I was really disconnected from Pokémon since legends Arceus came out but whenever Austin uploads a string of videos on new Pokémon information I come back.

Cue instant flashbacks of “Yahaha! You found me!” 900 times. For real though, Austin, you have the best breakdowns and walkthroughs. I always get excited when I see that you’ve posted.
I hope there is no korok type system in this game. I already have to deal with that in sonic frontiers!
@@aci6737 I will be very surprised if there isn't. There were the digletts in Island of Armor, and the spiritomb wisps in Arceus. They'll probably have something similar in this one.

The difference is Breath 1 had 0 dungeons which was terrible. Scarlet/Violet retains the Traditional proper 8 Gyms - and how Sweet is that! Sometimes Mr Aonuma, it's Best _not_ to "break with Tradition".
@@netweed09 well the divine beasts certainly felt like dungeons. And hyrule castle could be a dungeon (and a great one at that) if you don't cheese with rivali's gale

I hope they release maps with preorders. I already preordered the double pack at gamestop though. Maybe if they release an official guide it will come with a collectable map.

One thing I thought of is 4 lighthouse 4 modes/rides. Also a lighthouse is supposed to cut through the night fog so ships don't crash. So maybe activating them will slowly lighten the fog in the middle.
Since Paldea is based on the Iberian Peninsula (Spain/Portugal), I would assume that the top right corner of the map, the mountains would be like the Pyrenees to separate Paldea (Iberia) and Kalos (France)

This is the first time Pokémon has actually made me feel overwhelmed like the map is huge , then you have potential kalos connections and 3 stories

The one thing that Pokemon has been having issues with is the route you take throughout the journey. In the most recent gens (6-8) they were just big circles or straight lines. VERY little doubling back or optional areas that can provide with more Pokémon. I feel like this open world format will facilitate more of that unpredictable journey/traveling. SO EXCITED

I dont know if someone has said his yet, but 2 flags crossing each other has car racing connotations. Specifically, the halfway point in a race. 🏁 Perhaps the evil team is in charge of a racing team or you can race in co-op.
wait it was already implied that you could race with your friends which implies coop racing.
Or its related to the treasure hunt and the flags mark points where the story connected to it progresses

I feel like the lighthouse and big stone towers are connected like the lighthouse is the "future" and the stone towers are the "past" while both doing the same thing
There was the leak about how you send your pokemon to either the past or future to obtain their forms
There was a leak saying there is a legendary 4 and its based on chinese mythology and like north, south, east, west, could be that.

@@sekaihunter9378 Well the difference of that is, it's a Japanese company, so it wouldn't be out of the box to include Japanese references. It wouldn't make sense in this case for Chinese references, though I don't mind either way.

2) Holy cow, if this map is any indication, there is going to be SO MUCH exploring in this game and I love that. I want it now.
northeast corner is most likely just kalos as y'know, spain and france are countries neighbouring eachother on that exact end

@@RealCtc I would not mind Kalos DLC. Even if it was like a fringe area we didn't explore in XY. But you could have Sycamore show up.

Definitely feels like the water gym's town is going to be a bit more important than your average town when looking at how much bigger it is and seeing those large buildings on its east side, feel like you prob return there later in the story.
I think that would actually be the steel type gym based on how futuristic it looks and the buildings it has. My guess is that the water gym is the one in the middle of the river at the end of the sand desert area.

I really hope they use the BOTW scaling system for this. In BOTW, every enemy you defeat adds towards an invisible tally (Main Quests and bosses added a lot to this total) and the higher tally that is, the higher level enemies there were. However, some locations had enemies that would ALWAYS stay low leveled. It would easily add feelings of progression to the game.
I feel like the Pokemon in the wild are gonna be level scaled, however, the gyms are not.
You can purposefully seek out a stronger Gym Leader, or you can simply stop by a Gym that happens to be located in a town you came across on your journey.
@@nickdentoom1173 I actually feel like it would be the opposite of that if anything. Since they want open world, the gyms have to be scaled. Like how in the anime gym leaders would use different teams de[ending on how many badges their opponents have.

