    Another great history lesson N50%, You took the words right out of my mouth halfway through, "unbelievable" the changes made from then to now.!!!

      Thank you. Yes they say at the time, it’s called progress, but years later you realise that actually it wasn’t .

    I well remember the staff closing the moveable platforms in time for the train. I believe that they were primarily needed in order to extend the platforms for long trains and read somewhere that they are unique.

      Thanks for your comments. Yes think they were. Although there was somewhere with a platform near a junction where the platform end was moveable to allow trains on the curved route to enter the platform. Not sure where though.
