Irish Jews: Zionists In Israel's European Enemy State?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 22 окт 2023
- Since the recent outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, Ireland has entrenched itself once more in its traditional opposition to the Jewish State.
For Ireland's diminutive Jewish community with less than 3,000 members, being both Irish and Jewish can feel increasingly like incompatible identities.
In this video, I share a little bit about my own experience growing up as a Jew in Ireland - and my journey that ultimately led me to move to Jerusalem.

I would really agree with you on Ireland having an anti-somatic problem, I was raised Roman Catholic but always supported Israel, a few years ago a health practitioner I went to for a while came up to me and abused me in a pub for my support of Israel, While his friend kept passing me and my friend praising Hamas, indeed shooting his support for Hamas. My friend told him to F--f off, And I said it to the barman with who I was friendly did it stop. Indeed it's one of the reasons I took up defence, I put in an official complaint about him and nothing happened. I Am sure it's worse now.
I'd say we're anti colonialist. Most people care not a jot for religion in Ireland especially a religion that is essentially hidden in Irish society. We don't like colonialism therefore the zionist project in Palestine is in opposition to our beliefs. Not anti-semitic. Anti-colonialist. But that doesn't fit the narrative for most Israelis.
We don't like people that rob other peoples land pal , don't give one jot what religion you are. If you steal other ppls land you will never be welcome in Ireland. Look at the brits!
Enemy state? You expect your friends to agree with you when you're wrong? Israel outdoes Lady Bracknell.
An ethno-state for jews, multiculturalism for everyone else? Did you hand back your Irish passport?
Your my Jewish brother🕎🕎🇮🇱
I went to Israel last in 1988 im returning this year at last. I was 6 last time Hamas kept me away till now fear.
2:47 Telling facts doesn’t mean you’re antisemitic
I am a Romanian Christian living in Ireland, anti-semitism definitely exists in Ireland.
Growing up in school as a kid you would even hear kids calling each other a “Jew” as a swear word.
I hope you found peace in Israel, which is the land of the Jews and always has been. 🇮🇱
your no real Christian
You are talking about something you do not understand why live in Ireland
If hate it so much it makes no sense
and rightfully so. we have dealt with 800 years of colonialism and genocide and we will not support Zionist scum to do the same in another person's country.
Ill never return to Ireland they sent a message of sorrow when Hitler died. I went a few times between 2014-2016 never before or since 2016.
@@PC-lu3zf so did every other neutral country
This was excellent. It was disgraceful the way the Irish Women's basketball team snubbed their Israeli opponents- to paraphrase Yeats, "You have shamed yourselves again". Presumably, if our opponents had been China or Iran it would have all high-fives and fistbumps. And you are SO right about anti-Semitism in Ireland, not least since the war in Gaza began; you can't avoid it. Shalom from Galway; and I hope you are now flourishing in Israel.
This isn't anti-Semitism,it is Anti-Zionism and trust us pal there is a difference. And before you start I'm half Irish and my ancestors were brutalized by the sodding Black and Tan units!@
Great vid Dan!
A lot of people will hate it. A lot of people will disagree, including I imagine some Irish Jews. But ... what can I say ... this is how I see things.
@@DanielSRosehill I'm a different type of Irish Jew. I'm an American Jew with one Ashkenazi Jewish parent and one Irish-Catholic parent; I have family in and connections to both Israel and Ireland. I've felt a similar identity crisis to yours, you're not alone! Love your content!
@@ConOdeezThat's a weird one all right!
I was 8 minutes in to your "Israel Releases Hamas Interrogation Footage" video. Why did you private it?
Someone pointed out correctly that the "Hamas beheading babies" allegation hasn't been independently verified. I care about accuracy. I'll upload shortly a new version of the video with that taken out. Sorry for the inconvenience.
@@DanielSRosehill Ah ok, no worries. I'll keep an eye out for it, thanks for letting me know.

@@DanielSRosehill it has been verified now mate.
