    • @JohnnyWishbone85
      @JohnnyWishbone85 Год назад +2

I think C4 corvettes in general are very undervalued in general, for two reasons.
First, the C5. In my personal opinion, the C5 was the worst thing to happen to Corvettes because that was the generation that was bought by all the Boomer guys who fell in love with the C2 split windows and other stuff like that when they were kids, which is how the Corvette became associated with dads in golf polos, jean shorts, and white tennis shoes. This is not any inherent fault of the C5; whatever Corvette became in the mid-90s would suffer this fate, but it’s undeniable that the C5 Corvette is, for better or worse, the official car of tasteless Baby-Boomer-dom, and that has unfortunately rubbed off on all other Corvettes.
Second: Certain aspects of the C4 are just terrible. The interior is a disaster. It’s the cheapest thing GM could throw together. The only saving grace is the instrument cluster on the early models, but those, in typical GM fashion, broke all the time. The low-speed driving experience was also awful. The throttle pedal was stiff, the front axle is fifteen feet ahead of you, it’s loud as hell, and the interior rattles and squeaks are almost as loud as the pickup truck engine they put in it.
However, I say they’re undervalued because you cannot understand the C4 until you drive one on a back road, *HARD.* The C4 has no respect for you until you *beat* it. Then it comes absolutely alive. Those ridiculous overhangs front and rear? They conceal the track-to-wheelbase ratio of a go-kart. That pickup truck engine? *Bottomless* torque from idle. It has no subtlety to it at all, no finesse. You just throw it at the turns as hard as you can, and put your trust in Zora. And the design. I think the basic shape is a tour-de-force of mid-eighties futurism. Some of the details were not executed well (this is GM we’re talking about), but the fundamental design is, I believe, really stunning.
It’s a little bit working class for this channel, but I think that’s the charm of it. It was designed *specifically* to be the monster that lurked in the rear-view mirror of Ferraris, Porsches, and so on, that they just couldn’t get away from, that any working guy could afford. In that respect, it did *exactly * what it was designed to do, and for that reason, I think it deserves more love than it gets.

I have a feeling that C6 ZR1 and GT350/GT350R will become valuable later on down the road, the C6 ZR1 was so mind blowing that you could get a 638hp and still beat out some super cars for half the money, the GT350 was groundbreaking that you could get a Flat Plane Crank V8 in a affordable package and a serious track car from the factory

@Bensmite Herro The Shelby GT350 stopped production for 2021. 350's received a 5.2L Voodoo Flat plane crank motor, Fords highest HP N/A engine, and a first and only for them. The new 500 didn't even get the flat plane. Also, manual transmission, lower production #'s (still quite a few, colors like Avalanche Grey or Leadfoot gray pull in more for resale).
The C6 Z06 and ZR1's will also be valuable down the line. They are the reason dodge made the Hellcat, as well as the Shelby GT500.
In my opinion, i would also add the S197 GT500's. Specifically the 2013-2014 years. 5.8L V8 with a 2.3L supercharger, tied to a manual transmission, carbon fiber driveshaft, etc. F'ing fantastic choice and already climbing in price now.

He was actually thinking of selling it as he was getting shipped off to Afghanistan or Iraq can’t remember what war we where in at the time . Im shocked you mentioned Callaway Corvette's! I thank you for that, they truly are under the radar. I will add though the C4 ZR-1 particularly the 1990 due to the last of the old front end and the 1995 for having the possibility to have a match set of Dunn cylinder heads. They made very little of the later year ZR-1's and made around 130 95's with a match set of Dunn cylinder heads. The C4 ZR-1 has countless speed records and one hell of a history around that. All C4 ZR-1's are factory widebody so they look sick! You pop the hood and your graced with the legendary LT-5 engine which looks amazing! Ooo ya its also one of the fastest cars of it time and best handling! Its stated that the LT-5 engine was "rated" at 405 hp in the later years but really im going to say its probably around 430-440 hp mainly because if its really "405 hp" that's the strongest "405 hp" i have ever felt. And sadly they too are under the radar being the Forgotten King.
Yes i own a 1995 ZR-1 so im bias and for what i payed for the car i feel like i stole it from the guy.

Definitely the Saleen S7 TT should be on the list. It is definitely one of the most exotic looking cars produced that will in my opinion, will remain timeless. It is also race proven with multiple championships (4 or 5 I believe) Often times, people tend to over look domestic cars and domestic tuner cars. I totally agree that the Calloway Corvettes should be there as well. The sledgehammer was an amazing car that is to this day, not very well known. They actually ran intercooler charge pipes through the corvettes frame rails due to the lack of space.

