Can we just appreciate that THE TayZonday causally comments on Smooth McGroove’s videos? My mind is literally blown every time and it just makes me happy.
This is something I did not think I would write, but this music brings back some memories for me. A long while back like 09, I was playing this game on my DS in a hospital room with my grandfather after he had a massive cardiac arrest. He was not doing well; his heart was failing fast. Being a child, it’s hard to cope with that sort of thing. A person you had adored and loved for as long as you remember dying in front of you. In the game, I first heard this song and my grandfather asked to hear it too. He told me that music was one of the best things he had heard in a long while. He knew nothing of video games, but he wanted to listen to it because I liked it. He looked up at the crucifix on the wall, handed the DS back to me, and told me “I’ll miss you”. Right then and there he had another cardiac arrest, and an aneurysm that took his life. Every time I hear this very pretty song, I just cry a little. This video made me cry a lot. I can only say one thing to you: Thank you
I'm sorry for your loss. May your grandfather continue to rest in peace. I know what it's like to have a song that brings back memories like this. I don't know if it will help you, but I started learning how to play the song, and others. It seemed to help.
(autotune) EDIT: actually i should clarify. Using software, you can move an individual note up or down in pitch, and if he gets a take thats 99% perfect, he can change the one wrong note by half a pitch to be mathematically perfect. His whistling is very concise and clear, its easy to pitch shift if necessary. I have no idea if he does, just that its easy to do for whistling, and less fulfilling for the acapella parts.

You can't have Magus in your party in the Zeal arc. You can recruit him after all the events that happen in Ocean Palace and inside the Blackbird, that means no Zeal at all 😅
Sometimes I think about the deeper meaning beyond simple nostalgia behind why games like this, songs like this, feel so immensely meaningful for so many people. Something inside of me just screams that this is part of my formative experience, and that it left a mark that goes beyond the transient entertainment you might get from say a Saturday morning cartoon. Chrono Trigger is one underrated game and has a soundtrack like no other. One RPG that should get a remake. You should do more from this game @Smooth McGroove can't go wrong. Nice work. Glad your back doing what you do best
Underrated? I mean it's lauded as one of the greatest games of all time by critics and fans (it's my personal goat if you will) and being the 10-12th best selling Square game of all time...
