Totally agree with u, it's sad that he doesn't get the accolades or rewards for everything he's done!! He keeps country music real n plays it like it's meant to be
Cash was one man in all of country; there was no one else like him or to equal him for his creations and singing. Marty Stuart grew up in that world since he was a talented boy and he IS the real deal.
Yes he's been around a long time (Marty) and I always wondered why he's not invited to the Country Awards etc. He outshines all of them, he started out real young and was always country til later more rock too. Love Connie Smith too!
What a night that was. I love this man and I miss him every single day. When he left, our world was forever changed. I am grateful to him for the gifts he left each and everyone of us through his music.
Love this man ! What a legend he was!I just started listening to his music about 2 years now Eve n tho I knew of them. I fell in love with Johnny Cash’s music! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm in tears....greatness....much love and respect for the Man in Black. Sending love and continued blessings to all of his family, friends, and fans. Huge hug and all good things!!!!
Such a great show! I saw Johnny in concert in 1994 or 1995 in Jacksonville, FL, and he had the same cool train background at the show I attended. I have been to many, many concerts over the years, but getting to see Johnny cash was the highlight.
I met quite a few famous country singers, George Jones, Mel Tillis, Ray Price, Charlie Pride, Roy Clark, Willie Nelson, Johnny and Tommy Cash... I've seen them all in concert a ton of times... I mean I've seen all the greats Waylon, Hag, Jones, Cash... you name a legend and I've seen them perform a dozen times... But old Marty got to be close and hang out, and perform with all of those people and then some!!! I couldn't even imagine that... just meeting some of those folks was life changing for me- I couldn't even imagine the stories Marty Stewart has.
Meeting all of those guys has been one of the finer points in my life. I love telling the stories of meeting these legends so much that I've been known to talk about it even to random strangers...lol. My wife just rolls her eyes and giggles when I trap someone into listening to me. A friend of mine was a DJ and local entertainer which is why I was fortunate enough to have met all of the people I met. When you love the music as much as I do meeting people that you idolized your whole life was amazing to me beyond words. Like I said I can't imagine the stories Marty Stewart must have!! I'm sorry that you never got to see Johnny and June live, they had a stage presence unlike anything I've seen. Johnny was a remarkable performer. My buddy Frank always used to say "if Johnny Cash told you to go to hell you would be excited about the trip" hahaha.

Yeah, I guess this is why Marty seems to be the “go to” guy for showcase-style shows, interviews, and fundraisers. I think he had a big part in planning the big livestreamed concert @ the Country Music Hall of Fame and Musuem in September 2020. Everything was shut down tight. Hard time. The show featured country musicians as well as😊 museum technicians who maintain the instruments just right. Marty played in several duos - so nice. The concert was up on RUclips, but it hasn’t popped up recently. Guess it’s time to check it out again.😊
Marty Stuart is a great talent and wit. He says, "most of what I learned from you got me into trouble." And Cash says, Marty didn't learn to "twitch". Great video. Thanks.
THERE IS ALWAYS SOME NEGATIVE SPEWING BASTARD THAT WANTS U 2 KNOW HE HIS A HISTORY EXPERT.SHUT UP & LISTEN 2 THE MAN IN BLACK.1 OF KIND NO MATTER WHO BACKS HIM UP
Most of my family loved Johnny Cash and my kids watched the Johnny Cash Show on TV where there was a train in the background. My eldest who was about 3 or 4 would run from whatever room he was in when he heard that train and just stand in front of the TV and watch Johnny Cash sing. My mom loved Marty Stuart and watched him on TV and now he still has his own Nashville area TV show with Connie Smith there too and special guests, which I cannot get at this time. Very disappointing! That's why I'm on youtube trying to find it now.!
I've seen other clips where he says he started out with "two musicians". The two musicians were Marshall Grant and Luther Perkins. Without those two, we probably wouldn't have a Johnny Cash. I know he had a falling out and a court case with Marshall, but they had patched things up by 1995.
I meet Johnny in 1977 with his son at the Nashville State Fair. He was just walking down the midway and he stopped and said "hi, I'm Johnny Cash." He asked where I was from and when I told him my dad loved him, he asked if I wanted a picture together. He was the nicest guy.
Country Music can go back to what we loved. Artists just need to tap into their Soul and then Speak to ours! So glad I can Still Listen to Johnny Cash!!!!
Marty opens up playing Clarence White's B-Bender. Coincidentally, Marty played with Clarence's brother, Roland White, in the Lester Flatt band. Also, the White Bros were in a couple of Andy Griffith episodes as "The Country Boys" band.
Johnny Cash was a favorite entertainer of mine. I have an original Sun LP and gave it to my son recently. It's a shock that John didn't mention: Luther Perkins who created the "boom-chicka-boom" style on his Fender Esquire electric guitar or Marshall Grant that played bass(The Original Tennessee Two). Perkins remained in the band until his untimely death on August 5, 1968. Marshall Grant remained in the band from it's inception in 1954 until 1980 as bass player and road manager. John mentioned A.W. "Red" Kernodle that played steel guitar but never recorded with the band.
🌷I just wish those photographers would not film these singers in black&white!Makes them look like they have more wrinkles than they do! Oh my! One of myFAVORITES!Johnny Cash singing "The Tennessee Stud"😄💖lovelace love!💜🌹💖🌷
Dueling electric guitars. Lol Bob Wooton & Marty Stewart. Neither one ain’t gonna let the other out do the other on Doing my time. It was funny. It sounded great
Bob Wooten & Marty Stewart trying to outdo each other on the electric guitar but they were having fun on "Doing my time ". They had a great time with this video. Luther Perkins is sadly missed. That wasn't Marshall Grant OR it didn't look like him anyway IF it was he lost alot of weight and changed his looks.
Marty is a "cool cat" because he hung out with a very "cool cat"; Johnny. I wrote and perform a song as a tribute to Johnny. You can hear it, just search using words: Johnny Cash Me and My Heart. Keep up the good work here!
Totally wonderful video! I’m enjoying it again the end of January 2024. ❤❤
Shout out to the sound guy for getting the slap back on Johnny's vocals. Great performance 🎼👍🏼
Marty is a real anchor for country music. There are more out there, but Marty's the main man.

my biggest musical regret is not getting to a Johnny Cash show.
Cash was one man in all of country; there was no one else like him or to equal him for his creations and singing. Marty Stuart grew up in that world since he was a talented boy and he IS the real deal.
Been and will remain a Cash Fan since '55.
I couldn’t have said any better. So very true!
When Johnny Cash says, your appreciated...You know you've done your job well
Watching this video it is easy to see why Johnny Cash was such a respected and revered performer.
Wish I was around then. I was ..but didn't pay attention. Now I love him and it is too late.💔
