It's utterly fucked up at a lot of points but the combat mechanics are satisfying to learn and master and the in-game mythology is fascinating, especially with the added lore from the sequel. Best played blind if you want to experience regular "eureka" moments when you figure out something new. I will warn you, this game is quite unforgiving.