We only found out about 10 years ago that we had Jewish ancestors on both parent's side. Thing is it goes so far back and was intentionally hidden. We always had a suspicion but when we did the dna test and ancestral lineage and could even see the markers it just confirmed what we always thought. It's been an interesting journey. We've all been to Israel and have some very good friends there. I grew up in Belfast. There is a very small Orthodox Synagogue there, the numbers have dwindled away. I've been a couple of times but found it boring, no music etc. I do enjoy a bit of music in my worship. Although the people are lovely. My faith is I keep Shabbat and the festivals at home as do my parents and brothers. Learning to study Torah is beautiful. My hebrew is not great. I don't know much, but it's all about learning as we go. Great channel btw
Excellent video Daniel. I feel the same way about Scotland. Especially now with Humza Yousaf as FM and his family connections to Gaza and most Likely Hamas. Having been to an israeli event in edinburgh and been attacked by pally protesters and loony left liberal Jews, it shows scotlands true colours. We are too afraid to prosecute the celtic football fans for displaying a massive Palestinian flag at every match and their chants of from the river to the sea, amongst others. It won't be long till Scotland is as bad as the Republic, if not worse. There are only 5k Jews in Scotland and the number is dwindling every year. Thanks for subscribing by the way. I do have some content but a lot of it was unpublished because of the haters.
No worries! I see your name popping up here frequently in the comments so I'm always very curious to know more about who's watching these vids. BTW the next time you're here ... absolutely drop me a line. Would love to get a beer (or coffee or wine or .. whatever works).
The Irish have been very anti Semitic. They should think again about their attitudes.
Anti-colonialism is not anti-semitism.
@@TheAvarusAnimusthey are anti semitic
Hi Daniel, I've been watching your interesting videos for a while now and occasionally commenting on them. I've actually just left Israel due to the war having made Aliyah three years ago. I'm now living in Georgia. Believe it or not, I actually came quite close to taking a flight to Makachkala in Dagestan, Russia (you mentioned that in a previous video about unusual flight destinations from Israel) but fortunately was able to find a ticket last minute on a direct flight to Tbilisi despite the flight being sold out. I lived in Cork for just over a year back in 2016. I lived in Blackpool, not far from the Heineken Brewery. Before moving to Cork, I spent a few months in Kilkenny staying with my friend's parents whilst I was job hunting. I'll continue to watch your videos despite having left Israel. Keep up the good content!
Interesting! Do you plan on coming back once stuff (hopefully soon) settles down?
@@DanielSRosehill No we're not coming back. We were planning on moving to Georgia anyway in January/February 2024. Israel wasn't for me but it was an experience.
I can absolutely understand why you left. Sadly there is a lot of hate out there in the world.
He left years before the current events and it had nothing to do with anti-semitism, more loneliness by the sounds of it.
@@TheAvarusAnimus But watch his video again and you will see he has been the victim of religious hate even from his young school days. He paints a picture that he left because of all of the above rather than any single issue. My comment was because of the needless hate he was a victim to. It should have been unacceptable especially at the education level. It is sad to see such hate in any nation against any one, but far sadder to see this hate make it in to the nations educational system. This sort of propaganda clearly had no place in such an institution. I suspect it is far wider spread than just a rogue teacher as a more systematic level would very much explain what we are seeing these days.
@kenh6096 Do you think a Catholic or Muslim boy wouldn't be bullied in an all Jewish school in Israel?! It's wrong, but it will 100% happen.
@@TheAvarusAnimus Hang on, You are clearly trying to move the goal posts there. I see your real agender. Shame on you. Just to clarify I am not Jewish, I was brought up in a nation I was not born and did not fit in on many levels. I was far more of an outsider than the person in this video. Yet I never once experienced the degree of deep rooted prejudice that he has. Though it would not have mattered in the context of my comment even if I had, because it would not have altered the fact that people have and are experiencing this in Ireland.
Did it ever occur to you to look beyond the walls of your settler colonial home to watch a genocide and a holocaust being carried out on a poor indigenous people?
