    *We have taken it out twice so far and love it **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it only takes 5 mins to inflate. Seats are comfortable, kayak handles well. We love it so far!!*

    I have my Yak fully loaded minus a anchor pole unit. With my Mantis shade rig which is extremely nice, as I burn like gas on my skin due to meds I take. After rigging, it's awesome. One thing I knew I had to get with a decked out PA 14 2016, is a Scotty Outriggers which I am mounting today 01June2016. The Torqeedo 403 is the best rig I added, as at the end of day we are tired n I can have my wife get beside me n cruise back with the 403. N it saved our life also.

    Great video! I too have a 10' (mine's an Ocean Kayak Tetra 10) and there aren't many vids out there with 10' kayaks rigged for fishing so THANK YOU! A SUGGESTION to you and all: Get a crate lid or make one. Also leash the rods that are stored and consider the one between your legs of you are swapping out rods fast (I don't leash the one I'm currently using; maybe I should). Last year I was fortunate enough to hook into my PB bass but rolled the kayak reaching to net the fish. I lost a St. Croix rod w/reel and tackle trays/other gear that did not float and was not teathered (some was/some was not). Done and said I was out about $300+ in gear in moments. That week I bought a second crate to make a lid for my gear crate (there are vids for making these lids). All the rods have their own Nite-Ize S-Biner attached to a piece of shock cord that is attached to the rod holder and the rod/reel. Everything is teathered or closed after that mishap now. We don't think it'll happen to us or know when but BE PREPARED. Some will say inexperience was my issue but even if it was, I could have saved the gear I lost. I hope this helps someone out there! I do care for you fellow fisherman. Have fun and be safe. Oh - I did end up being able to "measure" the LM bass (my scale sunk too so there was no weighing it) UGH!

      Don't leash your rods. Use foam wraps if you're that worried about them. Leashes can create an extreme safety concern in the event you capsize. Imagine having your legs wrapped up in leashes...especially when half the people out there don't wear their freakin PFD. I'd rather lose a rod than my life.

Fast forward to now: I have one of those kayaks on order and am going to try it as an easier to transport alternative to my 12 foot Sea king for fishing San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. You can find them on eBay or Amazon. Or check out your local sporting good store. They may also carry them. I now use Werner Paddles. www.wernerpaddles.com/
      A little pricey. But well worth it.

  • @kimroberson8376
    @kimroberson8376 5 лет назад

    Every angler only needs three fishing poles on a kayak. If you can't catch anything you're doing something seriously wrong. Bait /crickets , minnows, shad.
    Three test lines . Milk crate, air horn , life jacket, anchor, tow line, first aid kit, two minny flash lights. Dry bag/ plastic sandwich bags . Water bottle turkey sandwich. ...😆

    • @WestCoastBassin
      @WestCoastBassin  5 лет назад +1

      Great opinion! And everyone has a right to their own! I know many anglers who carry more than I do. Its about being prepared! Out of the 6 I may only use 2 that day. Just depends on how the day goes. Also each line has something different tied on. So while your baits are not working and you are spending time trying to figure out what to tie on next. I will keep on fishing! Thanks for the opinion though! #WearYourPFD

      they are flotation devices. So if I was to drop a rod in the water it would float and I would not lose my gear. They are good to have for sure. But now I have actually switched over to Rod leashes instead. Sometimes my line got caught in those flotation devices.
