not only heart but a lot of technique
The brain has a lot to do with t as well.
🎶👏👏👏👏👏👏💕
I've had to listen to this piece 500 million times to understand it, but now that I do it is among Chopin's best works.
Listen to Idil Biret's recording to fully understand it
An extraordinary masterpiece!!
not only technique or heart but a lot of passion
my God. He is incredible.
Not only technique and heart, but also a lot of notes.
PS: Seriously though, for me this is the ultimate version of one of Chopin's ultimate pieces. It lives deep in my heart. ♥️
Oh. My. !!!! Timeless perfection, thank you Daniil.
Seminal piece executed to perfection by what well may be the greatest pianist of his generation. Bravo, Daniil!
Not only Chopin but a lot of Trifonov...
bruh the comment above you.
Genius? He's not fit to lick Chopins boots , Marc Andre Hamelin is far better than this overrated pianist
@@ciararespect4296 respect all pianists he does his best and everyone has his own taste.
@@ciararespect4296 This is not a popularity contest, sir. In any case, you are entitled to your shallow opinion. Most of the world would find your insult of the greatest young pianist in the present day most inappropriate and mistaken. I'm afraid you need to have your head and ears checked.
@@ciararespect4296but he won third? Martha argerich also said he has great technique. I also agree, he is a genius.
One of the most profound musical compositions by Chopin. Why this composition has not achieved equivalent fame and categorized with the likes of the 4th Ballade Op. 52 or Fantaisie Op. 49 is beyond me... The harmonic complexity is just as breathtaking. The emotion aroused within is just as powerful. Truly a masterpiece.
not only technique but a lot of heart...
I think the F minor Fantaisie is just as overshadowed by the Ballades and Scherzi. But imo both of them are his two greatest compositions, followed by the 3rd Sonata which is ALSO overshadowed, specifically by the funeral march.
True indeed.
You can't seriously think the B flat minor sonata is superior to the B Minor? I hope never to hear the B flat minor ever again, ditto the dreadful B flat minor scherzo.I think that the Polonaise Fantaisie is one of the very finest works, the f minor ballade is comparable, but not much else. Chopin is generally overrated and overplayed for me. The etudes are fabulous, a couple of waltzes, but the Nocturnes with their dreary middle sections you can forget. The first movement of the e minor concerto is beautiful for the piano, but sleep inducing for the orchestra. For me, Chopin was a conceited spoilt popinjay. Nothing like the depth of Schumann or the magnanimity and grandeur of Liszt. The proof also is that there have been many very great pianists who played not one note of Chopin.
Don't take it from me, take it from the legions of great pianists who never
( or barely) played him....... Let's start with Richter..... a few etudes, the E minor Scherzo, F minor ballade and of course, the Polonaise Fantasie, that's more or less his total interest in Chopin, and those that never did: Schnabel, Brendel ( apart an early recording of the Polonaises) Edwin Fischer, Annie Fisher too, Backhaus ( apart from an early recording of the
Etudes) Myra Hess, Clifford Curzon......... I could go on and on.
Look, I know why you like him, as have countless millions of others. It's easy on the ear and the heartstrings, popular stuff. The all Chopin piano recital is now thankfully pretty much consigned to the dustbin, but it was once like that.
It's the same reason why people like Rachmaninov. Sweet and sugary, easy on the ear , not challenging for the casual listener of classical music. What did Brendel say when asked about Rachmaninov? I think he said that he would not want to overestimate his abilities as a composer....... damning with faint praise.
As for the popinjay martinet Chopin, on receiving in the post the first printing of Schumann's Kreislerana, dedicated to him, what did he say about it ....?....."Nice cover"....... even though Chopin could NEVER have composed a work as profound and deep as Schumann's masterpiece.
And to say that his late works achieve the profundity of late Beethoven ( or any Beethoven).......I'm sorry, that's just wholly misguided, and wrong.
His performance is always amazing🎉I listen well🎶💕
a delicious cake of technique with icing of heart
I have wondered for years if Chopin had the strength to play this piece. It is an ultimate avant-garde concept with continual cosmic twists. So poetic tragic! PWG
This is by far the best interpretation I’ve heard! I love the way he plays the beginning!!
only same comments but a lot of heart...
As Argerich has said, Daniil really has it all. Hats off gentlemen, a genius.
not only heart but a lot of technique...
I'm playing this is four weeks and am inclined to (sort of) copy Richter and play a slower introduction. The grace-notes are marked as crotchets ... Wonderful masterpiece. Could spent a lifetime studying it. This version is very fine, as are the readings of Arrau, Oxana Shevchenko, Polinni and Richter of course ... Cannot BEAR Horowitz playing it!!
not only technique but a lot of
Chopin's A flat polonaise-fantasy is arguably one of the greatest piano works of the romantic era, and those who have performed it successfully have lived with it for much of their lives, as it is a work built not on structure per se, but on linking the 3 melodic tonal elements using the medient harmonic. Liszt understood this when he said that the Op. 61 was beyond the sphere of art. Rubinstein and Perlemuter understood it in their incredible performances where the lushness of this composition was allowed to breathe freely and float toward one of the most climactic passages in the piano literature. Trifonov has the enviable technique for this, and just about anything else he chooses, and one day his performance of this work will set the highest mark.
That was Niecks. Liszt rather expressed misunderstanding in his monograph.

