I miss openings that showed the preliminary scores. You see which contestants did well in specific competitions. Many interview scores were high that year. I loved Miss New York, who was fresh and innocent here before becoming a celebrity. I also loved Miss Utah's evening gown. There were many other great contestants besides Miss Texas.
@shyshutterbug They cannot say "Miss [State]" because the Miss America Org owns all the rights to all the "Miss [State]" pageants. He would have to either say "Miss [State] - USA", or just say the state name, which is not trademarked.

The Miss USA pagents of the 90's are the best. I use to anticipate to watch the pagents, now there is no competition, just a big Fasion Show, with crack heads (06) and women that just can't keep their feet leveled on the ground (07 and 08)!
