Scarlet and Violet are going to feel weird with being able to ride the legendaries early in the game
Maybe you’ll only be able to use them as rides and after the story youll be able to use em in your team.
Or you'll be able to use their quadruped form in the early game and later you'll unlock their biped form

It's not unlike the rideable Pokémon in "Legends Arceus."
Remember, ORAS let you do this too on Latios/Latias

Also, the "korai" in Koraidon's name in Japanese basically means "ancient" or "long ago" as in dinosaur times. Where as "mirai" in Miraidon's name means "the future". :)
The legendary Pokémon from scarlet and violet gives me toothless vibe from HTTYD. I love it

Most excited for Houndour/Houndoom being in a main line pokemon game again. Haven't seen them since x and y. My 2nd fav line after the charmander line.
they were in ultra sun and moon just very late and were exclusive to i believe moon? those are main line pokemon games
I can't believe PERSIAN is in a game again. And regular Kanto Persian been a while kitty kitty.

The multiplayer in a wide open map was my favorite part of Gen 8, and it looks upgraded in multiple ways here in Gen 9. I am excited!
On the website, it mentions that there are three different "stories" that you can do while discovering Paldea.
One is the gym challenge with Nemona, and the other two are secret, one suggested involving the car with fire patterns and another with the upperclassmen and the protagonist finding something.
I think this means that you can travel or do these stories along with one of your rivals: Nemona does the gym challenge, Penny does something like a racing challenge or something (remember the flags with fire marks we couldn't figure out?) that you might do as well but with your legendary mon, or discovering some ancient mystery throughout the region with the upperclassmen. I think these are the three rivals interpretations of "exploring Paldea" which was assigned to them by the 100% not evil academy principal
Genuinely excited for this game. It looks like the past 3-4 games were "tests" and this is the final product of everything! Best trailer

They better not have been just “tests” because they charged $80 for those games. Somewhere around $110 for the full game of one of them. (Sword and Shield).
While I think Sun and Moon was a test for this, it felt like full in another way though.
@@bluefiregamingandcards just because something is a test doesn't mean it's not a fully developed game. When people refer to tests they're talking about game mechanics. Like the free roam, overworld models, raids, overworld catching. All these things were added to each game to see how we as the community responds to them. If we didn't think raids were a good mechanic that needed to be expanded on they wouldn't have been included.
Feel like the 3 stories are gonna be something like -
1. Gym battle / league champion: pretty straight forward
2. Legendary line: story line where we meet the box legendary and upgrade its riding abilities and eventually catch it for our team.
3. Treasure hunt line: not exactly sure what this one will be but I feel something along the line of the pokedex
+ what seems like the evil team was shown when they told us about the 3 stories so one of them will likely be about them
@@peanutbutterduck8039 yeah I straight up forgot about the evil team in the game until Austin’s most recent vid but I’d probs say that the evil team line and legendary line are probs the same line since the evil teams in the Pokémon games always have interests in the legendaries
Idk what made me happier, the Trailer or Austin’s adorable goofy smile. So ready for the deep dive analysis!
I still love Scarlets legendary, even though it looks silly running (they should have left the back tail unfurled behind them like in their relaxed pose). Really love how much info dropped. It'll be interesting to see how each pokemon type is represented in that terastal gimmic.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the terasal gimmick. It is who boring. They get a crystal texture and a stupid thing on top of their head. The rest of the game looks interesting, but if I can get through the game without using it, I will.
@Emmanuel Brijandez Torres It's not technically unnecessary, they just play off it. It's a lizard, lizards have round skin flaps so they took that and made it look like a motorcycle-
It makes complete sense to me, but I watch reptiles all the time so idk. Weirds me out that people are so confused by it when he can puff it out and retract it, it's obviously a lizard.
(I'm totally going for scarlet obviously, not a huge giant fan of robots and I love lizards so, the organic one appeals to me more. And I like how it runs, it's just the illusion of a motorcycle. And that swimming animation? Love it)
I'm not sure I can ever get used to the idea of every Pokemon having a giant, unmissable chandelier welded onto their heads.
Gigantimax Pokemon look incredible by comparison. Using a strong, cool looking Pokemon with a center piece table decoration sticking out of it is ruining the magic of Pokemon for me a little.