wow no one’s commenting about it but it’s amazing seeing how much detail you can zoom in on with this map. i know it’s like 8K dimensions but it’s amazing to see it in action like this

I was thinking of a basin but I could be wrong, oceanography isn't my strongest field of science
The lookout towers do have ladders. That one area looks like a vineyard or farm looking at the patterns of vegetation. The crossed flags feels like racing. Maybe with your ride mon

@@christinewhoyt It’s true that we are waiting for that animation, just as we wait for that fancy car to show us the steel/poison Pokemon that lives in its engine
My worry about the three different “stories” are that they are just going to be fill your Pokédex, pikemon league challenge, and regional story that leads you to the legendary. Which is just what every game has been. And by separating the three you are either forced to play all three at the same time or else grind like crazy so that you stay at an competitive level.

@@hi28 perhaps the Koraidon/Miraidon is just a rideable pokemon in the first part of the game and cannot battle (reminiscent of nebby). And your aim is to help them evolve - the one in the box art just like solgaleo and lunala.
And filling the pokedex isn’t a story
@@hi28 my thought there is that it will be treated like the travel Pokémon in Arceus. You have access to them o my for that purpose until you complete that part of the story in which you’re able to catch it for real.
@@kunzie2005 or what if you end up having such a strong bond with the legendary that it doesn't want to leave you at the end?
I'm just saying that it's a possibility not a fact.
This is hands down the BEST map I’ve seen from a Pokémon game. Makes me so excited for this Gen!

I feel like the reason there's a fighting/ battle arenas everywhere is for co-op and being able to challenge someone your playing with

Hey Austin the clouded are could be a reference to the fact the kilos is based on France and France connects to Spain so maybe the regions meet there since in the games x and y we never went to South kalos
I already know I'm going to sink hours into these games. With a map this huge there bound to be secrets and hidden things.
I think that the part covered by the clouds in the top right is where Paldea connects to Kalos, as that is where Spain connects to France.
I hope there will be some kalos pokemon

Penny=Evil Team/Races or Related to Flags or Low Rider
Arven=Research on Tower Exploring and healthy recipes
I cannot wait for these games. This looks like what the Pokemon series has needed for a long time now

I'm pretty sure the battlefields we see in most towns are for the gyms, and the other buildings are just for the gym challenge, since in the trailer we see the player battling Grusha on the icy blue battlefield on the south side if the mountain.

The trailer made it seem like you can take on any of the 3 stories without having to do the other ones so that makes me think the HMs wouldn't be locked off till you do something. Unless its maybe a side quest.

The reason ur my favorite pokemon news source is because u don't waste time with leaks and spoilers. U give us fun entertaining breakdowns of what we know. Never change. Also are u gonna make a video about confirmed pokemon both old and new
You know I didn't mind the leakers but I'm kinda glad they're gone and have retreated back into hiding. Finding out new information from Nintendo was more exciting. I'm glad we now have more official stuff to get excited about and study.
@@Emily-lh6em I used to be all over any leaks I could find but I love playing Pokemon as blind as I can. It's a lot more fun to seeing new pokemon and going "OMG WHAT THE HECK IS THAT THING". For better or worse that was my reaction to galarian meowth

This is probably the best map so far I love the levels of turain and the different paths, hidden or side paths so much exploration.
Im so excited to finally start a pokemon game at the same time as everyone else, and use your super helpful videos to catch my favourite mons!
Everything looks so expansive. Hopefully it’s actually like that in-game. I want every section to feel big, and I kinda wish There was more that one big city (at least two) instead of just one and everything else is like small towns/villages

IMO the flat towers are points of fast travel and what you called the 100 sided die or whatever is a hot air balloon that does the quick traveling. The towers look perfect for landing
4:31 Little observation, but that path is called “Poco Path”. Poco is spanish for “little”. No idea if they actually mean the spanish word, but it would be fitting, considering this is based off of Spain.

