I respect someone who follows the religion of their parents. The Jews in my small town are disappearing. One reason I do not like evangelization is I want the Jewish people to survive. There are many Jews in my town who accepted Yeshua in previous generations but they attended Churches and blended in with Gentile believers. Some of their descendents don't even know they had Jewish ancestors. I keep hearing that Messianics are not a threat to the Jewish people but I do not know of Jewish families who have been believers in Yeshua for generations. The Messianic congregation near me has a Rabbi who is Jewish according to halacha but everyone else is a Gentile grafted in. How many congregations of Jews who believe in Yeshua are there? (and I am not talking about these grafted believers) More importantly, how many congregations of Jewish believers with many generations are there? Why don't we hear more about Jewish believers from families who are Jewish believers?
You make many good points. I have to point our that the Messianic Rabbi you speak of may be Jewish by birth but in no way does he follow halacha (Jewish law) which forbids him from teaching wrong Torah to the masses-a grave sin. Of course, Christians (or even Jews) who grew up with these teachings might not understand Torah Judaism but a Jew calling himself a Rabbi who teaches against the Jewish 13 Principles of Faith is desecrating the Torah. Jewish believers who pass true Torah beliefs down to their children believing in One G-d (and not the trinity) are saving Judaism, and this Messianic movement is fooling Jews to follow what are Christian beliefs but 100% against the Torah and Jewish faith, which messes up generations of Jews. The arrogance of the Messianic Rabbi to think he knows more than true Jewish Torah scholars because of his personal life experience and wrong interpretation of written and Oral Torah! His lack of understanding of true Torah is doing damage to good hearted Jews who are misguided just as he is. This false "Rabbi" cannot change the Torah and should study works of known Torah scholars who can teach him the true path for a Jew and he should publicly repent for pretending there is a new brand of Judaism that includes Christian beliefs rather than staying true to the fundamentals of Judaism.
In the West, there may be more gentiles in these kind of congregations, but in Israel you will find that they are predominantly made up of Jewish believers. Just as there has always been an element of gentiles grafted into Israel (Ruth, Rachav, the wives of Joseph and Moses), so it is true today. God's will was always that Israel would be 'or hagoyim', a light to the nations.
