Awesome collection! Coincidentally, I was browsing my copy of Levine's recently and I saw that knife, third from last, that RR always calls "half hawks" are actually a very old pattern of knives for sailors and the traditional name for them is "Whalers" or whaling knives.
I have now received a few RR knives and I have to say I'm very impressed. A couple have very minor issues but truly nothing to bother me, they are nice pieces to look at and admire.
I like your modifications on some of the knives, they are now unique. Great collection overall with quite a few pieces i would like to get my hands on. Thank you for showing them.
I purchase some RR a few years back and wasn't happy with the walk and talk and overall quality, but I recent purchased 2 RR and it seems to me that their quality control has gotten better over the years.
I just got my first RR a razor trapper has some flaws but for 16 all in on Amazon i would never complain i see more in my future...great collection u got there 😊
Fantastic I just subbed to your channel I was surfin around and saw you that’s fantastic….. I haven’t seen you around stop by I’m a huge rough Ryder guy and anytime I can meet more rough Ryder guys I love it nice to meet you I’m Pete AKA Jersey knife guy!!!!!!
@@MrBarlow dude I don’t know how I didn’t see you or get alerts!!!!! Anyway glad to meet up with you you’ll have fun in our little group of guys!!!!!! I say that because there’s only a few of us that like rough ryders!!!!!! Anyway stay well talk soon!!!!!!!!
@@MrBarlow I started out trying to get just one pattern of each Rough Ryder traditional knife. Of course i got caught up in series & handle materials. I'm still missing some patterns, not because they are hard to find, it's just my focus wonders off.
I've always liked RR as collector's items. I'll let someone more knowledgeable testify as to their work ethic and whether they have a place in a toolbox. But they have awesome patterns and I like the ones I own.
How did you dimple that sowbelly dude I want to do that to my new lockstock reserve denim Micarta those scales are so smooth and that’s exactly what I had in mind
I heated up some synthetic blue Rit dye in a pan (purchased at Michaels for $8) Then I dipped the knife in the heated dye for about a minute. Very easy method and it was my first dying experience. I think it turned out pretty good!
There's something to be said that I have between 10 and a 15 RRs and only one the exact same as any of yours. You cannot fault them for choice if you like a traditional. Do like their carbon steel though I have no complaints about their 440.
Just ran across your video you said you wasn't sure how the lady leg became a thing it was for gentleman gamblers the heel of the lady leg is actually a bottle opener I couldn't get the pattern till read this then the lady leg started to make sense

Didn’t know that. I thought it was a more modern design but it totally makes sense!
I have now received a few RR knives and I have to say I'm very impressed. A couple have very minor issues but truly nothing to bother me, they are nice pieces to look at and admire.
Very nice collection! Thanks for sharing with us. Really like your creative mods. I love the half hawk. Perfect for opening boxes of new knives.

I really want to try some scrimshaw soon

Nice collection. Marble knives are my favorites.

Purple sparkle barlow is sooooooo luxurious looking
I’m impressed with your blade and cover mods! I would like to see more of your work in the future!
One day I want to be able to make/replace the covers!
Very nice! I enjoy the RR Reserve editions.
Picked a few up… thx for the vid. Enjoyed.
Just pucked up a RR Marlin spike knife and it seems pretty solid. It will stay with my boat.
Cool lot of Rough Ryders there, Mr. Barlow.
I like the green G10 one as it's a bit different, could've used a shield though.
You have some real nice rough rider knife s

The only Rough Rider of yours that I have is the SouthWest pattern in the top row. Some of them were kinda cool
Nice collection
Nice collection. And I heard you say "delight!"
Haha ah yes, I’ll send the copy infringement check your way very soon! Thanks for watching Knife Delights!
Tear drop jack I believe you asked about. I agree the high plain series has a nice finish.
Tear drop jack! The proper name, thanks
Cool to see them all laid out together. I think you need more, though.
I couldn’t agree more… thanks for supporting my obsession haha
Very nice collection. You are missing some patterns like Sunfish, Elephant toes.
Yep, still trying to complete the knife circle of life 🙌

great collection
Lost my buckshot bone tear drop jack. I used the heck out of that thing. I'd love to have another. If you ever wanted to sell yours hit me up.
I got mine on eBay -I think there are some for sale there. Do a search for RR1547. I keep hoping RR will make some more, in any covers.

I could not agree more! They make so many different patterns at a great price. They're perfect for the collector that does not want to spend big bucks
Really like your mods. I did notice no "Red Pick Bone" in your collection. Guess they weren't all that popular with folks.
The red pick bone didn’t really catch my eye
i would like the 2'' knives and a 4-3/4'' mop copperhead
and the big green linerlock. how fast can you thumb it open ? my schrade + 125ot opened faster than a switchblade
Where do you by rough riders at? Stores or garage sales, friends? I’m new sub here!
Online they’re easy to find

Nice collection. You mentioned selling some knives. Do you use Ebay?
Yes I do, it’s the easiest method for me
Amazing!!!!!!!
How did you dye that white smooth bone blue ? Looks great !🤙

Wow which knife do you have that is similar?
@@MrBarlow The carbon Sow Belly, great little knives.

Well thanks to you, I learned some knife history today. After knowing that, I like and appreciate the lady leg a bit more!
What’s the best platform to sell knives on?
I sell them on eBay. It’s the most convenient for me
Que hermosa colecion no las vende
No canoes 🛶?
Sadly no RR canoes yet. A canoe and a true Hawkbill are next on my list
😳
It's a tear drop knife
