- Unlike the transformation that his character underwent in the film plot, this is the actual transformation of Robin Williams by makeup artist Ve Neil. As you can see, it is a lot more complicated than the one-piece mask prop used by his character in the movie. I do not own any of the footage used in this video.
We are more often focusing on his talent on screen, but you can see here, Robin Williams' professional attitude. A 3 minute scene on the big screen, took him hours to sit so still - guess he was gathering his comedic energy then.... Robin... I cried... You are one in the entire universe!
I miss his presence here on Earth :( she did a phenomenal job on this. True artistry.

KarinMozina Ve Neil won 2 Academy Awards for Mrs. Doubtfire & Ed Wood, she also won 2 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Makeup for Pee-wee's Playhouse and Outstanding Makeup for a Miniseries or a Special for The Shining, the 1990s version.
Its hard to believe such an amazing actor is dead, my family loved his movies, and this is one of our favourites.

It's so awesome to see this....had no idea there was to be a Mrs. Doubtfire 2. Sad that he's gone. Robin was the best and he was here in Minnesota at our rehab facility a few weeks before he died.

I have just heard that Mrs Doubtfire has died, and the wonderful talented person that was so much part of her. Dear Mrs Doubtfire, I hope that where ever you may now be, lets hope that you have found peace .

I read that Robin was in the makeup chair for 4 1/2 hours. The transformation is amazing.

Great to see the work involved; I loved the film and nearly fell off my chair when I realised that Mrs Doubtfire was wearing a brooch which we sell in our shop. Must brush up my product-placement skills.

Having to wear that for like 10 hours a day? They said when they first started doing this, it took them about 4 hours to get the whole face mask on but by the end of the filming, it only took them about 3 hours to get it on. It took about 45 minutes to get it all off. Robin had to go through this every time he had to play Mrs. Doubtfire. It wasn't easy wearing all that and working that long everyday. But part of being an actor requires you to put up with long hours and uncomfortable wardrobe & makeup. It just goes to prove that Robin Williams was a great actor and this was one of his BEST roles.
I'm sure the tried to knock out all the Mrs doubtfire scenes at once . They didn't actually film the movie in the order that we saw it
@@himus1 No, they didn't. In fact, the scene where Miranda and the kids first meet Mrs. Doubtfire was not the first scene they shot with Mrs. Doubtfire in it. In the commentary, they said they were well into the Mrs. Doubtfire makeup by then because in that scene, the makeup had to be flawless.

***** Not all people with depression commit suicide. Actors and celebs usually don't get help because they are afraid of what their fans or their haters might think. But it is a struggle that most people don't realize. You are right about that.

+Ali Rose Please do not misunderstand the process of therapy. I was diagnosed with clinical depression and general anxiety disorder. Trust me ... Sometimes the brightest therapist cannot fix or change someone. It's so hard to find the right therapist; it is almost an endeavor, a journey. Medicine is also complicated too because certain meds might work for some while it doesn't for others.

Please do not assume that you understand the situation and the circumstance unless you have it yourself. That is one of the many frustrating things about society today. Depressed people feel incredibly lifeless, soulless, and hopeless. It is a feeling that no one except depressed people will understand. I would not even wish the feeling upon my worst enemy. However, I am not implying that therapy does not help. Therapy does help if the individual seeks out their appropriate therapist; not all therapists are compatible with everyone. However, in the eyes and perspective of depressed people, finding an incompatible therapist is like a dagger inflicted upon their hearts. In the eyes of someone who already views the world to be the pit of hell, incompatible therapists only enlarge their wound and diminish hope. It is sometimes even too hard for them to begin the day. That is why many depressed people do not seek therapy. Many of them have already lost hope. Other people say that they should "just find a therapist and get rid of all negative thoughts." It is just not that simple that you have implied in your comment. From someone who has clinical depression, it is so difficult to attain hope to even find a therapist. I have been through 4 therapists, and not one was compatible. However, that does not mean depressed people should not seek therapy; it is just extremely difficult.
***** Yes, indeed, sometimes that does happen. My response was based on people who have depression to the point that they are suicidal, such as Robin Williams. When people start to have suicidal thoughts and act upon their thoughts, they clearly have depression. In society, many people disregard depression and feel as if depressed people should just stay optimistic. Some even feel depressed people are being overly dramatic and are exasperated with them. I am just trying to say that depression does not work that way and people need sympathize for depressed people more. Their journey is more rough and difficult than what society deems it to be.