Hopefully, we don't have to “get” any ability and just go wherever we want after obtaining the legendary just like BOTW after getting the glider and leaving the plateau 🤞🏻

I doubt you have full access to all modes instantly
My guess is that instead of fly/surf being locked behind story points or behind certain badges that it will be locked behind how many you have rather than certain ones since they said that we can do the gyms in any order. Ie. Need three badges but they could be any of them not just the first three
I’m gonna guess that climbing is gonna actually be rather early game because of just how many places there are you can climb surfing maybe a bit later then that but I still think it would make the most sense for most HM abilities(except maybe gliding) to be obtained early to mid game or maybe you can go out of your way to get them early
Probably just copy arceus lol. Gliding will be last
I dunno, the way everything sounded when I watched the trailer made me think that once you get the legendary, everything starts unlocked, sorta botw style
@@LunaryonSunborn true but that could be a bit hard to add and is very different from the normal style of Pokémon then again this entire game is gonna change the formula quite a bit and it would be very nice, it would also make a lot of sense because according to the website you can battle the gyms in any order you like but that could mean that you don’t have to battle them but you still have to go to the towns to get HM abilities or completely free reign of the map
@@edsweet2858 I too , like Lunar Snyder, believe that once you get the legendary Pokémon all the moves are going to be open to you. Surfing, climbing, gliding. The main reason I believe this is because the website makes it a big deal that you have the freedom of how the story plays out. By switching between the stories and doing the gyms in any order. The website stated is a big hallmark of the game. Now I can of course be wrong, because like you said it a change in the formula, but this game is trying new things. I believe that the game tutorial leads to that whole sequence about the treasure hunt we saw in the trailer. once you start the treasure hunt, all modes are open to you so you can explore the region how you would like. Similar to how you were able to technically explore all of Hyrule after you completed the the great plateau. Like I said I could be wrong though so we will see in the end lol.

I feel like the gym on the water would be the steel gym
or electric. Kalos had an electric gym which was the tower. If I remember correctly.

What if the three stories are Gym Battles, Evil Team, and finally the Treasure Hunt (Story)
An ode to the third picture we saw on the website, the pic of the plant. Maybe your traveling on this “treasure hunt” discovering these different crystal looking objects (in the pics case it was a flower) and it somehow connects to the terastral phenomenon. Maybe that’s what the third story is about. Maybe those crystals can be found in different shapes based on the element and location. Flower for grass like we say in the picture, water drop crystal for water, crystal flame for fire, maybe a rock geode for rock and a lightning bolt crystal for electric.
I have the same feeling the three stories are Gums, Evil Team and Treasure hunt, but i think the towers are there for the treasure hunt, while the flags are for the evil team.
The flags/ barricades and car seem to point to me that one of the 3 stories will be race based. Maybe similar to in legends arceus but against NPCs. Since the legends are vehicles you ride from the start a racing mechanic seems likely in some form

We aren't getting gym scaling. This is literally confirmed at this point via the website: You can purposefully seek out a stronger Gym Leader, or you can simply stop by a Gym that happens to be located in a town you came across on your journey.
Which for me means there is literally no point in being able to do them in any order.

It would be AMAZING if they make the gyms like in the anime all gym battles have a limit on how many Pokémon you can use. Some are 3 some 2 some 6 it would make it more competitive rather than the gym leader using 3 and you have 6 on you

I've watched so many map analysis videos hey you can't have to much can you! Paldea is probably my favorite map of any region makes Alola and Galar look small in comparison.

I think the towers and lighthouses will play into the past/future theme. The towers all look like ancient ruins, and maybe the lighthouses are the modern/future equivalent

Basing things on the flags I'd say it's probably a "team thing" so maybe there are different teams of students. One being Arvan's team, 2 being Penny's team, 3 being protagonist's team, and 4 being Nomana's team. That could probably be a thing.
About the level scaling. You went over the website in an earlier video. There it said and I quote:
"There is no set path to the Gyms. You can purposefully seek out a stronger Gym Leader, or you can simply stop by a Gym that happens to be located in a town you came across on your journey."
This makes me doubt there will be level scaling. Still hoping for it though. Would be a shame if in my order gym nr 8 has level 12 pokemon lol.
