Hidden sugars in our food is the WORST! I hope this video helps shed light onto all the sneaky sugar in common foods that you might not have noticed before. Share if I missed any other annoying products as well!
I just found you this week! And God am I happy I did. Your videos are soo informative and science based. I have subscribed and I am reminding myself to "like" every single video I watch!
Finally, the information explained without the jabbering on about things that don't pertain to the video, or long drawn out explanations. Just short, to the point with the ability to research more if needed. Thank you Lacey.
Hi Lacey-Thank you for sharing such valuable information. Additional thanks for showing food alternatives instead of us having to walk up and down the grocery aisles for hours trying to find them ourselves. Keep staying strong-you are AMAZING! OOO
We have to cut down on processed food but you need A LOT of time to prep and cook! Unfortunately many of us are sick and home cooking is exhausting for every meal. I just try to use my food processor to make peanut butter if I can. I'm going to try to make almond butter soon.
It's frustrating how difficult it is to find the FULL FAT plain Greek yogurt (with no sugar added) in small containers. My store only has massive containers of the stuff. Which I end up wasting half of each time... 🥺
can you come up with a alternative home made food to get rid of the process stuff? like the granola? I make my own sauce and apple sauce with out added sugar and I never eat or drink fake drinks. Thank you T
Lacey says to make your own ketchup. I say the same concerning tomato sauce. It's so easy to make one. Follow a Marcella Hazan simple 3 ingredient recipe or you can make a very flavorful one with very few ingredients. It's not hard and the left over sauce can be portioned & frozen. I never buy premade sauce.
6:45 there are actually recipes online for unsweetened “Gatorade” that replenishes the electrolytes you lose during an intense workout. Some hardcore athletes even drink pickle juice to replace the salt they lose from sweating. Water is great, but it might not be enough for some. I think the bigger issue is that I’ve seen a grand total of one company offering a sports drink that wasn’t sugary (and it’s because it was literally just repackaged pickle juice). The best option is to make it yourself.
Thank you for sharing!! Adam's 100% Natural is also a wonderful brand of peanut butter. I'm so happy you showed the organic Triscuits with expeller pressed oil! So much better than just organic or non organic hexane processed oil.
I love your videos I’m so happy I found this! I have been lookin for a video but I can’t find anything on this maybe you can help.... but sneaky “healthy” drinks they sell at the stores. Or another video request- how to read good labels /what to not go over in a day. Pleaseeeeeeeereeeee help! 😬😢
I make my own condiments and I make own bread out of almond flour because I want to know what I am eating. Although, I still have leaky gut and I don't know how to get rid of it.
I really enjoyed the video, However, it's important to consult with one's doctor before discontinuing foods in our diet. Eg, If you have diabetes, orange juice is excellent to counter hypoglycemia (fast acting glucose). It is the sugar from the fruit that helps bring balance when needed. Cheers.
You’re videos are by far the best more educational videos I’ve found . Are you able to share which names mean sugar: like other words? Example.. glucose.. high fructose ... that we can look for to NOT get in ingredients
I would love if you could review some of the "keto" dessert recipes on various websites. For example, my BF and I really love Ambitious Kitchen's peanut butter banana cake with chocolate chips and their peanut butter bars. But I'm sus about the amount of sugar and carbs even using honey and maple syrup.... And almond flour and coconut flour. It's all still refined sugars and carbs to some extent.
Hi Lacey I am new to your channel and I was wondering about the erythropoietin and monk fruit extract. I was hoping that you would show items with those ingredients in there. My parents are diabetics and I am looking for things with less sugar and came across Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetner with Erythritol and bought some of that for them and I hoping that is better than the cane sugar that they are used to eating. What is your opinion on that?
The one unhealthy thing ive never really been able to remove from my diet (comfortably) is Skippy Creamy Peanutbutter. So much processed stuff in the ingredients with different oils, hydrogenated oils, and added sugar. THE TEXTURE AND TASTE IS JUST TOO GOOD. All other raw peanut butters that aren't hydrogenated just don't have a texture that I like. Any good alternatives to match a skippy or jif?
Is the sugar in an apple the same as sugar in a soft drink? I always thought that ‘sugar is sugar’ but I’m wondering if the body will notice the difference in the sugar and maybe not store I as fat.
Nope your body sees them as the same as they both have the same chemical structure. But fruit has other benefits like nutrients which make them better than soft drinks. I recommend berries e.g strawberries, blackberries, raspberries as they tend to be lower in sugar than other fruits.
Great video. For peanut butter I was a little surprised you did not mention Laura Scudder's brand. 2 of their varieties have only peanuts and salt, nutty and smooth and one more has no added salt, only peanuts! My mom was a cooking teacher and very dietary/additive conscious and we only had Laura Scudders growing up and so I have also only had that brand. Love your videos!
Very good point, Kevin! I love the Laura Scudder’s brand, too! They don’t sell it normally in my area so I haven’t had it in a while, but it’s one of the best for sure 😍

Wow thank you so much for this video . It is Unbelievable what these companies do to sell their products. Very sad !!!!
Cool video... I'm reading more labels now a days and this information was very helpful. Thank You!

Love your videos! They are so informative! Great work and research. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Awesome, that's so helpful to me you going through the food labels like that. Thank you!👍👌
Good advice! For me, nuts are the ultimate snack instead of snack bars. I also like organic raspberries and blueberries.
Do you have Meal prep videos for breakfast lunch snacks and dinner I really like your videos
You just explain this so well. Thanks
The sunflower oil in those Triscuits.... Doesn't that cause inflammation?

Amazing video thank you so much,🌹❤️😘👌👍 many products I'm really shocked about, hidden sugar is the worst thing we must avoid it.
Very helpful
Great video!
I love your videos so much, thank you. 💕
I used to drink equate meal replacement drinks till I saw this video. I checked the label and it's loaded with added sugars. Thx for the vids

Great content! Thank you 🙏🏼
Dammit. I’ve been eating KinD granola with fat free yogurt for months. Eff word!
Lol I’m so sorry to break the news. 😔😭 But better late than never to learn how to improve, right? 😊
Loved this video! Very helpful.... and scary! 😂
Is coconut sugar better to add to tea or coffee than Xylitol?
The pasta sauce definitely surprised me!
Can u help me to have the rush3 way how to do whip cream and healthy food
Can you make a vid with hidden high sodium !?

They formulated it to become addicted to it aka sugar , train your tastebuds back to healthy
Make your own peanut butter and strain it out, maybe whip it before you use it everytime. Might sound like extra effort but it's worth it.
I love coffe...but I love caramel frafee from Starbucks I dont have time to do the whip cream

How is it hidden when it's right there on the label?
If you can't pronounce the ingredients, it's probably best to avoid the item altogether. Someone said that to me once and I think it's good advice.

IKR
Wondering what she's gonna do with those unhealthy foods she bought to make this video. Probably give it to a neighbor she hates?
kill them with sweetness right?
POV:your teacher made U watch this....
i love you😍😍😍🥰
Fruit Juice
SIMPLY ORANGE
One would think this is healthy
So did you take the groceries that had added sugar back to the store? 😂
Haha I wish! I am annoyed I had to give those companies money to make the video, but its worth the price to get the word out lol.
not troow
Honey is still added sugar. I'll take the fake sugar.