Fun fact: the academy names correspond with which game you pick (assuming that the academies are game specific.) Naranja is Spanish for orange, and uva is Spanish for grape. Just thought this was a nice touch

I like that they made the legendary feel more like a partner than a pokemon you catch and keep in a box
It's cool to hear you're playing Pokemon Go again! It's a fun game, especially with friends. I wish the daily incense worked better. It seems to work better for some people than others. I get around 20 pokemon each time, but mostly buizel. Hoping that changes now that the Hisuian event is over.
Also, super excited about Pokemon Violet and seeing more of your videos!

the one tiny detail that realy, really bugs me about the raidons is that the one I would normally prefer, doesn't use it's f-ing wheels. if it only uses its legs to carry you around, why tf does it even have wheels??
Yeah the wheels just hanging there while it runs about makes it look pretty stupid. Could of just had it have no back wheel thing and the front wheel is just a throat sack.
I'm 90% sure that using its feet is supposed to be a Flintstones reference to fit with Scarlet's prehistoric aesthetic..
I was thinking about this, and its possible the reason why is because its more primitive and unwilling to adapt, so it uses its legs over the wheels because it doesn't trust the technology. Meanwhile the futuristic legendary has completely accepted and adapted to its wheels so it has no legs at all in motorcycle form, just a theory though!

There really isn't anything left about pokemon that I used to love. Maybe I just grew out of it but it's lost all its magic.

Great video as always Austin. One thing that got my attention on the gym leader battle, there is no level on Cetitan when we see the damage from the flamethrower, so maybe there is no level scaling on gyms because there is no level at all for this battles
The Terastral Phenomenon explains the scene at the end of the last trailer with the pokeball in a mysterious crystal room
I see one big problem for me: it seems the combat system hasn't been touched at all. that is, again we have a very static, slow, separate arena in which the pokemon repeat two animations in one place. And such a system gets boring very quickly, at the end of SwSh I even avoided fights. I'm afraid of that because fighting is a bigger part of the game after all. The more dynamic but still turn-based LegendsArceus system suited me better
Yeah it's funny that Legends Arceus had a more evolved battle system, when battling was much less prominent than it is in typical Pokemon games (few trainer battles and the ability to catch Pokemon outside of battle)
@@ryleyos4250 I just meant that it was more heavily altered than the battle systems in any other instalment, not that it was necessarily better or more complex.
I was just saying it seemed odd they put effort into making a different system when combat wasn't as big a part of the game.
They didn't even give us starter evolutions

At first I was gonna get scarlet, but the violet legendary looks cooler.
I love the new legends, but having them at the start... It just feels to casual, and I hate that, I'm supposed to be in gawk and awe at them, not see them as "friends" yes, they can be your friends, but you should be initially at awe and wonder at their mysteriousness when you first find them, not like "oh, weird Pokemon, I'ma ride it"
There will be a 3rd legendary and there will be reveals about your legendary friends
@@bern9642 not the point. legendries of previous games had a journey to get them and we usually had a lot to do to get them. These guys aren't the same. I wouldn't consider them legends, just useless hm slaves
Not really, my theory is:
your character doesn't know hes ride is a Legendary Pokemon, pretty sure it will be like cosmog
You have it as a vehicle and near the end it will be reveal "OH! your actually THE Legendary pokemon all this time!"
@@bern9642 hope so, leaks stated there isn't a 3rd Legendary in this gen.
@@dmv99 if the future past leaks are to be believed, these pokemon are from different timeline. Even their names in Japanese mean past and future. So it's likely they are stuck in the wrong timeline and getting them from the start means you'll be working with them to get them back to their own timelines so probably they need your help.
Also, they are do all those things without HMs.

I was a fan of pokemon since Crystal Era, but man this new teaser video does not hype me as hype as Pokemon Sword and Shield.. for me personally, the graphic definition and colouring was below Sword and Shield.. idk it looks like early nintendo game instead of 2022 games looks like..
And Sword and Shield looked like a 2019 game????!!!! Not even by switch standards playa. Not even by switch standards.

@@Supre3m3Kai as a console that caps around 30 fps and announced on 2017, within 2 years, non OLED screen yet, yes, it does looks like 2019 games, and if you looking back, Gigantamax was pretty innovative and great upgrade for its console in 2019.
@@andretanza6230 They don't look close to anything made during their release years. The hardware itself was outdated on release. The Switch is 2 generations behind.

This trailer yet again proves to me why they will never bring back mega’s as a core ‘gimmick’.
The problem with mega’s was that only specific Pokémon could utilize it, and what Gamefreak wants is a mechanic that any Pokémon can use with some specific ones getting a bonus (specific z-moves/gigantamax).
So unless they find some way to make every Pokémon have a smaller form of mega evolution, people should really stop hoping it will happen