The problem is that they're icon cars and that's about it. The best of the best R34's aren't special enough for settling for a lesser one to be that unfathomable. The richest people will buy the exact one they want for whatever they can get it for, or they'll get the next best one. And then when the people who had these as their poster cars die off or can't drive them anymore, there's not gonna be a second generation of enthusiasts passionate enough about them to keep the momentum going or even maintain values. The 250 GTO is as valuable as it is because its attached to one of the most important and famous brands (not just automotive) in the world, and it was the last true road-racer Ferrari ever built. Every example raced in the worlds most famous races and so many were driven by people with literal statues put up in their honour. It's absurd to compare the two as if any comparison of value (not necessarily monetary value) is anything but laughable.

One car that I think should be on that list is the Maserati Shamal. Horsepower ranged from 326 to 350 plus depending on year from a twin turbo v8. There were only 369 Made only from 1990-1996. I am looking for one to add to my fleet. To my knowledge there are only 3 in the US as they were not sold here. They have been selling form $60,000 to $80,000 US dollars. I would like one but do not know the way to get one form overseas.

You could find someone to help you with bringing it in, but I'd warn you that Maserati doesn't have a great rep in Europe for quite good reason, they cost a LOT to run, more than Ferraris do typically. Quite special '80s cars sell for very little in Europe because of the maintenance and fragility of the engines and interior buttons etc, finding ones where everything works is impossible now. But here that is priced in, so they don't cost much typically for what they are.

The market on the Diablo special variants is right around where it should be, especially when taking your comparison to the F40 and F50. At the end of the day, the Diablo special variants are Diablo's. The F40 and F50 are bespoke cars using bespoke chassis that are not based on regular variants. If anything, the F40 is still undervalued in my books. One of if not the best looking and most raw modern-ish Ferrari's ever produced.
I believe the next big push in a few years will be high strung, high revving, naturally aspirated sport coupes and sedans like the E9X M3's and B7 RS4!

How do I help my uncle reach curated to possibly sell it? 190SL is red over tan and still has the factory hardtop option. I think this is the last truly beautiful Mercedes and the end of that era of Mercedes-Benz. Only 104 produced in 1963 and only 50 USA market.

Pretty much any Gayden era Aston Martin Vantage from about 2006 up to the redesign in 2019. These are some of the last naturally aspirated V8 and V12 exotic cars and they’re mostly available for a song when you consider you’re getting a hand built British exotic that was made in low numbers. Parts are pretty expensive, but mechanically they’ve proven to be very sound. Interiors are beautiful and you can get them for less than a boring Ford F150 off the lot. These hit bottom about two years ago. They probably won’t break records rocketing up in price, but they’re definitely on the way up and massively undervalued.

I think it will be an american car. Specifically the following: Shelby GT350/350R, Shelby GT500 (2013-2014), Corvette Z06 and ZR1's.
The Shelby GT350 stopped production for 2021. 350's received a 5.2L Voodoo Flat plane crank motor, Fords highest HP N/A engine, and a first and only for them.
In my opinion, the S197 GT500's the 2013-2014 years. 5.8L V8 with a 2.3L supercharger, tied to a manual transmission, carbon fiber driveshaft, etc. is a F'ing fantastic choice and already climbing in price now.

#10. Aston Martin DBS V12 manual. I see them appreciate a lot lately. The body styling is timeless, NA engine, RWD, MT... a classic. Bonus is that it is a true 007 car and I think the car is reasonably reliable and not as maintenance intensive as a F355. If you think the people born in the 90s were teens when the DBS came out, they will be in their forties by 2030 with a much better income so I do think they can do much better, all the more as 2030 will be the deadline to ban ICE in many countries so a lot of FOMO might fuel the prices.

One very special one that gets ignored is the US spec 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB. There were only 126 US market GTBs for 1977 and this was the only year pre emissions in the US for these cars. So they came with the full power with the euro cams, no catalytic converters and the much prettier euro rear deck lid. These cars trade hands around $100k like the rest of the 2185 carbed GTBs but these 126 1977 cars were the best of the best without being choked by the emissions of the 1978 and later cars.

Just my view but I believe the DeTomaso Mangusta (1967 - 1971) is undervalued. The looks always were those wonder 1960's Italian design and mated with a potent engine [in period], only 401 made but less than 250 exist. They trade for under $400k (a few exceptions) which is cheap for a Modena, Italy made vintage exotic.