Have to say this is pretty ridiculous. The fact that Ireland is so anti Israel, you would think there would be far more open anti semitism. Ireland is not against the Israeli people, we're against the government who's doing to the Palestinians what the British did and do to us
What do the British do to us? Please explain with details not hyperbole.
@@TheTimdoyle let's start with the rents on the couple of hundred thousand assets the British government still collects to this day maybe? Dublin Castle being one of such assets
@@JG-es5dj they collect rent from the Irish taxpayer? Do you reckon that the Irish Government could have changed that a long time ago - maybe in over a hundred years of independence?
How much does the taxpayer pay and to whom?
@@JG-es5dj The taxpayer pays €5,129 per year ground rent for 53 properties. The government could use the laws it made in 1965 and buy the freeholds.
So what else are the British doing to us?
@@TheTimdoyle it's far more properties than that
I HATE this country so much 🤮
Hate seems to be a common theme.
unite Ireland and free Palestine 🇮🇪❤🇵🇸
As far as I know before the Six Day War most Irish people had sympathy towards Israel. My granny had a thing for Moshe Dayan. There was an interesting documentary on Northern Ireland a couple of years. Similar problem with getting 10 men. When I was a child my parents emigrated to America. When I returned I used to get lectures about executions in Texas and guns in America. Sorry to hear about your negative experiences.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing that!
One explanation that I find convincing is that Irish attitudes changed after Irish soldiers were deployed as peacekeepers in Lebanon and the occupied territories. Irish interests and Israeli interests are pretty far apart on that issue.
I'm sad you feel that way towards Ireland. I'd try not to get so bogged down on what PBP say, a lot of us Irish are getting sick of them recently too with their radical lefty actions. Especially in regards to refugees and thinking every small town should be happy with large groups of men being dumped in them. I think you're right that sinn fein and PBP have brought alot of jew hate to Ireland. Mainly with lefty college students and Nationalists in the north. But on average most Irish don't care what's going on because the conflict has been going on for decades now, and want to focus on whats going on here in regards of immigration and housing.
Evidence for any claim you've made?
Exactly true. There will be a major backlash against the Far Left and their desires to wipe out Irish culture with their globalist cultural ambitions.
Such bullshit. Zero evidence to back any of that up.
fair Jews to you ❤
Jewish population in Ireland is small indeed, but no shortage jews in powerful positions, what does that tll you
That's simply not true.
I really dont understand how two Western Democracies that dont share a border and have never fought a war amongst themselves can be so hostile to one another...
and it really was Ireland that initiated this hostility to one another... before the war In Gaza i had never heard of the anti-Israel sentiment in Ireland (until i watched a video about it by the news youtube channel TLDR EU)
I always thought that Ireland was a liberal democracy whose only historical enemy is the UK ... my stereotype of the Irish people was that they are deeply liberal people who also happen to hate Brittain for historical reasons ...
Even less spiteful people choose their enemy's enemies as allies.

I don’t think it’s fair to use footage of PBP to represent Ireland writ large. They vacillate between 1-3% in opinion polls. And the 97-99% of us that don’t vote for them tend to strongly dislike them. The media love them for the clicks they generate so they have a profile that’s not at all representative of their level of support.
I feel ashamed to be irish at the moment. We take a posturing ignorant stance on a situation that the majority of us have not bothered to research the true history of. And of course every word that issues from the Hamas is treated as utterly true and trustworthy here
I am Irish and live in London. I totally agree with your sentiment. I also think there are a lot more in agreement- the silent majority.
@@leahm8166 You could be right. In this age of mass information, many people are misinformed and gullible.
How silly can you be to be in support of a regime (the religion of peace) that hates the very society you come from and wants to destroy it? I mean surely people aren’t that stupid, are they?
You are very ignorant

Irish American I'd say. We are one of the most, per capita, educated countries in Europe. We can formulate opinions based on factual evidence not what the media tells us. We can see with pur own eyes the slaughter and subjugation of Palestinians. There may be a few reasons to be ashamed to be Irish but fighting against genocide and ethnic cleansing is not one of them.
