for the water supply that comes with the vault make sure you keep it defended. I built concrete walls all around it so you can't see it at all. if it gets damaged when your settlement is attacked you cannot repair it ever

No worries lol yeah I had that problem and had to go back a few hours to fix it. I only play it on survival and it did my head in, I lost loads of legendary items and had to redo around 13 quests. They really did not think everything through with this dlc. I literally coated the thing in concrete and left loads of turrets there. Cool tips though, finally getting round to building my vault. Do you have videos on making the vault?

I wish there was a option to reset a settlement. Like storing everything you but down and restoring everything, even the dirt that was on the ground. Mostly because I went a little crazy with the scrap everything mod.

    For any 2020 players,
    I know a wire glitch
build one pylon and wire it to the source of power,
Line up your crosshair so it's aiming at both the pylon and the wire, attach the wire to them both, If you do it right it will let the wire go as far as you can build in the settlement and it will phase through any obstacles.
All you have to do is connect the new wire to anything that can be connected to
(If the wire is connected right, it won't act normal and there will be sparks on the floor)

I chose to not even open the other areas up. After other play thru's I learned that opening the areas up also opens other enemy spawn points. When attacked, if you do not clear all of the tunnels or areas you will fail to defend and assets/resources will be taken. You literally have to run the entire map to clear all of the areas. Also, settlers are not scripted or map meshed to walk all thru the tunnels to the other areas at all. This DLC was not well thought out at all. I built just enough water and power in the main area to take care of 22 settlers and I want no more than that. Happiness becomes too hard to manage when a lot of settlers are involved and Im not the babysitting type. One can build a very spacious vault in the main area and still have all of the food, water and power one would need as well as living quarters and recreation areas.

    • @MischuffGaming
      @MischuffGaming  7 лет назад +16

+Victor Cunningham I have heard a lot of the same complaints about this area. The idea behind it was great but not carried out to the best it could have been. Too many enemy spawn points, settlers not being able to roam around and the difficulty to build in tunnels to connect two areas really limits this vault area. I agree your best bet is to just use the first main room. Plenty of space there to build a decent vault.

If you want access to workshop stored items in far-flung areas of Vault 88 for assembly line or other purposes, just build any sort of crafting station; those always have the option to transfer goods.
This is handy when exploring Vault 88, because otherwise you need to go back to the main area to dump all the stuff you pick up. This way you can even stash, say, a legendary weapon, and pick it up from the main workstation or any other crafting station.

You can use any of the crafting stations (armor, weapon, cooking station etc) to access the settlement storage, like you would do using the workshop. If you want to access the materials needed for crafting, you don't even need to access the storage screen - the crafting stations have direct access to all the settlement storage. Why would you need to enter the workshop's storage screen?

One of the problems is that most of the lights in this game aren't very bright. For the spacious areas in this vault, that could be a problem. That's why I always use ceilings with built-in lights whenever I can. Some of them are pretty bright too, and can light up 2 stories if you are having high ceilings.

Whenever I'd come across an enemy I knew I couldn't kill like the Mirelurk Queen I'd throw the turrets down and let them kill them for me. the worst thing about this dlc is that you cannot link all the areas together with vault stuff because of the absolutely awful layout. obviously you can end your vault with a door and use other materials wood floors and stuff but the whole point of a vault is it's completely sealed. going down to the water area you should have a long corridor that connects the areas together but you can't which is stupid as if you want to get there you have to leave the vault. the caves from one area to another leave your vault dwellers vulnerable travelling from area to area as they have to leave a section of vault to get to another section. the main area and a tiny bit to the left is pretty much all you get. it's as if no one who made the dlc tested it before releasing it

It had loads of potential. I remember clearing everything for the first time and thinking of all the cool things I was going to make with it, started building and then I found out you are very limited with what you can actually do. It's as if they want you to make loads of mini vaults rather than a vault. You can make vault 88 vault 88.1 vault 88.2 etc. Just thought.... Make three separate vaults, stick some arena corners down and have each mini vault fight each other lol what other fallout videos do you have? I'm currently trying to get through nuka world or would go have a look now but if you have more like that I'll check some out after

+Dale Docker I have a bunch of settlement builds, some nuka world gameplay, and some general tips/tricks videos. Fallout is one of the two main games I cover on my channel. Destiny is the other game.

Ah sweet I'll go check them out after I'm done with this. Going around the vault tec bit in the galactic zone and it looks better than what I've been able to make lol. But yeah I'll join your channel when I'm done, always after settlement tips. I have two videos that may give you some tips. I dont make videos but I did two for another settlement builder, one is how to make the terminal in the power misc tab look like it's sitting on a desk so you actually have a computer on a computer table and another is how to make the three junk walls we have, have different textures so we dont have to use the same one over and over, I have red junk fences, metal ones, sheet metal ones etc

way to store to workbench while far. build a container... put your shit you want to go to storage in it... go to build mode... STORE it.... and it and it's contents will go to workbench. rebuild same kind of container next time needed and it wont cost anything cause you stored it.

Bro the scrap-able walls are a feature you have to discover to do the mission. Taking a free space like a bingo game and including it in your video is a waste of time. Nobody learned from it.
