She needs to do an audio book. Like....every audio book. Her and Cate Blanchet have heavenly voices. Viggo Mortenson is on the male spectrum of that too. His voice is so soothing to listen too. They should all retire and read for a living lol.

Kate's remarks about Michael Bay's focus on how she should "look" for Pearl Harbor nearly echoes Vivien Leigh's experience on the set of Gone With the Wind. Studio head, Louis B. Mayer, issued memo after memo mandating how her hair should be styled, her eyebrows, as well as detailed instructions to rectify her disappointing bustline "tape them up" with cotton wool. Wardrobe had several iterations of Scarlet's one remaining calico dress to show the phases of disintegration as she attended to wounded soldiers. Each one apparently accompanied by more memos instructing to how many buttons could be left undone.

A great example of Ms. Beckinsale's very different look prior to "Pearl Harbor" is "Uncovered" from 1994. I think her voice was higher then too. She was great in it, even though it was a pretty weird flick.

No idea who Michael Bay is, I thought Kate was great in the movie and I know from previous interviews that she got quite a lot of heavy criticism from Bay regarding her appearance. The woman's nearing 45, voices change over time I don't think she sounds like a heavy smoker there are other actresses who don't smoke and sound 190% worse. I would be surprised if any actress her generation didn't have plastic surgery of some kind but again there are a lot worse examples ... Nicole Kidmans face doesn't move anymore for Christ sake

I happen to think that Pearl Harbor was good and Kate Beckinsale was good in it too.
The negative comes because people apparently think its good to dislike blockbusters, which many people actually go and see, by Michael Bay.
Why is there a stigma against his movies.
People like them. It may not high theater or Cannes-material indie stuff, but there is something for all moviefans.

Various locations. Some parts were filmed in LA, some in Baja, Mexico, even once at a desert in Nevada near Las Vegas for the Tokyo attack sequence.

Pearl Harbor was cursed by a shitty story, while it had an intense and compelling historical base. The assified love triangle was a groan, the fact that after the attack, there was an epic fail anticlimax, and the back and forth between the two dudes by the girl was awful. All around Bay Ass™
