Nomad Sculpt Quick Tutorial: Make Tapered KEY with Symmetry for 3D Printing (parts fit together)

Ive been using the "tube" tool for this purpose. You make a tube with just 2 end points and make whatever profile you want. Then you can edit the "radius" to get the taper. You can make the tapered block with the key in one go.

great video, you could do one thing to get a little quicker to your shape, create the cube and change the box topology to zero, so when you mask it you just select top part and scale and you already have your shape - its just a little quicker then your way

I know Im 11 months late to the party but I make a cone and then change the sides to 4 making a pyramid and then cut off the point

If there’s a scale tool, you can select the face you want to taper and scale it down

You can just take a box and set Division 0. A cylinder with divisions for a box is also possible. You can easily rotate the symmetry in the Symmetry menu - Gizmo edit.

Oh wow you can actually change the symmetry lines on the shape? My tube winds up with a diagonal symmetry center
