitch and a couple of partners to FB Gaming?
Wow you are so fast you make video in just an hour after ninja and shroud news wow i am impressed 😙
Love from Pakistan 💚💙
Sooner than most of us thought but like you said, it was due to happen!
Mixer will be remembered as Microsoft's Zune of Streaming.
You always tell me what i need to hear lol Thank you
I've lost my mixer now it was going in a good direction then they had to ruin it now I'm forced to join twitch this I didnt want to join twitch beacuse I thought it would be harder to grow
quick question unrelated to the vid. its about being a beginner on twitch. should i have my twitch name in my user on games? or is that a dick move?
How to delete a mixer account?
Seriously. There is no option to delete
