    It’s pretty realistic that Wendy wins at the end. Power hungry individuals that drag themselves to the end (w/ their trauma & all) usually get their way. Wendy had a very high tolerance to risk & absurd situations.

      Show did a great job of showing how a woman can be more calculated then a man due to trauma. Like Camila also. Yet showing us the impulsiveness of Darlene and Ruth not being able to bury it being their down fall.

    Blaming the Byrd family for all the langmore and Snell deaths is like blaming your drug dealer for your addiction.
    Actions have consequences. Darlene and ruth made some daft decisions that got them killed. They were not innocent collateral

    I too felt sick at the ending, seeing the complete transformation of Jonah. For a while I thought he was kind of annoying. But that ending was so tragic. As a parent to see parents grooming their kids into a life of crime is terrifying. At the end, Wendy was as abusive as her father. Not physically but emotionally to the point that Jonah would kill for them. Your series of videos on Ozarks is the best I have watched. Ozarks is such a great show. I’ll miss new seasons, but it had to end and this ending was so surprising and tragic, it was perfection.

    Oh my gosh this was so helpful!!! Knew that I really liked it but I also knew I wasn't really following all of it for sure. Plus it doesn't help that I watch on a regular laptop PC, so I think I'm missing some visual. For example when you described the significance of Ruth seeing the two bobats crossing the street, I still couldn't tell that's what they were even after watching a couple more times! When I was watching the first time I thought maybe she was having some kind of vision...they looked like deer maybe but nothing developed from that later so I just let it go.
    Thanks for talking about the name Byrde, I knew it had to have signficance, I watched it alone and didn't have anyone to talk it out with. One thing that kept shouting in my head was WENDY BIRD like in Peter Pan. I guess we aren't supposed to look for any parallels.
    Also, I agree with people who didn't like how dark so many scenes were. And, Zeke, I think I do remember that he got taken back to foster care somehow, again, right?

    So, you talked about the old footage being brought back of the garden and the clip of them looking at the office space in Chicago, in the first episode. I see where the garden being mentioned comes up after the fact. But honestly I thought there was going to be some weird sinister thing bc Marty mentions the windows twice, once in that flashback. Maybe the lover's death the first time but then why the second time?

    • @kateskevington8119

    I think the reason why Wendy became so power hungry was because of her getting Ben killed. She wanted his death to mean something and didn’t want to lose everything for nothing. Also I find her saying that “I’m not going to stop until I know it’s impossible”, a good reversal of when she was telling Omar that it was impossible over and over again.

    Ngl.. I was very disappointed in the ending. I think the last kill should have been Ruth because she was the favorite. Mel as the final death was boring. He was annoying, yes but not to the point that his death was satisfying enough to be the final kill of the series. Overall the series was amazing. Could the final scene have been better? To me, yes. But that doesnt take away from how good this season was all the way through.

    What bothers me is all the information Wendy's dad had about her (illegal activity, dropped Ben off to be killed) yet he does not use any of that. If he was so mean and wanter her to suffer, he could have easily done that. Mel and Nathan had all the evidence they needed. Yet the show does not have them use any of it. Rather it has Mel, which they said numerous times was intelligent, break into a house and wait for the family to return while holding Ben's ashes. All he had to do was tell Maya that the Byrde's killed Ben and are holding his ashes. That would have been the intelligent thing to do to ensure the Byrde family would not win in the end.

      I don't know for sure, but I got the impression from his behavior in that scene that he might have gone back to using. He just seemed off, compared to every other scene he was in, almost like he was sweating or out of breath or something. Or maybe I gathered that was part of the reason why he decided to forgo his renewed badge, considering that was what happened the first time. But I'm really just speculating, I don't know for sure. Could explain his obsession with it the byrdes ever since he left, though.

    • @davidding8814
      @davidding8814 2 года назад +2

      Mel and Nathan do not have all the evidence they needed. What puzzled me was actually why Mel acted like he did. That jar of Ben's ashes was stolen from the Byrdes' house, it's not admissible evidence in court. By stealing that jar he actually just wasted one of the best pieces of evidence he could've used to bring them down. It's rather inconceivable that an experienced cop would do something so foolish as that. All other evidence was circumstantial at best, the same quality of evidence that Maya or Petty had.

      She didn't tell them because she still had somewhat of a moral compass. Although her family's business caused a lot of pain and suffering it was clear that she was at least attempting to do some good.
