Just cured an old Sporty that had been smoking for about a year...He was told by a few it needed to be rebuilt....I found a breather hose blocked by a bolt.....put a new hose on it and cleaned the pipes out.
I see you use a reed style breather in this motor, I always thought they can only be used in top breather motors not bottom breathers, well this is what S&S say.
s&s does not know everything. they do what they think is best for s&s. i do what i want and the breather works good on all big twin motors from 1936-99. i have only had one customer that did not like it. it really worked good in the racing knucklehead we did but that was a long way from a stock motor. tatro

My junk bike came with Delkron cases. I like the removable sump plate. Outside oil lines. Strange machine indeed.
just another race motor. that is how race stuff is done. it has to work 1st, easy to work on 2nd, and looks are last.
