yup, I'm getting the ready2race f1 bundle for the f1 23 game and ACC. Worth noting theres options for other wheels in different bundles. Plus the ability to swap to almost any other wheel out there and upgrade easily to loadcell pedals and boost kit for 8nm torque

They cheapened out with every new generation of the same wheel... the G27 (it's predecessor) came with a H pattern shifter, the G25 (the one before it) came with a shifter you can swap between H pattern and sequential with a twist of a dial...

POS pedal set. Mine started spazzing out when I tried to go flat out. Even the clutch would stop working. Trashed them and bought the CSL pedal set from fanatec and the quality is great.

For anyone stumbling upon this, do some shopping around for bundles with wheels and pedals. G29 is fine and people are fast in them, but you can be fast on anything.
Direct Drive is a type of wheel base that has surprisingly been getting cheaper and competing with Logitechs G29. To name a few brands, Fanatec, Moza, Cammus, and Turtle Beach.
The G29 is gear driven to give it more power, while Direct drive is directly driven from the motor. Direct drive offers a more immersive feel and quicker feedback, with less noise. It use to be the g29 was the best beginner option to find out if you like racing or not. But now, sometimes you can find Fanatec or Moza having a sale or Cammus being cheaper than the G29. They are all pretty much plug and play while Fanatec may require some tuning in the menu software, but there are plenty of guides and settings you can just copy over in a second.
At the end of the day, you can buy cheap options that give you an idea of the hobby and if you'll like it or not.
Places like micro center sometimes have sim rigs setup that you can try them. Or there are businesses that you can go there and rent a time slot on one.

no, its not 300usd... it came to market at 400, the was dropped to 350 while the less sold PS version fell to 300, but the gearshifter is an additional 60

@@georgfrankostill you don’t need 10 nm for a good sim racing experience. Mine as well spend 800 dollars for 8 nm plus pedals instead of 1000 dollars for just the wheel base. And you could probably wait for company’s to make more console items for cheaper with higher nm power.

The CSL DD ready2race bundle is direct drive and can be easily upgraded, I think you should go for one of those with an extra 100 bucks because it's so worth it. The difference between direct drive and gear/belt driven is night and day.
I would recommended getting one of Amazon were it’s been opened but not used (returned) I saved a lot of money 😊

For 309$ I bought my Asetek TK Bundle(12NM Wheelbase, load cell pedals and wheel) because someone at MicroCenter messed up the price on the online listing, lol. The MSRP of all those products combined is 1570$. I guess, I have the "ultimate" 300$ racing simulator.

first of all, the g923 is more expensive than the g29 and litterally only has one feature which isnt even a good feature
also you shouldnt get the logitech gear shifter, get the thrustmaster th8s (only pc compatible) it is an 8speed shifter and is priced pretty close to the logitech one

They sell this thing nearly unchanged since 15 years. It's basically the lowest you can get when thinking about buying a "real" force feedback wheel.
It's noisy, it rattling and it's weak. If you're on pc better spend a few more bucks and get a Moza R3.
Or be sane and get a moza r5. I’m not a Logitech fanboy at all but this thing hasn’t been out for even 10 years let alone 15.

The logitech begginer wheels are very nice but I would go for the T300 in that price range! Its got more forcefeedback, the belt drive feels a bit more smooth than the gear driven in the logi and you can swap wheels on the T300. In the end, you cant go wrong with either though!
I have G29 almost since release. In my opinion G29 and G923 are the best for beginners and under $300.

Not bad for 300 dollars but there are more valuable pieces on the market for about the same. For example the Thrustmaster T300.
The force feedback is strong enough to actually give you feedback, The G923 has 2.1 Newton meters of torque.
While the T300 has 3.9 newton meters of torque.
Also the build quality of the rim is good, but the pedals could be better, potentiometers which registers throttle and braking input get dirty quickly and need to get cleaned every few months.
But nonetheless the G923 is a good beginner wheel.
Everything is cheap used and most of the time it’s not even in bad condition

I owned the G29, G27 and recently got a Moza R5. And I would ALWAYS rather get a Direct Drive Like the R5 instead of a Belt one like the G29

i just picked one up 2 days ago and i can say its a pretty good BEGINNER wheel, the more you pay = the better quality you get, i gotta take the rubber out of the brake cuz its way too stiff which is the only downside so far
save 200 more to get something better like the R5 bundle by moza racing you can use any racing wheel with the quick release on the moza base and pedals are adjustable
And people say that you should get a thrust master, a fanatec. For over 300 dollars you only get the wheel. If you want a clutch pedal, that’s another 150 dollars. And if you want an H shifter, also 150. Not to mention the wheel stand that u may want to buy, around 100 dollars. The G2X wheels will never be beaten. They perform great and are very tough and very affordable compared to the rest. Not the best wheel if u want absolute peak realism, but u can definitely drive and drift beautifully
its not even about realism, the logitech cog driven systems do not even come close to the amount of ffb detail to that of a direct drive. also the logitech is loud as fuck, where dds are basically silent. worth the money if you ask me

Direct drive wheels are a lot better that the gears used in the logitech wheels and belt wheels in the thrustmeters.
I only paid $60 for mine along with a vr headset, if yall have patience and know how to make a sale/sell a sale you can get anything for pretty cheap
This wheel makes a LOUD rattle sound. It's like broken inside. Replaced mine with the T300 and it is such a improvement, night and day. The Logitech wheel feels like a toy.

Correction, it’s been out for years and you can easily find them for about $150. And the older version (the g29) is just as good because the true force really doesn’t add a ton of detail. It’s an amazing feature, but it’s only truly noticeable on their expensive direct drive wheel. Have fun out there y’all! IMO, no matter what, if you get a steering wheel, you won’t regret it

Go for the cheaper tmx pro. The force feedback on the mid range Logitech wheels will shake your whole table. The tmx pro provides more realistic force feedback that shakes the wheel instead of the whole base and everything it’s attached to.
This video should not exist in the age of Fanatec CSL DD ($400) and Camus C5 ($350), both are 5nm direct drive, while the Logitech is not at 2nm of force

$300 for this wheel is actually terrible. Gear driven wheels are noisy, and are very clunky. Spend an extra $60 and get the belt driven Thrustmaster T300RS instead. OR save an extra $200 and get the Moza R5 bundle which is Direct Drive for ~$500

As a ps5 owner (and playing on PlayStation since I was a kid) I would say that this is a total loss on PlayStation games, we do not have a good racing game we only have cartoony ones where you don’t feel the weight of the cars or like driving one. I don’t know why Sony didn’t yet give us one since it’ll make them huge money if it was even remotely close to Forza

I would recommend getting a pxn V10 and just getting a thrustmaster shifter to replace the shit one it comes with. Or any other usb shifter. The pxn v10 is slept on, it’s way more responsive and powerful than the g923( I did a side by side before I returned the g923

The Fanatec Ready To Race bundle is a much better deal, a strong, quiet, and smooth base with a wheel and 2 pedals. Amazing deal for $400. If you want a clutch, its 35 bucks and a clamp can be similar price. Only problem is that it can only support pc unless you purchase an Xbox compatible wheel rim and shifter and handbrake can be quite expensive but are very good.
I was going to throw away my G920, but Next Level Racing released a new Cockpit so I bought it instead of the Moza R5 I was actually going to buy... I'll probably keep my G920 for another year...
6 months later have you regretted making that horrible decision
