I think you're right. IMHO, the sentiment also applies to a number of other bands. However, much as contemporary music as performed by various teenage "pop stars" receives significant and often valid criticism, there are up and coming musicians out there. They can play their instruments. Give them a few years and, no, they won't be like the Stones, but hopefully they'll be as impressive in a related (or completely different) style, and valued just as much by younger generations.
There will never be another band like them. The current generation has no idea what they missed. My generation was lucky. It was a golden age for music.
Multiple generations- My dad is an original- I was born in 1970, so am second gen- my Nephew, born in 1992- (third gen) is raising his daughter on the Stones among others.
This is what music sounds like when you and your band mates have played together for over a half of a century. It sounds effortless, and that level of trust only comes, from family. The Stones have shared their entire lives with us. I for one, have enjoyed the ride.
Someday they will all be gone and this video will be a sweet reminder of how special they all really were..............together............as a band of brothers.......greater than the sum of the parts.

Maybe they're not technically the "best" musicians, but for unreal longevity, and the unrelenting desire to keep creating and performing for longer than I've been alive... The sheer "Rock & Roll" spirit of that... Well - No one else comes close.

I’m 20 years old and saw them live for the first time about 2 years ago for my birthday. My parents and I bought general admission tickets, got to our seats and by pure luck, the security guard upgraded our seats. Was extremely fortunate enough to have seen Charlie’s singer front row and also be right in front of Keith. I’ll never forget it. Greatest rock and roll band ever, and the greatest band ever (along with the Beatles, the who, and Zep) always!

come on...it was a wee bit sloppy and keiths guitar was way out of balance sonically. Bass was silent in the mix. The sound guys had a lot more hours of work to do before show time.
Good grief wash your ears out. Jagger sang like a stuck cat, playing zero capability on keyboards. Charlie sat down & randomly hit a few drums whilst Keef plucked a few chords. It sounded crap. But because it's the Stones it's amazing drool drool. There's loads of bands on RUclips who play superbly & way better than these geriatrics. One down 3 ready to go.

I was very fortunate to see the Steel Wheels tour in San Diego. That was the most awesome show ever! I happened to make my way down to the front when Mick Jagger was lifted overhead in a bucket crane, and lowered in various points over our packed stadium of 50k people... It was incredible!!!

I work on their tour in 88…they played Ruby Tuesday for me and my Girlfriend to dance to during the sound check..it was me her dancing in an empty arena..will never forget that prom dance..and got real lucky too

It's about the music. In the beginning there's nothing else. There's no money, no fans, no business people, no lawyer...just music, but some bands get all of that and then some, but at the end of the day, it still just goes back to the music,. This video proves that. These are world famous multi-millionaires, and they heard Mick playing and they just joined in. This was beautiful.

lol....I've never seen them when they were on time...1980 Oakland 'Some Girls'...2+ hours late. Santana put on an excellent show. I believe something went bad with sound system because the Stones weren't bad at all, but they sounded like crap, if that makes any sense.
I really like these "inside looks" when bands are just rehearsing somewhere or otherwise musically messing around, especially in the studio. Sometimes you get a glimpse of the creative process, as well as being able to get a feel for each player's personality. And seeing just how each individual interacts with others in a very casual setting. RIP Charlie Watts - You were among the steadiest drummers out there and served as the band's backbone....

I really like these "inside looks" when bands are just rehearsing somewhere or otherwise musically messing around, especially in the studio. Sometimes you get a glimpse of the creative process, as well as being able to get a feel for each player's personality. And seeing just how each individual interacts with others in a very casual setting. RIP Charlie Watts - You were among the steadiest drummers out there and served as the band's backbone....