Such sensitive, gentle touch...
I totally COMPLETELY LOVE this. end of story.
11:04 look at his hands... the shift between double thirds is incredibly pleasant to watch
.....just wonderful...😢
A lot of heart as well as brilliant technique!
Exquisita interpretación de este pianista fantástico!
Bravo. Such facilitation...
The reason why we have to love him
eXactly ❤️
Extraordinaire!!!❤️❤️❤️
Lovely performance. The pianist has striking resemblance to the older brother on the 90s sitcom "Boy Meets World".
Bravo!!!!❤
Not only technique and heart but also a deep line drive to left by castellanos
Incomparable
Lindíssimo ‼️
Lovely
Maestoso Trifonov!!!!
Why do I like him the most?
This is one of the most beautiful pieces my ears had the pleasure to be exposed to.
I can not understand the story this polonaise is telling, because of the abundance of melodies it contains.
Instructions
1. Add one part technique and one part heart
2. Mix well
Then bake them together : )

No solo tecnica , Sino mucho Corazón 😔
not only a lot of heart...
but technique.
The winner of this competition's only claim to fame is that she beat Trifonov. The commission will never be able to wipe the egg off their faces. Even at that age his playing was divine.
Disagree. His playing is shallow and empty. Although Trifonov plays with great technical proficiency there is not ONE note that is uniquely personal or creative or communicative in any way. Avdeeva played with some creativity. She is doing quite well now. Oh! And SHE WON.
@@LazlosPlane Chacun a son gout

There is no way Trifonov could not come first in this competition unless the commission decided beforehand that they were not going to have the usual young Russian genius!
Trifonov had a lot of slips in the competition. He became much better later on though
this is when Trifonov was actually good
is he bad now? what happened? I was really really begging all the gods in heaven that Trifonov never burns out of playing piano. He's a godsend.
Why is everyone writing the same comment?!
Because Internet.
Not only technique but a lot of technique
Trifonov did not win ......
Fazioli pianos❤️
this bruh feet huge

Hahahah

1:17 He literally didn't even try to play that top A-flat lol
JESUS H CHRIST WOW
Between Konrad, the General and Krisztina, ever again...
perfection piano un peu mtallique dommage!
sean44david it’s FAZOLI sound!
Marvelous pinsim, of course, probably the most AGILE, most POWERFUL performance of this work ever recorded, but this interpretation lacks the elegance, the deeply introspective, meditative quality inherent in the work, and much of its majestic grandeur, because of the super intense focus on VIRTUOSITY. As a result, while excellent in many waysthis brilliant interpretation oveshoots the mark when it comes o affect. A truly wonderful pianist who nevertheless has much to learn about the inner meaning of profouundly lyrical works such is this.
not only technique but a lot of... uhh... what's the word? oh well
Mocking birds, go mock car alarms..
Pity the instrument is not well tuned and has too much reverb.
how can we reduce the reverberation of a piano?

Why do they write :: Daniil Trifonov, third prize winner ::
Why did he not win 1st prize? Who won 1st. and 2nd.? Are contests really so deaf?
Or do they write 3 because it was the third time he won?
This wasn't the final round. The final round was a concerto competition and he was the third best person to play it.
He didn't win 1st prize because he's not a rational stable performer. This polonaise is meaningless in his hands, this is such a very difficult piece to play musically, that Avdeeva, which is consistent, can play much better. Trifonov have marvelously and terrible performances while Avdeeva is always in high standards.
@@LuisKolodin I saw Trifonov play this piece in masterclass with Richard Goode, and Goode said his entire conceptualization of the piece is so off-base that he didn't even know where to start. This was after Goode gave really encouraging and helpful feedback to 2 prior performers. Goode basically walked off the stage after hearing Trifonov play this. It was shocking but illustrative of how many great pianists see Trifonov's antics.
@@tekraynak this is a very difficult (musically speaking) piece indeed. one must know the exact meaning of each note, otherwise it simply falls apart.
This is horrible. It's why he didn't win first place. Polonaise-Fantasie is one of the most musically difficult music to play, where you must fully understand the meaning of each session. Trifonov is an intuitive musician, while Avdeeva is rational and very assertive.
@Drosophila Melanogaster listen to Avdeeva though.
@Drosophila Melanogaster whatever. I don't care about an empty opinion of someone who can't discuss music in rational terms and just insulted me.
His playing is not horrible. He is a gifted artist and was 19 years old. May be was not a perfect performance but he certainly has great technique and a passionate soul.
Indigesto.
Mechanical. Robotic. Fast passages WAY too fast. Overall, uninspiring
nonexistent technique and also no heart ... lol
Seeing your negative comments on people like Kate Liu, Babayan and Trifonov while praising Avdeeva shows how bad your taste is, pretty embarrassing
