People give Lars a lot of shit but they were able to figure out the tempo and lock right into it

That's not what happened. At first James was confused but then he got it. Kirk was talking about the catfish - probably what they all had for supper later that night. That's why he also said "Yeah" when James got it.

What does "Let Loose" mean? There is nothing he can do that will ever make them sound better overall. That time is long gone and sorry but Newsted was a MAJOR part of that sound and it's never coming back!

Really? On a different note. For a dude who is almost 60 years old, Kirk looks as healthy and happy as someone almost 30 his junior. Must be all the surfing he does.

For some reason, when I watch these videos, I get the feeling that James really doesn’t care much for Kirk anymore. It’s like Kirk is just a hired hand these days.
I feel James is just about over the capabilities of Lars, to the point in every one of these videos he mocks him and laughs a lot at Lars expense, and here we see them all doing it.
James never really cared for Kirk.James respects Rob but Lars is the only person that James probably gives a shit about.James appreciated Lars's vision of where the band should go and doesn't necessarily appreciate his drumming ability but he makes up for other stuff.
James only gave a shit about Lars and Cliff....others are just musician turned 'professional friends'.
James seemed furious over Kirk's lack of input into the album. Kirk claimed his ideas were lost when he lost a cell phone. Who doesn't keeps all of their ideas on a cell phone?!!?
With that being said, I think Kirk did some great lead work on Hardwired.
I wouldn't read too much into the alleged rift between these two. These guys are having the time of their lives and they're on top of the world. Winning cures alot of ills
Quit assuming what James thinks of any of his own band members. Just because he doesn't outwardly show his appreciation doesn't mean that it's not there. They've all had their ups and downs, but at the end of the day, Kirk is the glue of the band, he is the one who keeps everything together and the rest of the guys know it. That's why he is irreplaceable. Current Metallica is Metallica at it's strongest, this is the longest they've gone without a lineup change and they genuinely seem the happiest now, as you can see from the video - they spent 13 minutes laughing instead of practicing the songs. That's a time well spent.
I wish James started a solo project someday. With different musicians .

When Lars speaks everyone must be silent. When the others speak Lars is allowed to drum as loud and as much as he can. Pretty selfish, noticed it in other video's too.

Drums don't have a volume knob and there isn't a lot you can do with the amount of force a drummer applies to the instrument. Other than to make it even louder 😄. And on these tuning room videos they use audio from (apparently) the camera and a mixing table of some sorts. The camera microphones usually exaggerate the sound of drums, especially cymbals sound really loud. But Lars is also a bit obnoxious at times 🙄
Dont forget the filthy little pig throwing cups on the floor and spitting in other video, all for someone else to clean up. What a sad little man..

2:38 They sometimes come up with little spontaneous ideas but rarely do anything with it. - They keep sticking to this boring fixed stage-show. And even though they can change the setlist every night and all, they still seem to insecure creatively to do much out of the box. At least James and Lars seem hesitant, even when Kirk and/or Robare encouranging as you can see. - James has good ideas and creative impulses, but he's afraid to put anything out there. - I'm hoping for a very personal album by him one day. Just his music with some guest musicians or whatever... Perhaps when he's in his 60s or something...

I was convinced at Guitar Center on Saturday that lars does in fact suck ass. Metallica is still my favorite band but dammit Lars... Want proof ? Fast forward to 0:40 and watch until 1:10 and put the playback speed to 0.75. Just listen to the drums with off beat and unnecessary fills ... smh. And this is one of my favorite songs

1 = Hopelessly out of time after a simple drum fill
2 - Throwing shit on the floor trying to look cool, or busy, or important, or whatever he thinks he is
3 - A drummer asking "If thats the tempo, what would half of that be"..... Tempo is his job - Fail
4 - In these later videos we notice the other 3 laughing at Lars together, clearly its becoming an issue
5 - Clearly whoever edits and releases these videos laughs at Lars as well or why else show his incompetency to the world.
